Umm.. linen, imported silk, wool? Depending on the social status just how well made textile was used for the clothing. Cotton came in a bit later, and hemp apparently wasn't used for clothing.

Fabric can be woven from almost any hair, so I'd guess stuff like horse hair was also used for some garments.

I got a book for you to read (I planned to read this myself, since it seemed rather interesting!)

Oddly enough, I read something in passing the other day that claimed silk was an excellent armour for desert warfare. Something about the flowing robes being able to deflect blows in the same way that a bullet can't go through free-hanging silk. I strongly doubt that silk would be useful against a direct blow, however...

Linen, cloth, wool, silk, if you're nobility you can export practically anything {so long as you have the money}.

Mulhorand, don't know, but I'm going to wager that wool is the cheap material {as it always is, if it's locally produced, that's what the peasants have}.

Saracen warriors mostly used clubs. Yes, yes they did. After clubs, spears most common. Swords, and especially scimitar, are ONLY for the rich. Saracen/Islamic society was very very poor until after the crusaders came through and they were, for want of a better word, 'embarrassed' into change after the crusader kingdoms were more productive than they were. As for shields, didn't happen much, but when they did, same as Europe. Wood, and sometimes with leather on the rim for longevity. Rhinocerous hide is one type of leather they used.
Bows are also about as common as spears, though quite possibly not so much as clubs {this is the argument put forward by Richard Elgood who is the BEST I've ever seen on the matter as he's one of the few who has actually read and translated Islamic military texts}.

Are you after Horus-Re from the D&D game or reality?

D&D Horus is mostly concerned with kingship. Just and moral rulership and opposing the agents of Set.
That's really about it, he's not much of a common person's god except to pray that the king/pharaoh abides by Horus's code.

Quote:
Goodness, honour, and order are the natural state, and that which leads to evil, treachery, and chaos is by rights unnatural and the enemy.

Lead Mulhorand by example, and let your deeds speak your intentions.

Goodness and harmony come from living within ma'at rather than fighting it. Laws exist to bring prosperity to those under them.

The Pharaoh and the church of Horus-Re rule with Horus-Re's guidance and set laws and guidelines for honourable action within Mulhorand's tradition.

Make no hasty changes or decisions, as their consequences are always suspect and may undermine the steadfast rule of eternity.

Protect the weak and avenge all wrongs.

Smite traitors with righteous vengeance.

This is wrong, the Mongols did use layered silk for armour however under leather - if an arrow pierces the leather, it does not the silk, allowing the wound to be remarkably clean and the arrow to be removed easily with less risk

555444333 is correct. Silk is good for having clean wounds as it splits easly and threads don't catch onto the arrow that's piercing through your midsection. As opposed to wool where you get bits of it caught in you and spreading infection.
Silk is not an adequate individual armour {Unless you use a hell of a lot of layers, glue it, and a hell of a lot more layers, but by that point, leather is immensely cheaper and better and though I haven't compared the prices considering how much silk is in their I'd almost be willing to wager that mail armour would be cheaper, and mail armour is better, though maybe not quite so fashionable}.[/code]
