Also with the greatest of respects, maverick it isnt in your authority to give warnings. You arent a dm. However if lutra decides to give me a formal warning toward a forum ban i would be more inclined to heed it.

You are out of date here. I don't know why you're opting to pick a fight with any staff member on questions of authority, much less one labeled "ADMINISTRATIVE DEVELOPER."

Is Terra a DM as well? She's an Administrative Developer. Not that I believe it is right to ignore any staff memeber, especially any one with the term 'Admin' somewhere in there, I just was confused, because I didn't know Terra was a DM.

Terra isn't, no.

The current devs/admin that hold a double position (albeit more focused on dev) are:

Maverick
Msheeler
PaladinOfSune

(and Disco is still the Amia-Overlord. But just like Ao, he keeps his existance a mysterie and doesn't grant divine blessings. He can make the world burn though)

I remember Disco before he ascended to the admin-heavens.

It mostly has to do with forum/module access. It is a bit confusing I know.

Do human subraces keep their 1 extra skill point per level?

Thanks!

Not if their race changes to Outsider, Fey, or anything-but-Human. The Human skill point has nothing to do with the Quick to Master feat, but rather the act of actually having "Human" as your predominant race. This means Genasi and feytouched as well as any special request character that has their main-race changed will lose it.

Genasi, and Feytouched are human subraces that alter your base race, and so they take the skill point away.

Thank you.

If I may speak against the DM team here, I think it was mostly laziness. Quite honestly, I sent PMs to people asking about this stuff, I made a few nice, beautiful posts about this, and an OOC post in the DM event section. Then, later, something was posted along the lines of 'we are ignoring the fact that the West still shouldn't really line the Rest, we are ignoring the fact that a city that lost democracy multiple times would not simply 'not feel like elections', we are ignoring the fact that certain (and like, all PC members) council members are missing and/or dead.

It's a fair, democratic city now.

It better not be, because it completely shits all over the characters of Tristana, Lanie d'Cordor, Evetal Savannah, and Alice Dearing. Among a great deal of other things and longstanding, decade-or-longer lore pieces.

The system hasn't changed. It is getting reformed and there will be elections in light of that.

There is no such thing as fair and democratic place in the FR universe. A republic is not necessarily a democracy at this point. Cordor also never had real democratic traditions even during the era of the Commonwealth as it was more a populist republican dictatorship rather than a real republic. Also, for most people the improving quality of life and the peace and prosperity can be more important than an election, especially if there are no actual traditions there.

However, I am fairly sure that the mention of conventions and tribunals are institutions that the citizens are initiating that are suggesting the opposite of oligarchy or despotism....considering that they are more democratic institutions that the current constitution allows.

Regardless, in this case the city and the citizens had issues with the current system and they are voicing their displeasure since before the most recent election. They are the ones who called for a change and thus it is occurring and elections will be held in light of the change that they proposed.

There were multiple reasons for that. First and foremost the constitution (as many other DMs implied it before me) itself that was furnished in late 2014, early 2015 is badly constructed and written and almost impossible to work with both ICly and OOCly because certain parts are just dumb. It is what happens when non-lawyers write such thing. We (the team) wanted to change for over a year now.
Another reason is that most of the agendas that goes against the centralization of the city were pushed...or financed it rather.... by PCs who either stopped playing or disappeared for months or nearly a year around that time. Thus those agendas faded away or failed in general. Not to mention that the majority of the elected governors were also PCs who abandoned their office and the population reflects on that in general. Life goes on in Cordor without PCs too.

Will post something about that sometimes in the near future, but it wasn't and isn't a #1 priority. For now assume that the convention and the tribunals that I've mentioned in my DM post are in the works.

Lanie would not simply let elections be done away with if the people wanted it. Neither would Tristana. Nor Dame Alice Dearing, from my understanding of the character.

Things were handwaved in the interest of dismantling, yes, a poor constitution, and they were done ni ways that are damaging to the lore of the server and the city. Everything you said in your post has not been done Ic at all, and people have, instead, just been completed ignored in IC factors until this post was made.

Frankly, Cordor should be a higher priority than a one off post dismissing everything that's happened to the City since the Arcanum Plot and radio silence since then. But I'm not entirely surprised, given I ran eelctions basically on my own, with help from Silke and Sammy, despite trying tog et help a great deal of times, and after I reminded the DMS that elections were coming up and this would be a great time to revitalize Cordor again, the response was to just... do nothing, say nothing, and eliminate all these plot threads and things going on, and then go completely silent and do absolutely nothing with it.

Cordor may have not had true democratic traditions in the past but they became wildly popular under the Commonwealth and the Republic for a number of reasons, and to do away with that by saying "Actually, they didn't like it" is completely disrespectful. Especially without large scale DM attention and DM posts saying such, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the matters of Cordor West and Central Cordor. As a DM, I freely admitted that the Cordor constitution was pretzel-twistingly stupid and hand-tying, but that doesn't mean you get to just ignore IC happenings to get rid of it.

I thought the pretzel-twistingly stupid and hand-tied Cordor constitution was done on purpose, so that the 'commoners' couldn't get one over on the nobles, and the rulers could pretty much do what they wanted. It was an entertaining read, to say the least. lol

Just said that the proposed institutions couldn't be more democratic....but whatever

Also...... democratic traditions during the Commonwealth? How? Maximillian and Cromwell never got elected. The provisional government remained in power until the end (2008-21014) with a Speaker who was practically a dictator. Two were two partial elections and the first one happened at the end of 2011 more than 2 years after the Minister in Question died in 2009? Another one was held later for only one position as well. There was no real democratic tradition to remember when it comes to the Commonwealth...let alone becoming popular?

