Hello to all. My name is Odjn666, and i was wondering where i could find all the mythals in the game. I only have seen four, i look at this site and find there are three more past it. I was wondering where i could find them. Im not even lv 30, yet. I am playing a char who is a blacksmith by trade, Leya is her name. Keep a eye out for her. Thanks

They are rare. You can find out how to get them in game. The latest are in DM events only.

That isn't a problem at all! RP starts at any level, and there's really no rush to get to 30. Very few people, if any, would look down on you for your character not being level 30, and those people who do, deserve to be shot anyway.

I'm almost 100% sure the Noob posts were just jokes, I'm sure they didn't mean to offend in any way.

Mythals drop when you are out and about, hunting monsters and such, they have a set drop rate, and the only way to collect them is to trade for them, or go out and find them yourself. They drop in every zone at a certain percentage rate, and scale up as the creatures get tougher.

As for the mythals, they drop randomly when you hunt, while the very best is only available via DM reward.

Tehe don't feel bad about the rarity, I hadn't found a single one on my kobold til i was level 12, I had to buy them from others or walk until then.

..after level 12 I found plenty, oddly.

I been playing for what seems like ages now (1.5 years or 1 year? Can't remember) and I've NEVER had a mythal greater than a Greater Mythal. Ever. So don't fret...

i laugh so loud at that,

but this thread brings up an issue for me, the lack of mythals for recharge is getting frustrating, i'm having trouble just finding minors and lessers for such a thing, with my lvl 20 and 21 characters, its just down right sad, i mean i'm just stuck in the shadow scape with one of them at peek hours cause i have no charges, and A server is full, unless there another planer rift i do not know about lol, but maybe increase the drop rate by 1% or point something if possible, or make an epic lvl store sell lessers for a riduculas amount, cause times i'm on, privite sellers are rare and far between, and even so they only have intermediates or higher which i couldn't get them to sell me because i was going to "waste it" lol.

buy some off others. Nearly all my PCs have tons of them for some weird reason..

Or do what I do, run places like Underriver, where you tend to pick up at least one per trip.

Since there's a new source of consumption, I think the drop rate could be increased by some amount.

Either that or let people mine for crystals so they can get home quicker. Hmm, now where have I heard that sort of story before?

I'm careful about when I use my portals and cling to the mythals I can get. Feels like most I've found just for recharging puprose is when I go hunt someplace lower [naturally, the respect on OOC to move out of the zone if levels better ranged for it are interested in hunting.] And I try for a spot a little less used, mhm...

All my PCs have tonnes .. I think the idea should be to use your portal wand less rather than for mythal drops to increase. Low-grade mythals are actually worth something now.

low grade mythals drop in lowbie areas. But epics don't often go hang out in lowbie areas. My PCs often travel on foot, hence why I have so many of these thingies. We don't need to increase the spawn rate of mythals, people just need to learn to walk around more...

That. Half an hour in a random <lvl 10 should net you between 10-40 charges for your wand in minor and lesser mythals.

Plus, for example, if you walk to Bendir from Cordor you pass through a whole bunch of spawns, giving you a decent chance to find the odd mythal.

But it really depends whether you care what type of mythal you use - I know a lot of Epics farm Spires for Greater Mythals, which they use on their rods.

I do agree that perhaps the regular mythal drops should be increased a slight bit if there is a new consumption method in place.

But, I also agree that if people actually RP'ed needing to get them, and then went looking for them, I think they could find them.

Portalling should be an exception not a rule, keep them scarce.

I don't see a need to up the drop rate. Start walking, slackers, or buy them off others. There's 64 other people around (and that's just 1 server), one of them has a mythal, I guarantee it.

Maybe have a shop where you can buy minor mythal's from for an expensive price.

Would be a good way to get rid of a little more of that adventurers gold

look I've been without for the last weekish, i play an average of 3 hours a day, and I've be killing anything that gets in my way, goblin kobolds, nimblers, spiders, lizardmen and much more. I've been searching for a certain location for like two weeks, which is why i ran out in the first place, now that I've found it today, the last 3 hours I've been killing hoping for a mythal drop, and nothing, its random, and I'm having bad luck, i hit up merchants all week and they have been out, again bad luck. and since begging and asking random people would be against my characters rp, I'm stuck. just would be nice if say the emporium of many things (or whatever its called) had a minor for sell for like 30k for people having bad weeks like me. heck maybe even set it to sell once per reset

I don't see anything wrong with the drop rate. I also like that the portal wands consume the mythals now, gives them more value. Most all my characters have an average of two bags filled with mythals and only one of them is max level. The exception being my new 8th level cha. whose a crafter. I've had dry spells where I hardly see one drop and on the flip side I've gotten a handfull in one run. I was just out in Brog last week and got 3 greater mythals in two spawns. Admittedly I try to only use my portal wand when necessary, prefering to walk, take carts, or use the boats. Some of the best rp I've had on this server has come from random encounters while walking. So hang in there, the numbers will turn around, it always has with me. I think increasing the rate and selling them in stores will result in an oversaturation.

I honestly don't get how people can ever run out. I mean, I don't intentionally save my port rod...I use it when I need to go somewhere far away, when there's no easy other route, liek a 1-trip cart to where I need to go.

I use my port rod a minimum of once per login, usually more. I have utterly crap luck with drops. And yet, I've never run out of charges, ever. All my pc's have at least 3+ mythals on them.

I think the difference may be that I also keep my pc's well stocked on things like heal kits, potions, etc, so you'll NEVER EVER see me porting out of a hunting area to restock, or get a raise scroll, or whatever.

I am definitely against raising the drop rates on mythals. Hell, I'd vote to lower it even more. A lot of my pc's have TOO MANY mythals on them (and I loathe selling them to stores, since they aren't worth anything, so I keep them until I use them).

So youy walk until you can get one. It happens.

Or you put up a poster in PC Notice: "Looking to buy Mythals."

I like walking better, heh. IT's really weird for me to meet 30's who don't know how to get aorund because they've literally done nothing but portal. It's like... whoa.

after none stop killing since my last post, including orcs lair, kobold lair, trogs lair, goblins and things in between, and various other things that i never wanted to fight again, the trolls lair finally gave one up. that sucked lol

Mythals are like relationships, when you're not looking for one, you get a dozen offers. When you are, you find none.

What happened to the TC? Was he scared away? That's gotta be some kinda record.

I see him log into the game plenty of times.

Anyway, I say leave drops at the current rate, and I say that as someone who's killed literally thousands of monsters recently to get *counts* 38 Mythals that I've put into my gearsets.

wow, since i last posted, it went away from what i said. thats good. Well, as the mythals, i have found many so far, and got some form other players. thanks for your help from the ones who were nice.

only lv 9 at the moment, and stop calling people noobs only noobs call people noobs its old.

I personally don't like how rare they are now. Then again I really have no room to talk seeing that in the past when they weren't so rare I mythaled all sorts of goodies.

Do I use the Portal Wand? Rarely. I like mythals not for the rod charging but for crafting. Now that they are so rare I can't craft nearly as much as I would like. If fact they are so rare & coveted now that my merchant toon prefers mythals as payment over gold. And I'm not talking about crappy Lessers or Minors. I'm talking about Intermediates, Greaters & beyond.

They aren't rare. The drop rate hasn't been fiddled since a month after the MCS was invented. You're experiencing bad luck.

Yup, because I'm still sighing every time I find a mythal and using them to refill three or four charges on my wand.
