I just rolled up a kobold monk and set him down in the lovely isle of amia.. only to find myself puzzled.

I had previously been under the assumption that Kobolds received a +1 AC bonus to Small size, and a +1 from natural armor (scales.)

My monk had a dex of 14 (+2 AC mod). I've heard that the Small Size bonus shows up mechanically, but not on the sheet. Even then, shouldn't the +1 natural AC mod show up on the sheet? That would mean I should have a 13AC, rather than the 12 right now..

I made a kobold once before and I could have sworn he received the +1 bonus. Was it removed? Am I just imagining it at all? Did I somehow make my kobold wrong and he went wonky when his subrace goo was applied?

Thoughts?

..i.. could have sworn.....

..maybe my brain is just fried anymore.

Which is entirely possible...

*scratches head*

ah well. The kobold can be as soft and squishy as the mammals then.

Kobold Characters

Kobold characters possess the following racial traits.

* -4 Strength, +2 Dexterity, -2 Constitution.
* Small size: +1 bonus to Armor Class, +1 bonus on attack rolls, +4 bonus on Hide checks, -4 penalty on grapple checks, lifting and carrying limits ¾ those of Medium characters.
* A kobold’s base land speed is 30 feet.
* Darkvision out to 60 feet.
* Racial Skills: A kobold character has a +2 racial bonus on Craft (trapmaking), Profession (miner), and Search checks.
* Racial Feats: A kobold character gains feats according to its character class.
* +1 natural armor bonus.
* Special Qualities (see above): Light sensitivity.
* Automatic Languages: Draconic. Bonus Languages: Common, Undercommon.
* Favored Class: Sorcerer.
* Level adjustment +0.

this is what is shown on the official PnP rules. It seems that kobolds lose their small size ac bonus, you should post about this into "things to change". in PnP there seems to be -2 con, which has been removed, but also the natural armor thingy.

Size Bonus / Penalty isn't shown in your Character Sheet, however it does apply. Just watch your combat log. Your AC may say 25, but the enemy will still be missing until they roll a 26.

He's talking about the +1 natural AC, which should show up on the sheet.

Though it seems that doesn't apply on Amia.
