Dark Immolation wrote: The last thing I'd want to see is Amia become a "Power Rangers" scenario. Where "Evil has popped up here!" and all the heroes ride out, squash it, and ride back to their cities and wait for it to happen again. You've already been seeing it for the last 4½ years on this server. It has nothing to do with evil being dumb, like Ron said. It has everything to do with being outnumbered by both good + neutrals and having them gather up on you once you've become known enough. Has happened several times with the Banites. And it's not the Banites, that provoke war on several fronts at the same time. If you look at what the Banites have done for the last couple of months... they've pretty much only hung out in Guldorand, offering protection to that village, while waiting for the new temple to be built. And after the temple was built, they declared the Crags as Banite territory, and banned every faction who had banned Banites from their areas for years already. And somehow... that's enough to put together yet another crusade, to "liberate" these lands from Banite oppression (even though the Banites have protected and offered economical support in the region, amongst other positive things). This mentality is shared by the DMs as well. Even though they don't like to admit it. Going back to Guldorand. The Banites made massive efforts to try and interract with and push a plot in Guldorand that would potentially raise support for the Banites. Not forcing them to convert to Bane, but just give the Guldorand NPCs a positive image of the Church and root for the Banites, and against the Banite opposition. We got virtually no DM response from this for several months. In all honesty. Then Mynna shows up. Bam... somehow, she manages to get all the NPCs together for an epic "Let's save Guldorand speech", after what... 2 weeks or something? When a DM couldn't do the same for us for months. It comes down to "Banites are evil. Therefore they must be destroyed". It's all chaotic stupid - the lawful good version. Black and white, and the good + neutral guys are seldom skilled enough RPers to fully emerge themselves into the setting, and leave their IRL perspectives, morals and values outside of the Rp scenario(s). Dark Immolation wrote: The major thing I see with evil being RPed on Amia is that it doesn't seem very goal-oriented. It's always "Let's see how we can piss people off today." I can only speak for the Banites on that. The Banites have always had numerous goals. And I pushed goals and ambitions quite hard during my first reign as Imperceptor. As of... the last year, we've pretty much decided against too much focus on goals and ambitions which would require DM attention. Because, we just don't get it, normally. And unfortunately, a lot of the stuff you'd like to work towards to achieve in Amia, require a DM at one point or another. Which pretty much just leaves you with a shit ton of effort and RP, that dies off halfway through. Quote: The most successful type of evil I've seen in my RP experiences is not the kind that shows up and makes demands out of the blue, but the kind that gains power, then slowly arises from the background under the guise of "doing the right thing". Which also happens to be the very least successful way of doing it on Amia. Because people will either metagame it or expose it through other means. 1 person gets into the evil group, and then leaves, for... whatever reason. All of a sudden everyone in Amia knows about it. I tried it on Darth. Nimien tried it. Gurth has tried it. Frey tried it. Metalien tried it. Dositheus tried it. Everyone has tried it. It just doesn't work. And there's no real power structure to infiltrate, to be honest. Cordor could be the one thing evil could infiltrate. But PCs ruling Cordor hasn't seen the light for several years. So... yeah. Evil infiltrating villain secretly accumulating power behind the scenes... is a very pretty ideal. Just doesn't work on Amia, unfortunately. Grymia wrote: The biggest thing about Evil, which I thought I could hack it on but really couldn't and thus why I don't really play my evil characters anymore is this: In order to really achieve with Evil, you need to: 1) Be patient. Going for the quick win only works if you have the resources honestly in place to both make the win happen, and back it up afterwards. 2) Think beyond the box. Think just beyond the typical 'Wow, I'mma turn people into zombies or threaten to kill them or enslave them' .. yes in many cases to really achieve these kinda threats, you need DM assistance. But, hard as DMs can be, they can sure make things interesting for ya even when you do fark up. I'll demonstrate with a screenie from Hispara Ralynn: Contextually, she was trying to jump for an item which was believed to be of value in what was being done. It was a long shot, but given she was fanatically devoted to her master, she attempted it regardless. Even with the results being a mistake, you can get some interesting RP out of it. 3) Accept that you by all realities are not gonna be looked on kindly, especially if you're open about your evilness. Play the cards right, and you can quite possibly make many of the good-aligned factions look foolish. You just need to find the vulnerabilities, and exploit them for all they're worth within reason. I think Evil, properly done and with a willingness to accept good's likely coming after you with a vengence.. can be done quite well. One thing I forgot to add: Enjoy the little things. This wisdom applies in Zombieland, and holds true for Evil on Amia. This entire post by Grymia holds true. Selmak wrote: You conveniently neglect the fact that Cordor has been destroyed once already. Cordor was destroyed by DMs, as it was requested by the designers, since a new version of Cordor was going to be put in... and instead of just saying "Ta-da. New Cordor popped up out of nowhere!", they turned it into a small and excellent plotline. It had absolutely nothing to do with evil being granted fruit for their labour. TormakSaber wrote: Quote: The biggest problem an evil faction faces is not defeat, but stagnation. It is very, very hard to accomplish anything meaningful in a world where the NPC's have so much control, and where the DM's in many cases don't want to see evil flourish and accomplish goals. Oh puh-leeze, don't even go there. Why? Because he's 100% correct? Anyhow. Module changes are difficult to achieve. NPCs keep the cities untouchable. People are people, and OOCly, everyone prefers love rather than fear. Playing evil becomes tedious and useless, if you base your efforts on the expectation of "winning". As I always told the Banites... just enjoy the ride. Ignore the end results. From the "OOC and IC Banite Guidelines"-topic in the Banite forum: Mr Mago wrote: # We do not play to win.
Even though the RP of following Bane is highly focused around success or defeat, this does not apply to Amia as a whole. Always remember, that you're playing a game. A game, where the goal is not the win in the end, but to enjoy the ride.
It is the RP in the progression of achieving our IC goals that should be fun and rewarding, not the absolute need of actually achieving them.

