Im rather curios: how is the whole 'monks are psionics' thing treated on Amia, or is that just ugly bugly 4th edition heresy? I have the impression that telepathy is a no go on Amia in general, but how about teleportation (other than wands ofcourse), telekinese (le Force), mind domination etc?

... Monks are not psychic. Where the devil did you see that one?

Teleportation: No.

Telekenesis: Depends.

Mental Domination: Use the spells.

Any application of Psionics requires a character request be made, before the character is created.

Yes, the entire DnD and FR wiki are 4th edition now. Don't use them. You'll want to look in 3.0 and 3.5 materials. Try the Complete series of sourcebooks, that'd be Warrior, Adventurer, Arcane, Mage, Divine, Psionic, and ...Scoundrel? I think it's Complete Scoundrel.

I consider the complete series to be some of the best 3.5 splatbooks out there. There's something for every character you could ever think of in those books.

Oh, and if, like Psionics, it's "Alternate Magic Systems" you're interested inb more than monks, then you want Complete Psionic and the Expanded Psionics Handbook for psionics, Book of Nine Swords for the Nineswords "melee magic" system, Tome of Magic for Shadow, Pact, and Truenaming magic, and The Book of Incarnum (I think that's the name) for Incarnum, a magic system that in my mind completes the "Magic Trinity": Ki of the monk for body, Psionics for mind, and Incarnum for the inner Spirit/Soul.

Any chance to find them, or extracts of them on the web that we mortal students can afford? (ie: free)

I do. But the entire collection is...quite a large download. We're talking 7-10 gigs here.

Where do Duergar stand on the whole Psionic front? I know by the lore books that they're naturaly quite Psionic, hence their racial Invisibility.

However, do they have any Psionic resistance as a consequence of thier natural ability and how far does the RP go in Amia with regards to the Psionic?

I generaly portray Oskar as being normal in all fronts except when he uses his Psionic ability to go invisible, is this allowed or not? After all, it is a Psionic ability.

It's given to you by Amia, so it's fine. any psionics beyond that, such as being a manifester or added powers would need a character request.

AFAIK they have no innate psionic resistance, like Illithid do.

Well, I do not play my monk as a psionicist, but I sometimes RP the projecting of emotions with her KI.

Example: A friend of the PC's was distraught, so as the PCs spoke, mine put her hand on the friend's foot, and projected calmness, reassurance, and a feeling of security.

Personally, I would not push the issue if the "recieving" PC were to disregard it completely. It's their PC, they play how they want. :D

No monk should be played as a psionicist, because they're not, and WotC can do several things I'd be banned for saying, for making monks into that.

What about Duergar and Psionics?

Since Duergar are meant to master Psionicists, and basically rarely use arcane magic, rather replacing it with psionics, how could this best be emulated by a class on Amia?

Arcane magic in NWN is the best way to represent both Wilders and Psions, with Sorceror and Wizard respectively. Psychic Warrior is best emulated with either Bard or Cleric, and Soulknife is best done with any non spellcasting melee centric build.

Monks are kind of the bastard child of 3.5. There's a lot of prestige classes that have them dabbling in other classes Mystic Theurge style but there's not too much that's about "The Monk" itself that I'm immediately aware of.
