Hi! I'm new to Amia! I am having a bit of trouble starting NWN... Yes.. I own *dramatic music* WINDOWS VISTA!
It seems when I try to skip the intro movies, it crashes on me.. I am aware of how to fix this. It runs smoothly when I just sit through the intro, though...
But here's my problem.
I have searched all over my computer.. but I cannot find my NWN.INI file... It is nowhere to be found! How do I remedy this?

Look for your main neverwinter nights directory. NWN ikes to install itself by default outside the program files folder so look in your main C drive area. Inside you should see a bunch of text folders, you're looknig for the one just called "nwn". For future reference there's also further tweaks that can be done in "nwnplayer".

I found those files you mentioned.. But I have found nothing that'll let me skip the intro movies. Is there something I'm missing?

Under [Display Options], add Disable Intro Movies=1.
It should work, but I never tried it myself.

The capital letters are important, but make sure you don't add that full stop at the end.

And if that still seems confusing:

I had this same problem until I found the solution. The trick is to run nwn as the administrator. As for the .ini file, I right click on the nwn icon and click "open file location". There should be a way run a search in the top right of that window. Just type in "nwnplayer.ini" and it will take you to it.

Same. I right click the icon and "Run as administrator" all the time

dxwebsetup.exe
Direct-X Web Setup executable.
It is a web-based application which will compare your current direct-x installs and update all SDKs/updates for windows automatically.
Vista doesn't ship with full pre-directx 9.0c support.
Its a direct download from microsoft.
You can download it from www.microsoft.com/directx after several clicks.