Personal feelings have no bearing whatsoever. The fact that the DMs (or at least, me) still even post on your forum should speak towards the fact that we care about doing things and accomplishing things with your faction. If the DM team was so corrupt and evil hating as you claim, they'd have simply banned evil and erased all traces of it wthout a reason and done away with it all by now. We have not. I see nothing related to North Korea at all, but that is at least a better attempt than the usual Nazi comparison. EDIT: O, and why you are complaining about goodd guys banding together to fight the bad guys, I have no idea, because this is what they do. That is the dyanmic, the thematic, the convention, in most all gaming, literature, fantasy, everything. Evil is proactive and changes the normally Good Aligned status quo. The Good Guys are reactive.

Except the bad guys don't have allmighty NPCs or a dragon behind their back. Its easy for the good guys to band together and do the annual Banite bashing, without any fear of repercussion. Thats what I perceive as outsider though.

The almighty NPCs and dragon are not out and about in the wilderness where the work is being done. The Banite NPCs are still pretty almighty, btw, so the scores are quite even there. This isn't a sentiment I'm carrying alone within the Team, either, I assure you, considering this post has been screened and discussed by the DM Team before being submitted to you. Get yourselves in check, and you're more likely to earn the favour of your peers; which does indeed mean putting your pride aside. Nekhy wrote: Did you ever wonder why many DMs would want nothing to do with the Banites?
It's simple: we're here for our personal enjoyment, as well as that of the others. But above all, our own personal enjoyment. TormakSaber wrote: Yes, and reading these topics and seeing your gross overreaction and how you spoke down to players in the IC topic when they said you were breaking PvP rules, I wonder why the DM team considers your faction a gross headache.
I wonder. The first two quotes are from a thread where the Banite faction was being called out on poor OOC behaviour. The last quote is from a thread where goody-goodies had made a blatant rule breaking in regards to a PvP incident, where undeniable proof was put forward. Yet the DMs still, somehow, miracelously, claimed that no rule breaking had occured. And thät happened just a week after two Banite players were banned by Brainsplitter for supposedly having broken the exact same rules, even though there was no evidence to support those bans. You can't bullshit me, Tormak. I've played on this server too long. I've spoken to too many DMs. I've spoken to too many players. I've seen too much. I've experienced too much. I've been unfairly treated, and I've seen others be unfairly treated. All DMs aren't anti-Banite. There are several DMs who I hold in very high regard. Gers in particular, as of late. But it's nothing new that both you, Tormak, and Brainsplitter, behave and reason like spiteful, hating children whenever you get the chance to throw a jab at the Banite faction. Don't try to bullshit me.

