Yea. Well, as the topic says, I've got a question regarding the chest of wakeen. How does it work? What is it? ...Why does it dissapear sometimes? |

Does it still exist? That's like a... relic from the primeval times! It splits the loot equally among all party members, giving everybody an equal amount of gold. |

Though is a quick way to sell if you don't want to run over to the merchant building and not have the 5000 sell price cap the NPC in the temple gives you. Just make sure you're not in a party less you want to share |

Thing is ...when you speak to the little servant outside, she ...sort of Removes the chest, and it's not usable untill next reset. Why does she do that?! |

Originally it nuked and respawned the item so you'd get it if it was glitching and sharing unfairly. However disco obviously didn't put respawn on the item |

Spiderbags, bags of holding, bags bags bags. Then you'll only have to sell loot every once in a while. |

I like the chest to some degree. It's an interesting diversion if you want an even split without switching to a calculator. Just dump your loot in, close it and the worth of the items is instantly divvy'd up among party members. I'm not sure what the sell rate is, though. Didn't it used to be one of those statues of the guy with the flaming head and hands? Or am I thinking of something else? |

Relic of Arelith's days. The sell profit is terrible which is why no one sues it and everyone ABCs. No worries about your "Master Looter" running off on you. It used to be "Rauth", in the Temple of Torm, a man who was a con artist and a gambler, and punished by Tyr and Torm to evenly divide and spread wealth equally for all eternity. |

But i dont get it. Its there, The Script exists, and i would honestly want another way to share the loot rather than spamming A B G T X X A B G T X X Nonstop in the bloody partychatt. So for the sake of better RP, and less PartyChattSpam Maybe the chest could be 'fixed' and 'used' again. |

or a special widget that will when used you can create a flow chart of whos loot next. Example: Person A uses it on A then uses it on person B. Loot drops battle message person A loot drop battle message person B ect.... |

So don't spam it and learn to alphabetize mentally? Seems silly to make a complicated scripting solution when the answer is "don't type in party". |

Okay- You take a 'need over greed' principle. ICly, a person can ask: "Hey, a longsword! Any of you guys want this? If not, we can just hawk it off on Hil'rash" or whatever. Thirty-seven pieces of unclaimed gear later, you go to the merchant. Add up the gold earned by selling them, using the handy-dandy Windows calculator, and divide it by the number of people in your party. Dole out GP accordingly, rounding when necessary. Nonexistant problem. Simple solution. |

Master looting saves time, aggrovation and hastle. Trouble is that most people dont trust other people with their money. IC'ly thats fine, but when it spills over to OOC, then it can get unpleasant for all concerned. My preferance is always Masterloot, but if someone in the party does not like it then we go ABC. Seems easiest way these days. |

Waukeen is much more about Epic coinage, than Epic cleavage. Nothing says "I'm the Queen" like your head on a million dollar gold coin. Waukeen is about hard work for what you got man. Its not about being idle! |

The ABC system isn't really fair. It's a fact that the beginning of the Alphabet gets more loot in the long run. It would be nice if every loot that drops is scripted so it calls out who gets it, as long as the script starts from a random letter in the alpahbet and goes from there. The 'it's fine as it is now' argument doesn't hold up. It probably isn't a priority, so the 'not a priority' argument can be used instead. If it's not a priority, then there is no point in letting this thread continue. |

As long as loot is actually obtained, it's impossible, under the ABC system, for someone whose name is further down in the alphabet than another's to get more loot than their early-lettered party-members. However, this shouldn't be a huge problem, as those in the beginning of the alphabet only have the chance to get one more piece of loot than those closer to the end, as long as the system is being adhered to. I prefer need or greed, or PWNdBAD, or really anything that can be RP'd. The ABC system seems rather... tacky. |

I usually do need before greed, and then everything else gets sold and divided by the person with highest appraise. |

| Post subject: | Re: Waukeen's Chest |
How people handle their loot is their own way and has no real rhyme or reason on a "server rules" level. I'm not even sure why the chest was put in to begin with, there's no IC reason for it working the way it would and two, no one uses it because it gives base value, not appriase and merchant modified value, so you make a pittance from it. ... and if people are ABC looting right, everyone gets the same loot. |

Wolfking6116 wrote: What is this Pwndbad system? I wish to know of it. Pick What's Needed Don't Be A Douche or a few other subtle variations along that theme, which works great at higher levels, but can be a bit confusing at the lower levels where just about everyone is desperate for some coinage to get even the most basic of gear. Master looting is a great system, too. If everybody in the party knows each other and can trust that the master looter isn't gonna go douche on people and bounce out. I'm a big fan of ABC's and have been known to spam the party chat with the first letters of people's character's names. However, I prefer to stop take a break and have my character say something about how the loot will be distributed. Doesn't break immersion and gives a good chance to RP a touch between spawns. I'd say get rid of the chest or if it's kept do so for sentimentality's sake. |
