So, I was expecting a long lonesome walk before getting to know various starter areas in the module. I was kinda hoping to find some RP and maybe that way explore more of this world. A the very moment I began roleplaying my new character "Sivri" someone responded, helped her with a nice amount of gold, and a few healing kits, and showed her the way to Cordor. Later, just after I logged in, someone invited me to join their orc hunt. And I thought it would be nice to gain some xp after all. So I went, and experienced some nice RP while gaining xp on the way.

What I did not expect, actually happened - and made me happy. I suddenly had a newfound desire to play this game - And thank you for that to the players involved.

Now I just wish a DM had seen the RP and rewarded us. maybe that'll come later.

Uhm...I was given 1000 gold. Not very much, but enough to use the expensive travel system a few times. I don't think I quite follow you...?

I presume he was checking to make sure it was a legal amount (see: rules on twinking/muling). Fairly sure that amount is fine though so don't worry.

Uhm, those rules - as far as I can read - speaks about wether or not you deserve gifts. I'm not really sure how to be sure if I deserved that amount.

It's essentially just something to prevent people from giving exorbitant amounts of gold/items to lower level people. Like, if you were given 100k that'd be unreasonable lol

I'm fairly certain 50k would be so, too. Heck, to me 10k sounds like a lot for a brand new char XD

Such small amounts aren't much of a problem. That can easily be justified by just an act of kindness or the like.

The rule is more to make sure people don't give low levels like... 50.000 gold they usually wouldnever be able to have at that level.

1.000 gold... you could have easily gotten at a low level by a lucky goblin/kobold kill.
