Never underestimate how far someone will go just to piss other people off. Besides, the "griefers" log into A. Which is hak free. Not solving a thing.

Alright! Back on track with new talking points!
I'm of the firm belief that -if- HAK's were to be added to B, it would only be used as a test area with the ultimate goal being to add HAK's to both servers. Having one server with HAK's and the other without for the long-term haul, just seems a little silly in my book. However, putting HAK's on B for a few months to see how everything goes and being able to put some data behind the fears of the non-HAK'ers or the claims of the HAK'ers just makes perfect sense. If everything begins to go to Hell in a handbasket, then it's not too late to jump ship, but if everything goes off swimmingly, without a hitch, then the HAK's could be implemented on A, as well.
As it stands right now, all we can do is hypothesize about what may or may not happen. If HAK's were implemented on one server for a set amount of time and then have the hard facts looked at, then it would settle everything once and for all.

I only came to Amia because it was hak free. I stayed, of course, because it's a great server. Now, I might be pointing out my absolute idiocy by mentioning this but it took me years to finally figure out how to download and install the head/hand/feet override. I must admit that the idea of having to figure out how to download, unzip and install haks makes me a bit nervous. That being said, if the process can be dumbed down (and that would most likely have to be dumbed down even more than the head/feet override) I'm ok with using a hak if forced to. just my 2 cents.

Installing Haks is easier then installing overrides.
For one, the HAK folder exists already when you install NWN, you don't need to update or anything, so it should always be there. All you do is download, open the zip like the heads and hands override, then extract it to the folder called "HAK".
Your done. That's it.

The overrides folder already exists as of 1.69 patch. Installers are easy enough to make. Though I'd prefer a manual installation option as I dislike dealing with executeables when I do not need to.
Vista is picky about installers, especially on 64bit.

Vista is picky about installers, especially on 64bit. We'd have to have both available anyways for Linux and Mac players.
Speaking of which, if we get haks ask me how to make it as painless as possible for us. Simply writing the filenames in lowercase makes a world of difference.

HAKS are a lot easier than overrides, not in the least because you don't have to worry about what's already in the override directory. It's quite easy to overwrite your Amia heads if you import some override collection from another server.

I for one do support HAKs on B. B-mia isnt that populated, it is still under construction (though it works better than any construction site I know of), and those who are on B have usually been on A long enough to know that Amia has a website, where such a Hak could be found.
Ofcourse, I'm biased. I have about 6 gig og HAK's in my nwn folder, enough to play on the most HAK demanding servers like Aertheca and Myth Drannor, so I wouldnt mind one bit downloading a small HAK for B.
Disco has doen an amazing job with B, and I am all in favour of giving him more tools.

Placeables and tilesets is the current suggestion. Monsters could be added too, but I believe a part of the team does not want them as they cant have them on a then.

More like if you're going to add them just add them to both. If you're going to quote me, please quote what i'm saying.

Its exactly what you said. As the current situation is b is being haked and not both at once, (if both are ever haked) then you would not want monsters seeing you cant have them on a. Woots?

I'll throw my one and only butt kiss comment during this conversation, a real cheap shot if you will.
*Cough*
Disco has been working hard, don't you appreciate him enough to give him the gift of a small Hak tileset for the server? Are you lot really that unappreciative of Disco? You selfish bastards, tsk tsk.
*For Yurells sake, I am teasing*

Maybe we should propse an Cmia for the HAKs? Could add a whole string of small islands that just surfaced with volcanic activity or something. >_>

Not to mention that's a terrible idea. To use Disco's logic, we have nothing towards an even 50/50 split between A and B anwyays. Why would you ever add a 3rd?

Just what we need a bunch more islands using boats and such to get a round instead of walking everywhere

I don't see any reason why I can't HAK B if I can make a third server.
