Does the scribe use planks to make paper or wood?
I don't want to end up with a useless job...

Scribe can only make paper from Papyrus (which in turn is grown by a Market Gardener). Otherwise, you need miller, tanner or one of the other sorts of jobs that can make empty pages. Mind that you then need to get the logs or hide from a lumberjack or trapper, etc...or barrelstalks from a mushroom grower, etc...there's numerous ways of making empty pages, but the scribe only makes them one way, from Papyrus and he/she gets those in turn, off a market gardener.

Yup, as posted, scribe uses papyrus.

The other nifty trick to scribe, however, is that you can customize item name and descriptions of -job- items. [Anything in Orange].
