I guess it depends on how your summen works RP wise.. If the Treant is helping you becouse of some agreement or as a friend, then its kinda F'ed up to pull him into a place where he would actually catch on fire. I guess if your NE and dont care its a means to an end then by all means, summon your wood man into a place of fire and lava. Really, the Ice might not dig the Lava eather, but im not sure if the heat would have any effect on something like that.. would it melt it? *shrug* I guess having a Fire Elemental in the under water areas would be kinda.. odd too, no?

Sure. Like I said, I don't doubt some legit RP reason your Druid might not summon something in a certain area, but I also reserve the right to justify doing it myself with legit RP reason as well.

So in other words, Willow is evil? *snickers*

I've mentioned Willow's alignment before in other threads, but I rather not anymore. Makes it funner if people think she's evil, good or neutral. ;)

But getting back on track, I don't think it takes an evil character to summon a Treant to help them fight fire giants. Fur burns easily too in a lot of cases, as do feathers. Point is, these creatures, along with the PC, usually have spells to help them resist or endure through the pains of fire. I've never seen anyone say anything about a panther, wolf or hawk in the spires. Are Treants somehow better or more important? I would think not. They're enduring the pain of battle along with your animals, elementals and PCs. And frankly, that's kind of the point, isn't it?

Actually you are right, we just need cast spells to protect against elements, I have to cast it on my elf and my hawk too. In the end we all burn and probably a giant tree will burn slower than a tiny elf.

Difference between an animal with Fur or a Ice Elemental though, is these two creatures dont take 50% more damage from fire.. Well the Ice Elemental might, but a furry animal or bird whos feathers would melt, dosnt. But it still makes a vaild point.. if it would be cruel to take a Treant down there, then odds are it would be cruel to do the same with a Furry animal.

But Eh, most people have no consideration for their summens.. NG druid would send their pets to die and likly not think twice about it. I suppose its more of a personal peave.. but really this all depends on the story Del uses.. i mean if its her slave and cant argue the point, then ya sure, walk through lava while on fire. If its a 'friend' that agreed to aid her in defending the forest, which is far more likly.. then it would be wrong to have it in a valcano or whatever the Spires is, fighting giants nowhere near a forest.