Personal feelings do not dictate how I treat any player. Ever. Nekh's words are not mine but they do ring true (not the part about personal enjoyment: That is her own post and it is a shitty post, DMs are here to enrich the server first and most of all. Personal Enjoment does not begin to come into it, though it is always nice to enjoy what you are doing on the server.): Simply look at the posts from you and Gurth in this topic, as well as basically any post from a Banite any time a DM must arbitrate, or a DM makes a comment regarding good and evil. You see yourselves as victims of a grand scheme, the martyrs for the cause of evil roleplayers everywhere, when it is not the case. You consistently act in a way that will earn you the ire of anyone that needs to deal with you, and so in the future, they do not want to deal with you. Until you fix your attitude, no one else's attitude towards you will change,. Until you stop seeing every word and every action as a personal attack against you and your faction, nothing will change, especially any attitudes towards you for making outlandish assumptions like you make on a nigh daily basis anytime a topic that can be tangentially related to good and evil comes up, like this topic here.
This is nothing I haven't said a thousand times before and will say a thousand times in the future. You are never interested in reading it, however, and so as far as I am concerned, I am done talking to you in this topic. I am a record and you are a brick wall. I am sure we will repeat it in the future in any more topics: you will do it because you feel you are exposing some grave injustice, some corruption in the system, and I will do it because there is not what you claim, and to the contrary, the DMs would like to work with you on things... provided you do not attempt to bite our faces off if something does not go your way, which you have a long and storied history of doing, both to players and to DMs.
I am not sure why you choose to air private posts from your faction forum, lone DM posts, but you do choose to omit the context that those posts were made in an attempt to make them look like they were made in some sort of arrogant attempt to enforce martial law on a group of roleplayers, to oppress you, when that is absolutely not the case. But as I said: Nothing I haven't said before, and I will say it again in the future, because I care, and I am (and many of the DMs are not) not what you claim me to be. I am not a petulant whining child. But these topics make you and your faction very much look like one. I am not trying to "shit you".

(...) I believe a problem is that the banites already portray themselves as the worst of the worst, as something everyone should remove if they have the chance. I often saw on Juliette how banites in amia forest preached how all shall fall under the tyrannic fist of Bane. Now, this extremely one sided image that is promoted does not help the faction at all if they are more powerful than most others, often are in pvp and constantly underline how evil they are. Instead I, and of course again this is my personal opinion, would have not tried to show such a one sided approach in the faction image. I would call the faith something like the "Sect of the Iron Law" that follows Bane, but in a slightly different style to gain some distance from people being able to quote lorebooks and say you need to be destroyed. You do not preach anything about tyranny openly, but that the Banites are a group devoted to law and they have the task to enforce even the slightest infringement with righteous harshness. You paint yourself as a dark church of helm from the style. The ultimate protectors of law. You lay rules upon the people of Guldorand, for instance adultry will be punished with death. You may not marry except in your own class. A thief will have his right hand cut off. Disrespecting a Knight of the Sect of the Iron Law in the slightest fashion will get you lashed if not worse if the offense was not a mild case. Go as far as to ban the creation of undead and you have the Church of Kelemvor off your back, and may even gain them as an ally if you play it right. Hell, you once even had the Eternal Order sign a treaty with you, stating they acknowledge your wordly right to rule a certain area as long as the laws of Kelemvor are not broken by you. Use the words righteousness, divine law, justice instead of tyranny, evil, etc. To become tyrannts you dont need to post lore in the "libraries of amia" forum about the book of tyranny, hatred and fear. You should write books justifying your actions as you are the guardians of order, not the enslavers of the pits of hell.

If your post was meant towards me: It is not a derailment but completely on topic, and only because I used the banites as an example does not mean in the least it cannot be applied on other factions. It is also not an insult in the least. Mago knows that I greatly respect him and his former faction and often agree with him.

