Mammals are easy to sex, that is, you can see their mammary gland or male danglies and tell right away what sex they are, that is, if you had any sort of education.

My question is: Are reptilians in the game, such as kobolds, so easy to sex? Now, I am no professional herpetologist, but I have experience with repitiles, and usually, the only way you can tell their sex is to examine their cloaca. If the reptile is a male you will see their penis. If not, no penis.

A delightful person, told me that their kobold's sex was in their description, but, I didn't see anything that would render a non-herpetologist any judgement on the sex. My character has no expertise in kobold anatomy, and has no idea whatsoever if the kobold she was speaking to is a male or female. All of the kobolds she has spoken to have been male, up to this point, and that has been gathered by the pronouns used by others to describe said kobolds.

Look, I read descriptions, usually. Usually I can tell by the toon whether the person I am speaking to is male or female. However, when the toon is sexually ambiguous, i must assume sexual ambiguity.

I'd like to say that people need a little patience. If you aren't in an area for that long, don't expect someone to get around to reading your character description right that instant.

This should have been PM'd to a DM. No specifics on the public forums.

Well, the rant was actually a question, and an angry plea for non-douchebaggery.

Question: Are male and female Kobolds so sexually distinct that a human who has passing associations with kobolds can tell?

As far as I know... No. And anyone chewing anyone out for an IC statement needs to rethink what they're doing. That said, you could've asked your question without bringing that up.

Edit: To clarify, I think the only way to tell physically is there is a slight height/weight difference, but no one is going to be able to pick that out, especially if they're solitary. And I can't imagine everyone in the world knows to look for a kobold that's three inches shorter or ten pounds lighter than the usual male kobold.

Well I haven't named names and I wanted to ask the question and vent at the same time. I'll edit the more caustic points..

If you want a topic asking the difference between the genders of kobolds, then please edit your original post asking such.

As it is, there's really no reason for me not to lock it, as it's clearly referencing something you should have PM'd a DM.

You could have hashed this out in game. Topic locked. Talk with the player in question amicably and reasonably.
