Amia has allowed psionics since.... Late 2005? I think Torin is the first psionic character on the server that wasn't an NPC. I could be wrong in that recollection.

I was told several times by Dms in the past that Such classes were not allowed. This being said it doesn't appear to be uncommon that older characters are 'grandfathered' in to the rules.

In the case of Shadow and Snow elves...

You can no longer request such... Yet some people still have pc's with those races.

I don't consider older characters being "grandfathered" to the rules. If Shadow and Snow Elves are no longer playable or requestable via players, that doesn't mean older players should have to archive their character. That would be unfair to the players that requested such character, got it approved, and spent countless hours playing such.

If a new rule comes out that Aasimars are no longer playable, does that mean the DMs have the right to remove Matthew? You'd see it as unfair. I hope an argument doesn't start about this.

Starting a discussion to remove Matthew?

:( :| :)

But seriously, no, that's not what anyone's suggesting.

That was exactly my point. We still have those characters even though they are no longer 'Allowed' simply because they were approved and given before hand. It would be unfair to remove a platinum race when, (especially in my case with my Shadow elf) They had a LOT of work and effort put in to them to get them in the first place. Who knows if the Team has changed their minds on classes and Races since. In my experience Consistency does not seem to be across the board. One day some one will tell you one thing the next they tell you another.

Like wings and Cloak models. It's been said you can't hide your wings with a Cloak... it's not allowed.

It's also been said you cant hide your nasty pale master arm with out getting it approved by a dm first. Is that still the standard? I couldn't say I would have to ask a dm to see if they changed their mind son it because I don't think I know where the Pale master thing is posted on the forums only that it was announced IG via should by Burning Out Bright from Top side. Claoks and wings... are in some strange place on the forums...

Torin is not grandfathered. Hell, a psionic character was approved after my return as a DM - a Duergar Psychic Warrior.

Hide your bone arm all you want but I strongly believe it's not as simple as putting a glove and a sleeve on. Feel your arm in a robe, then put a stick in the other sleeve and look how it reacts and looks, draped around it. It looks and feels and appears very very different. This means if you're gonig to disguise your bone arm, at least please actually put some effort in. Invest in some padded gloves. Invest in tighter padded enclosed sleeves. If you care about hiding the arm, actually try to hide the arm.

Shadow Elves and Snow Elves were removed because their lore was incredibly hyper niche and specific and also because they were not actually applicable to Faerun. They were hyper rare niche races and so they were removed, with the remaining ones being scions of a dead and going extinct race in only a few generations.

You can hide aspects of being a Palemaster. You just have to be cleaver. Decay aroma = Perfume. Bone hueish skin = Makeup. Arm = Cloth or find a host of skin to pull over it.

TBH I've always hated this 'explanation' of why.

It made sense for the races - they were extremely xenophobic and not expansive, and as elves had extremely long gestation times, and without branching out would fall to incest and disease, dying out. You can hate the explanation all you want but it's honestly what would have happened to the races given the lore written as it was, and that's why they were phased out.

You also get the privelege of playing a charactyer concept that few if anyever get to play, which is said scion of a dying race, last of your kind.

If we're altering races again, I really want a Luskan subrace.

If you are decaying still, you are a poor palemaster. Read your level progression. You actually mummify yourself, which keeps you from decaying.

But lets not get into the realms of telling others how to RP characters. I have a palemaster and by no means is he a festering bag of maggots. He managed to preserve himself quite nicely and looks fine, if not a bit waxy...you know..due to the hard skin. I think what is confusing here is that it's always brought up that we play by 3.5 rules, but almost everything in game associated with that is hidden in a thread somewhere and lost to people who weren't there when it was created. Can we get a thread of existing, accepted prc's, classes, skills available and the like that is easilly accessed by all. I know there are Warlock Skills out there and I want in. If we need an example of the 3.5 to 3.0 confusion, take a look at my Sorcerer. All he wants is a common spell under 3.5, but its a special request here. Under 3.5 shifter is a race, not a class (some of the specifics of this would ruin RP for others), ect... If we are playing 3.5, lets play 3.5 and quit making it such a pain for others. Spell it out for us so we can quit wasting our time. Pleaaasssse