Why do I air them? Because you're lying, Tormak. You're flat out lying. And now you're trying to cover up the fact that your shit stinks. The Banite faction has, overall, a very good relation to the rest of the playerbase. Or at the very least, I've always had very good relations to the vast majority of Amian players in-game. The forums are slightly different. Since my input and interraction on the forum has often evolved around heated debates and controversial topics. In general... it mostly seems to be DMs who considers me an asshole. Or considers the Banite faction to be full off assholes as well, for that matter. I could start going through additional old topics and posts. Posts that you and other DMs have made outside of the "private" faction forums, that are just as "bad" as the quotes I just posted, and in many cases... worse. And that's not getting into the MSN logs I have. MSN conversations with you and other DMs, where we've discussed the Banites, the DMs and how it all comes together on the server. Those quotes, in particular, would make you look even worse, Tormak. Specially after stating that all DMs are impartial and you don't let feelings get in the way. Which is complete bull. But rather than posting MSN quotes... which isn't really fair. I'll just quote my response to Brainsplitters allegations of poor OOC conduct, from the Banite forum. Mr Mago wrote: My offences on Amia:
In my early days, I wouldn't doubt if I did some muling or twinking. Nothing I remember now though, but at the time, 99% of the entire server did it, so I can't see why I would be an exception.
After Darthion was exposed as a Banite, while still in the Cordorian PC guard, and some characters did their best to forever (censored) him up, I went on a PC killing rampage, and after that, an NPC killing rampage in the Grove, killing those elementals that used to be there. One DM possessed one of the NPCs though, made it invulnerable, raised its strength to 100+ and basically killed Darth with it. After which I respawned.
A year ago, as I was still leader of the Banites, I got framed for "twinking". Basically, the twinking/muling rules stated that I had twinked Hort for giving him a Fire Giant King's belt as an IC reward for a few missions which were assigned to him within the Church. The penalty was to have 3 years of gathered equipment and 34 million gold removed from Darthion. After that, I left Amia.
A few months after I came back, I was found guilty for boss farming and likely harassing two other players. The penalty was a 6 week long ban.
I have probably been accused for a lot other of things throughout the years. Supposedly having metagamed, comes to mind. But I never intentionally metagamed anything, and I've always aimed to separate OOC knowledge from IC.
What is mentioned above, are the offences I committed on Amia.
I'm no saint. I've done my fair deal of (censored). For that I've received penalties.
With that out of the way.
It really is rather disappointing, to see the DM team putting forward such a post, in such a manner, with those statements in it.
I know that WonWon likely hates me both as a person and a player. For that reason, I've always avoided his DM events, since I knew he wouldn't want me there.
I also know, that a lot of the DMs dislike me. On behalf of some, I wouldn't why. On behalf of others, I can probably think of a few conflicts which may have gotten them aggrevated with me.
There are only four persons left I still respect in the current DM staff. Tormak, Yossarin, Disco and Uberuce.
Why is that?
Because, throughout the years, the various DM staffs on Amia have given me sooooooooo much more (censored), than I've given them.
After my rampage with Darthion, after he had been exposed as a Banite while still enlisted as a Cordorian Guard, I ended up on the DM blacklist. I didn't receive a DC for more than 9 months, although I played and RP'ed 12+ hours per days.
On several occasions, I had DMs randomly spawn unbeatable beasts against Darth, out of nowhere, just to see my character die, so that I would have to respawn and lose gold. I would encounter the Fire Giant King, who had infinite amount of heal potions. At one point, while standing in Cordor, I had an unbeatable dragon attack Darthion, out of nowhere, with a grumpy DM trying to push me down.
I can live with that though. If the DM's don't like me, detest me, want to disfavour me, then that's fine by me. This is a game, and I, as a person, won't commit suicide over it.
But what I find hard, is to see the DM team making statements such as this, on behalf of an entire faction.
Are you even aware, of what you're saying? Are you that pompous, self-obsessed and arrogant?
I created the "Banites" with Darthion almost 4 years ago. Dositheus had made the Zhents before that, be he was as good as gone, and there wasn't a Banite following, at all, on Amia.
Throughout those years, I've recruited, RP'ed with and seen all of the past and current leaders of this faction. Nimien, Gurth, Arturus, Frey, Scylla, Katsumi.
Throughout those years, I can rightfully say that the only ones who ever did (censored) for this faction, was... at first, Pax Imperium (best DM Amia has ever had, in my opinion), then Tormak, then Yossarin, then Nekhy.
Throughout those years, the only thing the DMs have ever done for this faction, was the Worm in the hole-plot, the one when the Banites took over Wharftown.
Before that plot, no DM attention had been given to the Banites what so ever. Hell. It took more than 1½ years to even get a temple for the faction. And it took about as long to get our own forum.
After the Gurth-Frey OOC controversy, the Banites were given the cold hand... again. No DM would have ANYTHING to do with the Banites.
That pretty much nailed it for me.
I played on Amia for more than 14+ hours per day. I made a huge effort and investment into developing this faction, both for those within the faction, and for every other player on the entire server as well. The goal was to entertain all players, not just the Banites, and enrich the servers RP climate.
For the next coming 5 months, the DM's pissed on my efforts. DM's wouldn't respond on the DM channel. They would ignore my tells, my plot suggestions and the progress of the faction.
We managed to recruit 30+ active, unique players, with little to no OOC bickering what so ever. We included the entire server into our RP, and the faction was thriving.
The first DM to even give a hint of recognition, was Yossarin. I was told, so many times, during this period that... "The DMs don't want anything to do with this faction, because of the OOC drama which Frey and Gurth caused", and apparently, I, as the new faction leader, should have to take the consequences of their (censored)-up.
Once the entire server became aware of what this faction had grown to be, a lot of DMs all of a sudden decided to poke their noses into it.
I got 50 DCs in less than 1½ month. The 5 months prior to that, I had gotten 1... maybe 2 DCs. Had my RP suddenly improved by gigantic proportions?
The DMs still wouldn't do any plots with us. No one really wanted to get involved with the faction, still, but it was OK to stop by, watch the great RP we had going, reward a few DCs, or possess an NPC for a small event (such as a sacrifice).
After I left, the faction went back to its former (censored) up state of OOC bitching, bickering and whining.
Did the DMs ever do something to fix that? Did they ever make a contribution, to hopefully improve things?
(censored) no.
What the DMs have always done, through the entire history of this faction, is whine and bitch themselves, of how much whining and bitching there has been in this faction.
We asked you guys to remove Nimien from faction leadership, because she was inactive and completely incompetent as a leader. It took 3 months, to remove Nimien. By that time, the faction was already as good as dead.
And what of the situation between Frey and Gurth?
The DMs were so damn (censored) nervous to side with either, that they decided to side with neither.
Sensitive matter. Let's not take any actions at all, was the mentality.
What did you do after that? You ignored the faction. Completely.
Have you done anything during the split of the Church, when Frey and Arturus decided that the (censored) wasn't flying their way any more, and that they'd leave and take as much of it with them as possible?
No. You sat back. And complained, about us acting like immature (censored) with OOC whining and bitching.
And now... you come here, and say that we're (censored).
We're the lost sons and daughters of Amia, and we might never be accepted again.
That the DMs has had "enough", and that no DM wants to deal with this faction any more (except for Tormak, who's the BIG EXCEPTION here), and that those players in this faction atm, who's never done (censored) in harms way, have to suffer because of it.
Just like I, and the entire faction, had to suffer from Frey's and Gurth controversy back in the days.
You should be ashamed of yourself.
Truly ashamed.
I have often proclaimed Amia as having the best staff in NWN. But that's the end of that.
You have some true jewels, in your staff. Namely TormakSaber, Yossarin, Disco and Uberuce.
Those are the guys that keep you floating, and I hope you (censored) highly appreciate their efforts.
But to the rest of you, I could care less.
Some of you have hated me for ages, for reasons I don't know, and likely won't ever know.
Overall, I've been treated as (censored) during the vast majority of time I spent on Amia, and I'll likely forever be treated as (censored).
So for me, this black listing by the DMs won't have much effect. I've learned to play with the DMs disfavouring me.
But for everyone else, in this faction, who's a genuine good person, player and RP'er, I truly feel sad.
Sad, and disappointed. That the entire DM staff, would state something like this, after having acted the way they have, in the past, towards this faction.
EDIT: Typos, spelling, clarifications. Yeah... your shit still stinks, Tormak.

