Hello there, I've encountered something strange that I just cannot figure out. Here's the problem I play on Amia normally as I always do, go out fighting and stuff but suddenly there is lag for me and for me alone. My character freezes, I can't move, view inventory or other players bio, can't write or anything but at the same time I can see everything else surrounding me happening in real time. I see people writing stuff, moving around, fighting and I can even see when some monster is beating me slowly to death. This lasts for about 1 to 3 minutes at a time every now and then and it only happens in Amia. Also in the Gamyspy lobby it shows that the ping on Amia is -1 both on A and B servers. Everything else works just fine and I can't find any troyans or alike that might be causing this. Is Disco doing something in his basement or what?

Whatever goes on in Disco's bicycle cellar probably doesn't affect Amia, given Amia's located 50 kilometres away at a server farm.

Mm... I was more then curious of this though. During the long time I've played this game I've seen nwn do some pretty freaky stuff without any explanations whatsoever. And never have I encountered this kind of thing. Atleast it seems to have eased up a little. Was just curious if someone might have known something...

Well, someone's been flooding our FTP server with connection attempts, which can cause some lag. I'll have a look if this happened recently.

At least the certain individual residing in Belgium, yes. A couple of other IPs, as well, but they could be proxies.

When are you going to give out his IP to us? I could be on a plane flying to belgium in less than a week.

Not giving them out in public at this point.
Anyway, did this happen around 12:40-12:50 GMT? I see a lot of refused connection attempts with silly usernames like "newuser", "anyone", and the normal "root" and "admin", of course.
Oh, and the best (from yesterday's log):
(000022) 3/18/2011 18:00:59 PM - (not logged in) (Dutch proxy IP)> 421 Temporarily banned for too many failed login attempts
Today's ban came from a German IP, it seems.

Yeah around that time... although I'd say it would have been during 11:30 to 14:00 or something like that. But anyhow... it seems to have stopped

Recently I have had strange things happen this way as well. I suddenly can't attack monsters, but my summon is fighting and everything seems to work but my character.
What sucks is that I paid good money for those summon scrolls and this always happened after I just used them and buffed up.

the only persistant bug I get is that people seam to be standing still when they are invis and on my party, infact they have moved, and usually I have to follow their summons or the map to keep up.
this however doesn't happen when you use see invis.
I have also witnessed the 'wtf where are the monsters' one but relogging or changing rooms usually fixes that. however changing rooms also can cause lagcrash, and has happened to me several times.
thankfully I now have a net speed twice as fast as before cause sky got fed up of my moaning about how bugged they connection is xD

Unfortunately none of those has anything to do with the problem I had... And I do not think that the shapes of the invisible characters stay where they are if you do not have see invisible is a bug. It has always been like that. And when one monster happens to miss it's appearance, it also has been as long as I can remember in nwn. But as my slight problem seems that have stopped, this is getting off-topic.

Massive lag 'Right now'. Care to check if it's the same source?
Time 14.18-14.19, GMT+1

Same here. Gonna restart the server and install a service pack while I am at it. No clue what the issue is.
