Cause there is honestly not much options how to avoid fighting them in many areas. But I would say that killing animals is still against druidic oath. Do spiders and other vermin count?

What is the standard for a cleric PC to classify themselves as being a 'high priest' of their respective faith? Laura was ordained by Velsharoon/DM, so I am curious as to whether or not its DM ruled only, or if you need at least X amount of levels before being able to legitimately be a high priest.

if you excessively or needlessly kill or torture animals you get into trouble. You can hunt for food and pelts, etc. When it comes to actually fighting them, think of it as natural selection or survival of the fittest, your PC, presumably, being the stronger, is just natural way of life. Vermin and the like arent considered animals, but a druid might get mad if you killed their spider companion.

I've wondered this as well. The source book Power of Faerun may have an answer. But of my opionion it would be a mixture of level and decree of the church of the particular faith. Mostly the latter, depending on the size of the church and flock. A small village church might not have a high priest, but a lower level clergy. A large city church would have a high priest. But then to be a high priest you may need a certain class level ie stronger connection with the god.
Then again it may depend on the organisation of the church. The more lawful churches might have a more rigid system whereas a chaotic church all it takes is the priest to declare themselves a high priest.
Then again perhaps the gods choose who are their high priests.
Just personally... I would say that being high priest is more of a tittle connected to organization. So if you are just wandering around, serving your god, you can never be called "high priest" even if you are at max lvl and done great deeds. Of course if your specific god personally shows up and names you his high priest, it can be.
Also thx for druid info.

Another question: I remember an option to rescue your characters from Server Vault but upon logging in, I cant seem to find it. Was it a widget of some sort, activated by Rest menu? I cant really remember.

Neither! It's a chat command!
/s f_file show Vault (or Archive)

Thank you very much again Raua. Sadly it seems my characters were deleted (or at least they are not showing in Vault or Archive).
Was there an Archive wipe in the last, say, 2 years?

I have a question related to UMD. I found a shortsword for sale that is +4, keen, 1D6 acid, and onhit stun. It's also EVIL only... if my character is not evil, how much UMD would I need to use it?
The table is at the bottom of that page. Granted, it helps if you make the item in the toolset to get the value but you can cheat by going to a merchant (Hil'rash is best usually) and seeing how much you can sell it for. Double that number and it's roughly the item value. Doesn't work for everything, cause the 25k limit makes it hard to know the value of expensive items (like the Hoarite Spear of Vengeance, that's work like 130k I think), but it's something!
Generally the rule of thumb is 25 UMD (including CHA bonuses, of course) will let you use almost everything on the server. 30 will mean you can for sure use everything (there's only a few things 25 UMD won't cover).

Sometimes the Character sheet won't report them. Try looking in your combat logs for your saves -- If the adjustment still isn't there, we have a problem!

Is it possible for me to grab a DM in-game to have my two daggers gain the negative energy sonic visual in exchange for two greater mythals? (The forge won't let me do this)

Requires a Divine Mythal, which is evil because there only available super rare in DM events.
I think the forge would tell me that there are too many powers on the weapons still. Also, I can't take anything off these daggers and going from there without making them less powerful in the end. They both are rare daggers with +2 Regen, +4 Enchantment, and +1d6 elemental damage.
I don't require negative energy visual, I just wanted them to be different looking than my other daggers. I forgot that the neg visual takes better mythal (because for some reason it just does).
Also, How much of a bonus to Wisdom does the Owl's Wisdom scroll provide?
Like I stated in the other thread, +7.
I didn't know if that was a guess or not, so thanks.
Let me re-state my other question-
My character has two rare daggers with +2 Regen, +4 Enchantment, and +1d6 elemental damage (one fire, one sonic). I would prefer to have the elemental damage the same, or at least the visual to match on both daggers. How would I go about doing that considering that these weapons currently are beyond what can be crafted?
Owls insight is the druid spell. Owls wisdom is the normal wisdom spell for mages/clerics whatnot. Don't let shadey people sell you the cheaper version!
As for the daggers. "Visual effects don't count towards your power limit on an item." If you can't change them in-game with the mythal forge, ask a DM. They'll either help you change it or direct you to making a custom request.