I'm not sure what your point is. We've established that some DMs do not like you. It does not affect your treatment in game. The logs you have are years old and things change and opinions evolve. I am not entirely sure of your point here. Would you like every DM fired? What is your angle? I am telling you, there is no grand conspiracy. Against anyone. The fact that you have the biggest faction area in the entire module, the most powerful NPC guards in the entire module of any PC faction and of many NPC cities, (you have had multiple faction bases. Large ones, ones with customs cripting, custom merchants, lots of time and work and dedication put into them.) as well as (thus far) pretty much free reign in the Skull Crags to do as you've seen fit, to the point where DMs have blocked attacks on your castle because of rule breaches and other situations. You were not "Framed", btw. But I will let Yossarin handle that one, should he choose to. One cannot be "Framed" for twinking, considering the item history and tracking tools we have; and you left subsequently of your own volition. You were not banned, you were treated exactly the same as any player in any situation would have been, regardless of your seniority on the server and status as a faction leader. You were stripped. And when you came back, within 48 hours an entire gearset was handed to you by your epic friends, something that is dubiously legal considering you were stripped for twinking in the first place and the lesson is that you should earn things the hard wya, but you were not disciplined for this action and your gear was left on your personage. There is no "DM blacklist". I do not know where that odd idea started. If a DM does not award a DC, that is their own personal choice. Quote: On several occasions, I had DMs randomly spawn unbeatable beasts against Darth, out of nowhere, just to see my character die, so that I would have to respawn and lose gold. I would encounter the Fire Giant King, who had infinite amount of heal potions. At one point, while standing in Cordor, I had an unbeatable dragon attack Darthion, out of nowhere, with a grumpy DM trying to push me down. This is solely reflective of old DMs werewere since disciplined severely for their actions and were subsequently either fired from DMing or left Amia. They have no bearing on the current team or the server. I do not know why it is brought up. Such does not happen today. I refuse to speak of anything regarding Frey, gurth, Metalien, You, or anyone else involved in that entire... situation. End. Of. Topic. ~ I still fail to see what you intend to accomplish and moreover don't uite understand why I'm being singled out here. You don't even play here anymore, man. You come off like an old man who walks into his high school reunion and lets loose with all of the gurdges he held senior year of high school. And if you are so concerned about the DMs liking your faction, then doing what you are doing here is not helping, least of all because what you are saying in the context that you are syaing it, is absolutely untrue.

