And good stickies they are! Whatwith the recent clean-up, there's no excuse for anyone not to read this stuff. I mean, look at Requests. One sticky, instead of the five or so there used to be. One. Beautiful.

Well, minor tweaks is pretty much the reason they were introduced in the first place. At least one of the reasons. Not character-changing conversions from one profession to another.

Re-arranging feats/spells is indeed probably the biggest reason we introduced rebuilds. As long as you're not going from a wizzy to a Fighter/WM with zero roleplay because you wanna be tankier or somethin you're fine ;)

I'm interested in rebuilding one of my chars, but I'm a bit confused at the difference between the freebie and the self rebuild.

On self rebuilds:
Quote:
It means you are either delevelled to your desired level, or you start a new PC (new build, same person) from scratch.

Does that mean all the DM does is delevel the character lvl 1, and then gives you the XP that you had before the rebuild? If that's the case, then what makes the self different from the freebie? If not, I'm assuming the self rebuild is basically a reboot for the character.

Selfs, you don't get XP back.

Freebie you get your levels back. Self, you don't. We usually take you up to lvl 3 and send you on your way if you make a new character.

However, you get your stuff back on both self and freebie if they require a complete rebuild from scratch.

If not, freebies mean a delevel and relevel. Selfies mean a delevel and bai bai.
