I iz taking them.
PM me if there are certain things in particular you'd like to see, or think would be a fun game/event to have there. Trying to make this an all-day event, so the more ideas and games we can chock into it, the better. To give you a preview of what we already have in mind:
Mage Duels- Of course, was there any doubt?
Magic Shoppes/Trading- Hopefully both PC and NPC
Fireball-Throwing Contest- A time-held classic in at any Wizard's Fair
Magic Missile Golf- Who can destroy the object in the fewest number of Magic missiles?
Cibulum(Mage-ball)- Mages hit a "ball" of magically shifting energy back and forth using their knowledge of counterspelling(spellcraft) until one fails and gets hit by the ball.(Is beaten by a certain range, or fails to meet the steadily increasing DC).
Arcana Trivia- Name the spell based off of the riddle or metaphor given!
Planar Pageant- Let's see who can (temporarily)invite the most visually stunning creature to join us at the Fair!
Live-scale Wah-Ree- Something akin to a live-scale chess match, though piece may be able to use certain magics, depending on what "piece" they are playing.
Magic Lectures- There will be podiums(hopefully Job System ones). Come out and tell us what you know.
The Magus Judicium- *maniacal laughter*. Enter at your own risk. Pain is but temporary, but glory is forever. You will meet your fears, your sorrows and your weaknesses. What the Serpent wants to know is "How will you greet them?". Your answer may land you among us
That's just a preview, more things in the works. Send PM me ideas, and hope to see you there.

There was an ooolder thread here that had plenty of ideas for a mage-fair. However, reading over your list here, I think you've taken everything from that one.

However! Nice list, so far.
Yep, I've already read over that thread, but didn't feel like getting bitched at for necroposting.
Construct show. (Like dog show! Who has the shiniest?) Familiar Contest (Who has the smartest one!) Wizard level Trivia match (Lore check. More than likely require DM present!) Of course, fashion show. Best Dressed Male and Female 1st - 3rd place for each.

Too "fun". A magician's convocation should be the kind of thing you go to not because you want to have fun, but because if you don't go, you aren't worth the nomenclature.

live scale chess sounds fun but you'd need...*does math* 32 people to all participate and not crash for the session...
I hate to referance other games in stuff like this but...chrono trigger >_> races, guessing games, riddles, dancing, shops, and of course the random chance of...something occuring. (not the opening of time based dimensional rifts in this case...but stuff occurs =D)
actually referancing within amia for once, remember kohl? if this is a magic festival needs more firepower =D I still don't know how those fireworks worked though I swear that was flukey both times...=O got it, the return of the stage mages and the clowns that can't play very well =O
just bouncing idea's, feel free to ignore this post entirely or pick and choose as you see fit =) I think fortune tellers (diviners) are a given for a magic festival, though I am unsure where all the PC ones went =(

Book announcements on the latest tomes of magic Magical reagent supplies Lectures (as suggested by the OP) Debates
I can't imagine so much competition myself ... I'd imagine it more to be a conference of scholars. Basically, you go because if you don't you're a nobody, left behind in the fields of magical research.

I keep hoping for less games and more true Mage-ish stuff.
You mean like a tech fair?

Well, more like Yossarin and Yuurell's posts. dissertations on magic. Gathrings of the best mages from each school. Maybe one or two freindly competitions, but a wizard's gathering should be arcane and "Scientific", and less fun and games.

I'm not up to speed on all the lore but an even like this would appear to be a great 'peer review' oppertunity. That is to say that mages attempting to create new spells or significantly change existing ones could have their work tested by others skilled in the arcane arts without blowing the top off their proverbial tower.
Could also be a chance for a great summoning or scrying/divining attempt. Perhaps a chance to open a stable celestial Gate. Invite a few planular creatures to offer advice and instruction? Surely there are ascended folks that everyone would like to catch up with?
I'm not up on all the tricky bits of lore but this type of thing feels more wizardy then "Oh, nice work Wincerind, two under par".

BOOTH GIRLS! Magical displays of the latest in cutting edge magic Including: a 2 hour demonstration on measuring the rotation of the speed of the earth with a piece of enchanted string with BOOTH GIRLS a 20 minute seminar on the new Isaacs 'OH GOD WHAT NOW!' Missile Storm *still experimental, may explode user* and so on..
on and did I mention BOOTH GIRLS?
Think E3 before it got boring

You, Yurell and Yoss will notice that it has been referred to a "Mage Fair" and not a "Wizard's Fair" throughout, both IC and OoC. There will be copious amounts of both business and play. In this one at least. You need only look at the person in charge of throwing it to have your reasoning.

Wizards counter-casting competition.
Basically two wizards square off, they take turns to cast spells. The one wizard is in counter casting mode, the other is the offensive caster. As wizards can have rediculous varities of spells this allows one to test ones spellbook out, and see how many spell they have aquired or developed. The winner of the duel is whoever gets a spell through first. It also showcases any custom spells which may or may not linger in the module.
Could be done in a tournament fashion, but that may cause issues, what with people watching the duels and finding the weakness immediatly.

somewhere along these lines...I suggest ninth circle safety lectures, sourcing in game books components etc, as but one example idea. this might be cause we've been listening to someone talk about health and safety for three hours but it could work.
and obviously, different lectures of much more interesting concepts, if everyone is drunk you fail =O I am muchly looking forward to this though, i'll let you guys know if anything real interesting passes my grey matter in relation to this.
