Are there any gods on Amia that would allow a paladin to take Shadowdancer levels? I was guessing Sune, but I might be wrong. |

There aren't any rules anywhere against making a shadowdancer paladin. It would be unusual certainly, but there's no prohibition against it in D&D or NWN or Amia. |

"The paladin/SD?" Is that supposed to be something infamous? I've never seen that combination on Amia. XD |

Paladin code bans using subterfuge as far as I know. Stealth and sneak attacks are sinful. |

Uhhh what? The Paladin's Code I would hazard, FROWNS on Subterfuge but if it's the only means to succeed so long as no other major facet of the Paladin's code isn't broken, it's all fine and dandy. Point of fact: Nope, The Code as used on Amia , doesn't. |

XD There used to be a horrid mage-killing build with Paladin / SD prior to the 1.69 changes. Thankfully though, the nerf of Holy Sword no longer makes it quite as overpowered. |

More like Arvoreen, actually. |

As long as the Code allows sorc/pally (which is even worse than druid/shifter/monk IMHO), I see no reason why it should disallow any other class combo. |

Goobers. You really think there's a mucky freakbuild I've not already checked for lore-friendliness? Like Mago said, 1.69 pulled its claws bigstyle, but the gnomish sneakly god, Baravar Cloakshadow, has a Paladin order which actively requires its followers to lie about being a member, set traps and be Stealthy For Jesus. Pally/SD is a green light if you don't mind those stupid forearms. |

Sorry for the doublepost, and possibly my last god-related question. On surface drow. Can they start on the surface, if so, how? And~ what gods would be acceptable for a drow cleric on the surface? |

I see nothing wrong with Paladin / SD to be honest. And surface drow can start on the surface, just choose your starting place when you go through the mirror. |

I'm not sure, there may only be the Underport bind unless you're good, though. |

LG NG CG LN and TN start at the Eilistraeen shrine, if I'm not mistaken. They have a choice to spawn in Underport, but otherwise they start there. I could be wrong, though. Surface drow typically worship Eilistraee, though some surface drow are still evil. |

You can be a drow paladin if you want. There's more than one. |

yes there is, but I myself wince everytime I see a drow pally. there are good drow clerics, say of eilistraee, out there. Or I can mention you about making a normal surface elf, ie moon, sun, wood, or wild, a cleric of the elven pantheon. |

No way. I doubt any of the elven pantheon would take a drow, even if they've completely forsaken their ways. Eilistraee would definitely take one. I've got to admit that my knowledge on surface gods is pretty limited, but I'm sure that there are some out there that would give a good-hearted drow some lovin'. |

It's somewhat complicated, so I'm not totally sure on this, and it might really come down to DM descretion on player opinion entirely, but Eilistraee is actually a listed ally of the Seldarine, and she chose her banishment voluntarly to be a becon of hope for non evil Drow. Now, I'm unsure exactly of the Seldarine's rules, but I stand to reason they'd allow a truly faithful Drow follower, seeing as the are open allies with Eilistraee. I could be wrong, though. There could easily be a specific "No Drow period, sorry, event he good ones" clause. |

Rethinking it, again, as I tend to do. Are there male clerics of Eilistraee, at all? Or Selune, for that matter? (Pretty sure it's a no, but I'm just checking) |

Selune, yes, Eilistraee, no. |

Male clerics of Eilistraee are slowly becoming more common, but they're still few and far between, and rather secretive about it. They've spent time as female upon initiation, and many priestesses still do not quite accept the idea. So yeah, a male cleric of Eilistraee is not the best of ideas. |

Stealth doesn't seem unfitting of paladins at all, to me. Backstabbing does, though. There's nothing unlawful or evil about setting up ambushes in the wild or following an enemy out of sight. Attacking a clueless enemy from behind is rather unchivalric for sure, but I'd not put it past all paladins to first announce their presence, challenge the enemy, and then use HiPS in a situation where both combatants understand that the duel is for real and it's time to fight to the best of your abilities. Otherwise, you might as well say feinting in swordplay, strategic movement of troops on the battlefield or cutting down an orc on a chaotic battlefield before issuing a formal challenge are all things paladins shouldn't do. Which I believe is rather silly. |