Still not seeing how Mago's opinion will sway the DM's into not liking the rest of the faction. Unless it is customary to look at things in such a narrow view.

This type of expression is natural, not to be beaten with a whip, but taken on the chin, heard and listened to, not instantly defended against like a fortification. These insights could prove to be helpful in future. It is akin to when a DM finally unleashes themselves from the shakles of DMship and are free to express -exactly- what has been on their mind and bugging them for years. It appears Mago has now relinquished himself from the tethers that once bound him...now he can speak freely with no repercussions coming back upon him or his faction....I think it takes alot of balls to do such a thing, and DMs should not take it so personally. Live, bleed, learn.

Sorry for the off topic post. Here is another post from the Banite forums, good stuff. Zee wrote: I have a suggestion. This is just a suggestion from someone who has been on both sides: DM/Admin and Good old fashioned player noone knows.
If you have something ascerbic to say to an individual or several individuals-- I do not care if you are a DM or if you are a player-- Please by all means send a PM. It will be equally effective in giving the needed outlet for frustrations without dragging the rest of us into it.
There are a lot of us here in this faction who come here to read information about our guild. I have avoided forums on servers for a very long time due to the nature of many posts which have left a bad taste in my mouth. It took a lot of convincing for me to register on these forums. This thread is an example of why.
We who are not involved in whatever ooc feud may be going on, do not wish to read the venom. It makes us feel uncomfortable and disheartened. It takes away from what would normally be a positive gaming experience.
I mean this with all due respect to the people involved, as I have an appreciation for each of you and have grown quite fond of all of you. I do understand the need to publicly defend yourself upon feeling publicly attacked, but in the future, it would be greatly appreciated.
I LUFF YOU ALL!!!!

Why am I posting?
Because you tried to make false claims. You tried to twist the truth.
The Banite NPCs (particularly after the nerf) aren't the most powerful NPCs on the server. I know this. You know this. Stop trying to put forward that bullshit.
Multiple bases?
We've had one temple prior to the current one.
The reason you're singled out, atm, Tormak... is because you're the one who's been trying flamebait Banites the last couple of weeks on the forum. Including me. Making bullshit statements, trying to portray Gurth as a complete asshole with nothing to back it up.
At the same time, you're trying to portray yourself and other past DMs as flawless. I mean... it couldn't have been more obvious when you stated that there's no personal bias amongst the DM team towards the Banite faction or evil on Amia. Which there clearly is. -Everyone- who's played evil on Amia, has experienced this to some degree at one point or another.
You're coming off as hypocrits. You've been doing that for quite a while. It's time you get off your e-peen high horse and smell your own crap.
And it's funny that you brought up DM blacklists. I have had DMs, both current and former, admitting on MSN that such has existed. Lol... Tormak. I think even you admitted to its existence on MSN once.
I know you're trying to keep up a public image here. But do you even recall the conversations we've had on MSN? Both in regards to other players, DMs and the server as a whole.
Like I said. You can't bullshit me. I see you succeed, to some degree, with others on this forum... even though they don't deserve it. And you simply need to stop doing it.
Now... several of the new DMs, have absolutely nothing to do with this. And hold no blame for past screw ups. Several of the new DMs are excellent DMs and good people, for all I know, and I don't want any of this to reflect upon them.
But Amia has had a messy past. I know of it. I bet that quite few other players know as much as I do. And I won't have you, Tormak, or any other DM, go unchallenged in making bullshit claims that will clear out your history.
Oooh... and I'm not an official representative of the Banite faction any more. So they shouldn't have to take shit for me voicing my personal opinion (again). We had enough of that when the Banite faction was almost denied their new faction area because of the staffs discomfort towards me, as a person.

The post was in light of some of the replies in this thread. I know that there's a lot of excellent RP and fun coming out of all this. After all, allowing crusades like these to happen, was the OOC ambition and intent of the Banite faction. And by all means, do I encourage the type of conflict RP which Amia has finally begun to receive healthy doses of. Sorry if it came off as me bashing the good guys efforts.

Mago, I can't say that what you're doing right now is going to get you any sympathy. Rage posting may be a great way to vent, but it doesn't win hearts and minds. If nobody wants to deal with you it's because they know that sooner or later you're going to tack up a quote from them. Have you got any juicy ones with me in them, 'cause those would be super.

