1. How is one supposed to treat the portaling system in Amia? Even in a high-magic world, it seems kind of unrealistic that any Joe or Jill with a single PC class level would have a wand that allows them to traverse great distances in an instant. Maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way, but how is this supposed to be RP'd?

2. A similar question, this one regarding respawning and going back to where you died. If one does this, do they disappear and reappear, suddenly fine--or is it revealed that they were really just knocked unconscious after all, and just 'woke up'?

3. What's the consensus on using skill/ability checks for PC-to-PC interactions on Amia? I typically don't bother with them--I'm of the opinion that if you need dice to really get into your character, you're probably doing something wrong. But I'd like to know for sure before I end up stepping on anybody's toes...

4. Is it safe to assume that, magic aside, physics in Amia work generally the same as physics in RL?

Thanks for the help! :-)

1: the portal wands are 100% IC and there is game lore to explain why the wands are as universally available among the adventuring populace as they are. I suggest checking with Mystra's Tower.

2: Respawning... depend son the situation, but the act of respawn itself, as in, magically teleporting back to the Temple of Waukeen, isn't IC. Most people play it as being knocked unconcious and rescued by another group of wanderers, or simply being beat so bad you're forced to retreat.

3: Player o player deicision and consent.

4: Yes, I don't see why not.
