Reposting this here in case some missed some of the other posts. Also note the changed dc rebuild costs. Due to the time absorbent nature of Free Rebuilds, it has become the DM team's position that they shall be discontinued to free up time for more important NPC interactions, plots, giving of DC's and such. Self-rebuilds and DC rebuilds shall continue to be unlimited upon proper request and DM approval. In addition to this we are also introducing a price change for the DC rebuild so they simply cost 0.5 dcs per level, both DC and self rebuilds still require roleplay backing. A few extra notes: - Free rebuilds already requested as of the time of this post will be the last set of them - After the hak update, Purple Dragon Knights/Harper Scouts will still be required to rebuild, too, and it is done so without cost. |

good that means more self-rebuilds so they will have a reason to go to low level zones like Caraigh on Boss-mia. |

Haha, Maias. You're so funny. It isn't even April. (This is what I get for taking the time to make sure my rebuild is actually what I want and what makes sense. :< I SEE HOW IT IS. ) |

Well it does say "General Discussion" so... Would there be any consideration among the Staff to allow those of us who still have a Free Rebuild "in the bank" so-to-speak, to use it up before this new rule takes effect? I really like the idea of no more free rebuilds, but I've also personally been "saving" mine since I started here, until I really needed it. But I could still definitely make good use of it now, if I'm going to lose it anyway (if that makes sense). Thoughts from the staff? |

Figuring out who does and doesn't and doing them all. Way too much work. So much easier to just say no. Like we should have before ever offering them in the first place. |

Ah, fair enough. I had just assumed you kept a list somewhere updated with who had already used theirs and at what point in the year. If that's not the case, then I can definitely see how that would be a giant pain in the arse. Thanks for explaining. |

Drat. My recent DC rebuild cost three more than it would have if I'd waited a couple weeks! I can't say I can blame anyone for this decision. There were a -ton- of rebuild requests, and I'm sure the DMs would love the break (and by the same token so would players since it means more time with DMs doing other things!). |

I'm glad the DM team dropped the Free Rebuilds. I never understood how you guys could handle them, so many as they were, and still manage to do other things. |

I admit the Free Rebuilds were nice, but there was so many requests... I guess the Tylenol in the DMoffice is lacking. |

Not to mention much of the hassle I've seen with some of the requested ones >_< Oh yeah, and I definitely like this, Would have been nice to knock out another freebie first, but it's not a big deal. The only possible changes in any of my characters would require a selfer anyways XD |

Damn, never had a free rebuild.... ohwell, backs up my point of rping with new characters EDIT:- Am I correct in assuming folks that want the monkey grip widget will need to self rebuild? If so this is better anyway. Will reflect training with the new weapon better |
|
| Author: | Selvec Darkon [ Tue, Sep 20 2011, 23:22 PM ] |
| Post subject: | Re: Discontinuing Free Rebuilds |
No. Folks that want Monkey-Grip will not need a self-rebuild. If they are using a large weapon, which they should if they want Monkey-Grip, then they will not need a self-rebuild. You only get monkey grip if you are using a large 2 handed weapon. Its simply that people used to double up the MG request with a Free-Rebuild request. Which were being declined over the last 3 months anyway. |

Pretty disappointing. Every time I've tried to organize a rebuild for my character, I've been told by a DM that they are too busy. Now I see I have missed my chance entirely. Like many folks I was waiting for when I really needed it. |

If you already made a request for it, it'll still be considered valid. If you didn't, then it doesn't matter whether or not the DM was busy, they couldn't have done it if you hadn't made a request yet. |

Not for nothing, King The Great Chicken Will Destroy You!, but some rebuilds -are- RP. Sometimes people do change. Saying that's impossible is just as bad, imo. |

Agreed. Not for nothing it's suggested taking the Myers-Briggs test about every five years. The events of life can indeed drastically change a person in just so short a time. As a side note I'm currently INTJ whereas I use to be INFJ when I last tested six and a half years ago |