Can both be used to potentially get +12 to Wisdom???
To an extent. There used to be a couple at Underport (different species and trading skill levels), and at least one of those could be found at L'Obsul, until it's leyline node binding point became mysteriously unavailable to the surface dwellers. There is a tiny chance that one more may appear in the future.
And then there are 30 000 merchants in well-known far-off places.

That node is broken for everyone. This was reported months and months ago....

How might a character go about learning a new language? OOCly i don't have masses of time free to sit in a classroom and learn in real time and i'm not sure if OOCly i could technically 'learn' a fantasy language. I notice most tend to have some words or phrases they say aloud but that most tend to prefix their IC speech with a tag to let others know what language they are speaking.
So back to the question, how would a character learn a new language and what might be required to do so?

You could approach the matter similar to the classical training montage seen in film where there are short scenes depicting the learning. In this the different scenes are different rp sessions. Classically there is an introduction with (epic) failure, then three to four skills that that are mastered (usually a scene where they start getting the hang of it but not quite yet) followed by a scene of mastery of the skill at hand. A similar method could be used to build up the rp.
No one will expect you to oocly know an entire new language. The phrases and words are more than enough for flavour (and can be overdone in rp with those not familiar with the rp jargon, but that is another matter). When speaking you can use the prefix to emulate the language using English. The errors that come with using a language can be portrayed through this medium as well.
What I would keep in mind is that there is some effort needed. Time will need to be invested in game for learning the skills. Add to that that one doesn't fully learn a language in a week. (Actual length needed up to DM discretion and surely in function of the rp done )
A character would learn a language the same way a RL person would, I guess? Either lots of book learning and memorization, or by becoming surrounded by people speaking that language and just picking it up in pieces. If you're asking if there are any accepted Amia conventions on how that sort of thing should be RP'd out, there really aren't. Carry around a book or two and make a point of reading it where people can see? Start speaking in your new language, but have to stop every sentence or two to ask someone "what's the word for <something>?" Whatever RP gestures satisfy you that your character has invested adequate effort are likely good enough. If you even RP the learning process at all, you'll have been more committed to the project than most.
EDIT: Curse you, sneaky ninja!

Are there other elemental variations for the Mummy Dust elemental option? My character seems to be stuck with the ancient air elemental. I was hoping there'd be a prompt upon choosing it to also choose which type of elemental, but.... nope.

No, there are not. Depending on what type you intended to choose, it may be possible to reskin it into preferable type by the DC, or, for example, if you would prefer an Earth elemental, Gear Guardian (construct) may be a better base.

Reskinning an elemental to a different type of elemental should not be a problem. You just need to explain a bit why. Why is your character more attuned to a fire elemental than with an air elemental. However if you want an exotic elemental, you will probably need to get into the details far more.

It was my understanding that the Air Elemental's stats are supposed to be general enough to fit being reskinned as a few other elementals. Which ones specifically, I do not know.

Librismortis shows a screenshot of a paladin/ftr/rog, strength based build, without Haste, Expertise, or Divine Shield, and shows it to have 59 AC. I was under the impression that 55 AC (56 with the ioun stone) was the upper limit for a strength build on Amia. Anyone have any idea how he did this? I'm hoping he will explain also, but didn't want to derail the topic further.
That also has a maxed Dodge AC cap (5 boots + 1 MA/Ioun + 4 Haste + 10 Divine Shield = 20 Dodge AC).
Any Paladin build with at least 10 Pally levels can do that (on Amia the bonus from Divine Might/Shield is limited to how many of the divine class levels you have). A 3 Pally with a 10 CHA mod will only get a +3 Might/Shield bonus; a 10 Pally with a 3 CHA mod will only get +3. 18 base CHA is a good middle ground on a balanced Pally build, cause with +12 CHA (easy to get) you get a nice round 10 mod.
It's rather disgusting how OP Paladins can be.