I said "of PC factions and more than some NPCs". Your guards beat pretty much every city that isn't Cordor or a plot-reinforced Kohlingen, which is not always viable and can be easily stopped. Your guards beat every other town and faction's guards hands down because they were allowed to be made by player in the faction, instead of getting the template guards we normally give a faction. IN that respect you were actually treated better than any factio has ever been, except the old Shadowflames who were since removed and now have nothing. Two temples is still multiple. You could also count the Gentleman's Social Club in Cordor as well, before it shut down, since it saw use by Banites, who make up most all of Amia's Zhentarim. Quote: At the same time, you're trying to portray yourself and other past DMs as flawless I believe this will be the 3rd time I said we're not flawless in this topic. Quote: t couldn't have been more obvious when you stated that there's no personal bias amongst the DM team towards the Banite faction or evil on Amia. Which there clearly is I believe this is also the third time I've said that not liking a player or a faction has no bearing on how you are treated in game. Because any decision goes by a full DM team, a player or even a few individuals that 'hate' a single player will find their decisions overruled if needed by the DM team. I am not on a high horse. You are baselessly attacking the DM team for roughly the dozenth time or so, in public. You and your faction members (at least, the very high profile ones.) are nigh famous for doing this, along with other specific players. Quote: And it's funny that you brought up DM blacklists. I have had DMs, both current and former, admitting on MSN that such has existed. Lol... Tormak. I think even you admitted to its existence on MSN once. It is a "bias list". Not a "blacklist". It is a list that at one time (no longer, currently) existed so that DMs who had issues with layers could declare their bias and thus avoid going into prolonged interaction with those players for fear that it would color a response to a situation. It was designed as a way to get around the very thing you accuse us of and it worked splendidly, for the most part, as there will always be situations when you are the only DM online and you need to deal with the person you dislike, but such is life. Amia has had a messy past in some regards but I do not see a reason why you and your faction feels the need to carry this attitude going forward. I am not attmepting to "clear out history" or sweep anything under the rug. What has happened has happened and frankly I see little reason to dredge it all out now when it is done and over with like you insist on doing. It is unprofessional. We continue to extend the olive branch and find it wrenched out of our hands and stepped on, especially when topics like this come forward. And so yes, it is no surprise that some DMs continue to find dealing with your faction disasteful, when they must walk on eggshells or else their actions are reported to you or Gurth who then go off on a crusade in MSN or the forums or in game demanding satisfaction, like a duelist wielding the glove. It has happened several times. As for your official status regarding the Banite faction, I do not think you can avoid being associated with them, simply because you have been around as long as you have. You continue to post in their forums, you continue to stand up for them and defend them on the forums. You do not really have a choice in the matter; much like how people are preconditioned to read my posts in the manner that they will. I'm not making false claims, I am (again) defending myself and the DM team from things that are being dredged up, things that happene dyears ago, and in some cases happened before I was even a DM. These things have no bearing on the current DM team and should be left to be water under the bridge, but as long as you continue to bring them up in public like it is a grand revelation (surprise: peope mess up, I guess?), the you will find that the same emotions you feel coming form the DM tema and other players will remain, and possibly spread to new players and DMs who were not involved in the conflict to begin with and were really jsut trying to lend a hand, but now find themselves in the sights of a player still weidling the power of a decision made 3 years ago, whether or not the decision was rightful. You need to drop it, all of it, the victim act, the hateful rumor spreading, the dredging up of old, hashed over dozens of times material, all of it. You need to move on. ~~ I also do not know why you are posting PMs as if to weild them like a threat. He was warned of his forum conduct, of which has been terrible, and of which he has recieved 2 forum bans for previously, and so has very little lenience toward him. He was not informed of a ban or indeed, he would have been banned right now and unable to send you that PM. He was warned that if his forum conduct continued, he was going to be banned. I do note that none of my half dozen PMs to him were sent to you, merely a clipped off version of his post, and a frantic message that he was going to be banned, which tells me that he did not read the PMS I sent to him. That I will not be posting, because I repsect privacy. I will not be ganged up on here like bullies harassing a child on the playground. It is utterly unprofessional from all of you involved.

Yeah, respect to where its due Mago, and you know I respect and admire you in many ways, but you need to just clam up and step back mate.
You of all people should know this fight isn't worth fighting. You've obviously experienced lots of (censored) up stuff on this server and its not healthy to lurk the forums and fling poo at Tormak or the other DMs when you feel like you need to defend the banites.
Tormak aint perfect, he admits to that, but he works damn hard for the server as a whole, and I don't believe he wants to see the banites whither and die, I really don't think anyone does.
So just relax man, let us make up our own minds about the DMs, there's no need to shout and scream for justice like your doing.
It would be hard to continue playing on a server if you felt like you'd been cheated or if you were fed up, but you did the right thing, you just exited the server. Please don't drag the rest of us into a pointless squabble with the DMs.

