What does an attack bonus do? I bought a masterwork light flail that says +1 attack bonus, but it does not raise my AB at all which is what I would have expected since its an "attack bonus" To make sure there was no mistake, as in not displaying but is really there, I walked over and wacked a goblin, because we all like wacking goblins, and sure enough my +1 attack bonus did NOT show up. So what does it do? Thanks! |

Exactly what it says it does. A +1 AB masterwork weapon adds +1 too your attack bonus, but not damage like Enhancment. Furthermore, they do not stack. Enh bonus is almost always better unless you have a pocket mage/cleric for GMW, in which case you want neither. |

Yeppers, unequip your light flail and see if your AB doesn't drop by 1 (or more if you have certain feats, such as Weapon Focus or such). |

I appologize for not being clear. My Ab is 24 I equip the flail and my AB is 24 I go and fight something with the flail and in reading the logs my AB is 24 So I conclude that the master work flail with the plus 1 attack bonus does not add to my attack. |

Shade of Blue wrote: The character sheet lies. This is true: it does occasionally bug up and not display things correctly. Try asking a DM who's on the client to take a look at your character sheet and see if what they see differs with what you do. |

I am working on screen shots but again I appologize for not being clear. The combat logs tell me that my AB is not improved. |

Two possible reasons: 1) You have the Weapon Finesse feat and your DEX modifier is one higher than your STR. Unarmed attacks are counted as Finesse weapons and use DEXmod, but the flail isn't a light weapon for any race, so it'll use STRmod. 2) Your gloves also have +1AB on them. This won't stack, so swapping to a flail keeps you at +1. |

Uberuce thank you! I completely forgot that I have weapon foces unarmed. Grr ok sorry for this post. Edit: and now I know the answer to my question which was: Does AB bonus merge when shifted. I was hoping it did even though enchantment bonus didnt.  Thanks again |

The character sheet never shows damage or AB/enhancement bonii on claw weapons unless its other damage like what is found via the Branch of Giving. Always check the combat log. |