At the end of Andrew's tenure citizens started a nostalgia movement and wished for the return of the Duke. In other parts of Cordor votes and sentiments were bought or forced....or blood and magic. If money, threats, magic stops flowing then sentiments change and they change fast.

PCs who had some degree of influence in Cordor abandoned their RP months or almost a year before I made my post last December. The PCs who suddenly wanted to do a campaign there had no prior history with the city at all that would give them a recognition that would be equal to a citizen's recognition. To earn that kind of influence would require months of persistent RP and not something out of the blue.

The IC post was meant to represent that life goes on there without PC involvement too..PCs after all are insignificant in numbers compared to the NPC population.

Well, I'm kind of new to the server, so I don't know all of Cordors histpry. But as I gathered it, there were like 3 or 4 different governments from the start of the server, some of which were not democratic at all. And hated, subsequently.
Also, as far as I've gathered, at least some of these governments were overturned by the population.
I might be wrong in one of these two steps. Nonetheless, if both of these are true, would the Cordor cititens really simply ignore the fact that elections passed without any mention? (at least not at the time, if you look at the dates)
Essentially, this is what 'Gideon Hannigan' tried to argue, at a persuasive level. And he was ignored. Hell, not even some form of guard response, for disturbing the peace, apparently.

So in general, what made me so satly was the whole radio silence. Nothing at the time when the elections were about to happen, and nothing after that one post. Nothing for a pretty long while.
Could, as a suggestion, the information perhaps be posted publically, instead of being PM'ed? I mean, if commie is allowed to know, why not everyone?

I (believe I) read somewhere that restrictions such as "preferred classes" had been removed. I'm asking because I suspect that a mulan(ese?) human character I made, which happens to lack the Cleric class, may be suffering from a cross-class penalty.

Just looking for clarification, thanks!

You don't get hurt by not taking cleric. You'd get hurt when you have too many classes. What classes are you taking?

Is there any way to test VFX's. As in, see what they do? All we have is the list in the requestables catalogue, and I was wondering if there is a way to see them in the toolset or something.

I am playing a human (mulan) druid monk.

The reason I wondered is because I believe that the xp comes in increments of 5 if you are alone. So when I am level 10 (druid 9, monk 1) and seeing scores on the Ske'kats like 36 xp, that indicates that I am receiving xp at an 80% rate (being 80% of 45).

The exp penalty should have been removed for all classes and all races. The problem is there's something not working right with some subraces and thus you can end up getting the exp penalty even though they tried to remove it for everyone.

The exp penalty is really annoying... and I wish they would just help people affected by it by giving some sort of one-time compensation <.<

Anyway, here's the relevant thread.

If you can find Sunjammers VFX Browser, that's what I use. It's a module where you can enter it and find VFX's either by keyword or going through all of the numbers. I can't find it online at the moment, only the NWN2 version. If you upload the HAKs to the module, you'll be able to scroll through our newer VFX's too.

Other than that, there's always the DebugMode menu. Go into any module(not online), hit "`", which will bring up a cursor in the upper left hand side of the screen. Type "DebugMode 1" and hit enter. Hit "`" again, and type "dm_visualeffect [# of the Effect] [How long to play the effect, if it can have a duration]". Enter and it will ask you to select a target, which can either be your own PC, or a placable, or an NPC, or the ground if its a VFX that can exist on its own. I.E, after you enter DebugMode 1, you could type in dm_visualeffect 147 30, and select your PC, and it will create the Elemental Shield VFX on your character for 30 seconds. Here is an incomplete list of visuals. VFX_fnf VFX_dur VFX_imp.

It's incomplete, because we have many VFX's we've added with the HAK. To see all of those, you'll either have to know what you want to show up already by its number, or find that VFX module and upload our HAKs which will let you scroll through all of them.

There are a lot of items that give arcanists level 9 spells, but none I know of for a cleric.

Is it possible to request cleric versions of wizard/sorc items, such as the 'staff of the master?' Or can some of these spell-slot items be given clerical/druidical parity via the djinn shop?

ok I rolled a 75 to hit him and missed.

apparently some enemies just arbitrarily have hugely inflated ac bonus's vs specific creature types.

please fix asap, this is dumb as hell.

edit; at least i got an ioun stone.

and it was literally the only ioun stone i can use

and now i swing at +60 8)

so thinking back there are several enemies Arnkat has a ton of trouble killing that don't really make a whole lot of sense as to why, because I can carve them up on 40ab ish str guys. So why is my 60 ab 60 str man struggling so damn hard?

im starting to wonder how many mobs just get a shitload of bonus AC specifically made to fuck over shifter characters.

can we get an audit? hell send me the monsters and I'll take a look myself. I really hope this isn't intentional.

stop asking to have things sent to you. you're not a dev. you don't get them.

some bosses have AC versus powerful summon races. specifically Dragon. yes. it's intentional. you don't "accidentally" add +15 AC vs dragons.

And even if they are devs they do not get just whatever they want to fiddle around with it/look at it, if it is not something that is not decided already that it needs changing or fixing.

No need to get so agitated. You folks do sound awfully angry at times.