What Vay is saying is right on the money. You can't turn every thread into a battleground.
Besides, until this thread took a nasty detour, we were actually engaging in a decent discussion that might have gone somewhere. Don't screw it up.

TormakSaber wrote: I am not on a high horse. You are baselessly attacking the DM team for roughly the dozenth time or so, in public. You and your faction members (at least, the very high profile ones.) are nigh famous for doing this, along with other specific players. Uh... baselessly? Yeah... like, when I baselessly posted quotes from the Banite forums with two DMs and the Head DM had a mental slip and admitted to DMs having stayed the hell away from the Banite faction in the past? The accusations are very real, very true... and you need to start thinking of something better to reply with other than: "Mago is simply incorrect". TormakSaber wrote: Quote: And it's funny that you brought up DM blacklists. Wait. I thought there was no bias? And no lists at all. TormakSaber wrote: And so yes, it is no surprise that some DMs continue to find dealing with your faction disasteful, when they must walk on eggshells or else their actions are reported to you or Gurth who then go off on a crusade in MSN or the forums or in game demanding satisfaction, like a duelist wielding the glove. It has happened several times. Right... so there is actual bias towards the faction, still? You need to stick with one cover up here, Tormak, and not go back and forth. The DMs screw up occasionally. The Banite faction has in the past reacted fiercely towards such screw ups, much due to the fact that you and other DMs have had a well known dislike for the faction, and many Banites have throughout perceived that you've been out to get them. This one goes both ways. The Banite faction is partially to blame for it, and the DMs are partially to blame for it. TormakSaber wrote: As for your official status regarding the Banite faction, I do not think you can avoid being associated with them, simply because you have been around as long as you have. You continue to post in their forums, you continue to stand up for them and defend them on the forums. You do not really have a choice in the matter; much like how people are preconditioned to read my posts in the manner that they will. True. Even though I'm not playing, the Banite faction and this server has been a major part of my life so far. I will seek to protect what I hold dear, even though now a days its with more limited means. TormakSaber wrote: I also do not know why you are posting PMs as if to weild them like a threat.
To be fair... Tormak. You've been an ass towards a lot of players. And a lot of players haven't deserved it. I just found it ironic, seeing how... well. The quotes I made in relation to the PM says it all. You're coming off as hypocrits, as I stated earlier. And you're not improving yet.

True enough. I'll step back.

I can post them if you'd like Edit: and also, if Magos words can cause a stir in current Banites, enough to ake them jump up and scream "he doesn't speak for us", al be it, OOCly with no bearing on the faction whatsoever, then surely there must be some substance to his words.

Um, normally people say "This isn't my opinion, you don't speak for me" when they disagree or don't want to be lumped with people they generally onsider stupid, ignorant, crazy, or otherwise wrong. If his entire faction were to say that, it would in fact reflect very badly on his words.

They as a faction don't wanna deal with the stuff he has raised, and they know that if they supported him, they would be faced with more of the same stuff they face now. Now that he is dead he can speak the truth, without repercussions upon the faction.

I don't speak for the faction, only for myself... and they want to emphasize that fact, so that the DMs don't punish the faction as a whole, for me calling out DMs and voicing my personal opinions.
Which has happened numerous times in the past. And isn't fair towards those players in the Banite faction who have absolutely nothing to do with all of this.

Honestly...I just want to win once. I know it sounds lame and probably pathetic..but yeah...one time at least...
Of course I know in the end I'll lose, but at least give me the chance to feel like I've accomplished something before I get trounced.
As it stands I feel like my hands are tied in terms of changing the place my character dwells. I can't attack places of my enemies, can't make items, or do anything besides:
Talk with other players PvP other players
I tried both.
Mr Bennhundred knows how that turned out....tho I'll keep the details out this conversation.
Sufficed to say I feel now like I really can't do much at all...save chat and fight.
Edited: This is not some attempt to attack DMs in any way so much as simply a plea for help

If you want to 'win', you need to do it like everyone else: Earn it through roleplay.

Funny that you mention that Tormy.
You should know I -DO- RP.
When I say let me win for once...what I mean is:
You can start by acknowledging the post in the Tarkuul topic. That'll be a start to letting me win by at least letting me be a council member..if not Speaker.
As it stands, I have made many posts, and have been in Tarkuul, and have been RPing alot more than you realize.
I can't help it if goodly folks always come in and halt everything through PvP.
From now on I am opting for no PvP.

If you want to be a council member or the Speaker, you will earn that privelege in character. I'm sorry, you'll not be given it becauuse you ask for it OOCly because you want to win. I am actually a little offended that you make that demand of me. Just a little.
Just because there isn't a reply doesn't mean your post has not been acknowledged.
