Hi there, ive been looking all over on forums and ingame about wheather or not you can actually create the "Alienist Robe" as a Tailor or as some other Job profession Now...if anyone has an answer on this id be very thankful...and BTW the Robe looks like a fairly typical one with the exception it has two Really big spikes come from behind the neck and curve upwards to within a few inches of the head..aswell as a few large spikes going accross eash shoulder. Note: I already heard this was at one point a DC only thing but i was told that someone thinks the Tailor job can make it now, if so id like to know how.
Regards Nid.

I'll save you a bit of time by saying that robe is definitely in the HAK. Wondering about if it is readily available through any source, job system or otherwise, myself.

Just for reference, in the toolset under "appearance" for armour it should be "robe" model 18.

I didn't add it to the player options. You may guess the reason.

I think there's more to it than simply 'being tacky,' which, yes, it totally is.

Because the servers i've seen that on, it was overused to hell, and it made no sense. It looks more like a Drow Wizard or Cleric robe in my opinion. But other servers i have seen pretty much anyone who knew how to cast Light use that thing.

which one o' y'all has been reading my mind >_>
on a more relevent english note, would not be the first thing on my DC list for an alienist character, or considering the lore a partial alienist character...unless theres a generic way to make summons look psuedonatural...=D
so thats a robe part, I figured it looked like the spikey things in the neck section, but it is kinda different.

It's not really a positive when you take out perfectly good clothing based on personal fashion taste.
Let's be real if that robe did exist not everyone would even use it...cause different people have different tastes....but meh...I personally wouldn't use that robe anyways...but that doesn't mean I wouldn't allow others to.

Definitely there; when I made the new clothes for Arwen's (oh, February/Marchish?) I made one, but the chicken told me it was going to be job system only. I don't think it's in the job system though either now since I have a tailor and haven't found it there. I'm guessing either intentional since it's really wicked looking (as in... overly dramatic for everyday wear) or hasn't been gotten around to yet.

Bad fashion never stopped items from being added before. Everyone uses the 1.69 armors and one of about 3 helm designs.

I was quite happy to spot the custom weapons in the job system, and i've heard some of the armour related ones like tailor are also pretty good. sledgehammer for the win muchly. wish it wasn't a large spec weapon =(

BUt if its going to remain a DC only option thats fine i just wanted to know if it was craftable in some way first. Thanks for all the feedback people.

Seem's like a perfect item for the DC request bin. Particularly for a Lolthite priestess who wants to seem more important then the other priestesses.
It's also very skewered towards one particular type of character, a Lolthite. Elves running around in that thing would make no sense.

A yath in the underdark wears it. I think it looks funny even on her... I don't really see it fitting in with much anything. But maybe I'm just lacking imagination. It reminds me a little of Kerigan or whatever that chit's name is from starcraft.

I added it because it may have its niche uses. Not everything is added to sate the demands of players. I did add a few items that will only be used to make monster npc's for example. jimbono1 wrote: Because the servers i've seen that on, it was overused to hell, and it made no sense. That's indeed the most current reason why I didn't add it yet.

On that logic we should remove longswords, longbows, scimitars and rapiers, though?

I would think that Longswords and Longbows are alot easier to come by than a Robe with random Spider-like Spikes coming out of its back. I think the Idea Disco is trying to get is that the Robe should most likely be used for special cases, for example, a High Priestess of Lloth.

Then why add something that's only going to be used by one or two people?

So you would rather everyone look the same and the server lack unique people and clothing? This is what you want then?

That happens every time a new robe comes out. I see the same robe now on just about everyone, because it's new. But it doesn't harm anything and it certainly doesn't break my immersion.
