One character concept per post. The reason for this is, if someone claims a concept, you can go back and edit your post to recolour it in red. Very easy to do if you just have one per post. You don't have to recolour, it's just a suggestion to avoid having more than one of this character running around.
Breaking the wall. Insert paragraphs, use bullet points, as long as there isn't a wall of text under each heading that's all that matters.
If you have played this character already and given up on them, don't post them unless at least a year has gone by since you last played them. Don't post their name or a cut-and-pasted biography. That's lazy!
No level-by-level builds. That's boring. You want someone else to take your idea and do something unexpected with it. Just tell us the crucial bits that must be present.
Reason why you want to see this character played by someone else. 'Because it's cool' is not a good enough reason. Remember that so many of these concepts started out as 'this will be cool' and fell by the wayside. A successful character concept needs to be beyond cool, it has to be amazing. Now tell us why it is.
Misc:
Claiming a concept. Name of the concept, colour it in green. If you later decide you can't do anything with it either, go back and edit it to red. Let someone else have a try.
Already done. If you've already done a character just like one of the concepts posted and you're still playing them, tell us! The idea is to create a repository of concepts that aren't being played.
Template:
Code:
[b][size=150]Witty concept name goes here[/size][/b]
General physical description: Anything about the character's appearance that you feel is crucial. You may be overruled by the person who takes on the concept, so don't get too attached to one particular look. Giving choices is good.
General personality profile: Any mental traits or quirks that are a must for this concept. Don't post mental ability scores here, even if they are essential to the concept.
Ideology: If they are faith-based character or have strong viewpoints on anything, this is the place to make note of that. Don't just say which deities they follow, tell us briefly how and why (remembering that this may be adapted by whomever takes over the concept).
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Stuff this concept needs to work, bare minimum. You can include the prerequisites for feats or classes if you like, or link to NWNWikia (unless the requirements have been changed for Amia).
Miscellaneous: Anything relevant to the concept not already covered - place of origin/birth, their life up until arriving on Amia.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: [st]Because bowties are cool. Because fezzes are cool. Because Stetsons are cool.[/st] What do you like about this character? What will they do for your RP if someone else plays them? Why are they interesting?

Example:
Sonic Guy/Girl
General physical description: The less physically imposing they are, the better. They shouldn't appear to be much of a threat.
General personality profile: Quirky with a dash of madness. Stir well and serve with fish fingers and custard.
Ideology: Though generally pacifist, it is a preference not a way of life for them. Instead of immediately making with a show of personal force, they attempt to resolve matters peacefully. When that fails, they have a brilliant plan to save the day. Usually.
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Ability to cast Sound Burst, Craft Wand feat. Open Locks optional but handy.
Miscellaneous: You may only make Sound Burst wands. No exceptions.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: Because... sonic! What is more amazing than having to procure bone wands for a character that uses all of them to spam a spell that will likely only inflict status ailments 1 time out of 20?
Claimed by: No-one! You do realise this is The Doctor, right? Good, I was getting worried.

This server ain't orcish enough!(love the DW reference in the example concept!)
The War-boss
Physical Description - Likely an Orog or a Half Orc(Ogrillions usually don't make for very good commanders) perhaps carrying a gruesome trophy around as a show of strength. Ideally strong or of healthy constitution.
Typical Personality - An orc blood of this type must be roughly intelligent and must have a strong personality. They typically antagonize their weaker minded kin into following them by beating them or making a serious display of strength.
Ideology - They ideally follow Gruumsh because Gruumsh' teachings fall well in line with what an Orcish leader should follow. To note they likely see weak warriors in a tribe as a sign of a weak leader rather than the tribe itself just being of weak or puny stock, and may be attacking these tribes to get to their leaders so that they may be slain and deposed in front of their own tribe.
Desirable classes, abilities, traits and skills -
*The best base classes would be Barbarian, Cleric or Ranger. Bard might work if you play it into the character properly.
*Good prestige classes are Divine Champion, Knight Commander, Weapon Master or even Blackguard if you're feeling ballsy.
*Idealy you'd want a decent CHA score and Wis score because a leader cannot lead if he/she lacks sense and personality to do so. You don't need to go all out on either and could probably get creative with this, because remember that being able to fight in Orcish society is a big step to being respected or feared by your peers.
*You definitely need intimidate and discipline, taunt being a good skill to add after these two if you decide to go for a second personality based skill into your build. Persuade is far too gentle for a War Boss.
Misc(Place of Origin, Birth etc) - This is up to your discretion, but remember that it should at least fall well in line with a history that would allow the character to retain the Orcish personality that makes you well..Orcish. Claimed by - None.
Why play this concept? - It'd be hard to play, but no doubt a player with initiative could inspire other Orcish PCs or even antagonize one of the many tribes on or around Amia to generate RP. I see potential with this concept in the right hands.
General physical description: This character would have to be a tiefling. However, unlike many tieflings on the server, this one only bears minor characteristics of their demonic or devilish blood. Characteristics that could easily be hidden. "Claws" that are kept trimmed down so as to not draw attention or "horns" that have to continually be filed down to keep from poking through the hairline. Any other characteristics could be whatever one desired.
General personality profile: This character is constantly fighting against their demonic blood. But, don't get it twisted. Their blood always wins out. They are most certainly evil. They just always try to justify what they do later by lying through their teeth about the circumstances and trying to come out the other side smelling like roses. Lying has become so engrained in their personality that they find it really hard to not lie. Even asking them little things like what they ate for breakfast will get a big lie out of the character. This character will never look past the opportunity to stab a "friend" in the back to get ahead in life... both figuratively and literally, though they'll justify it with some sort of crazy lie. The real twist as it were would be the constant struggle to justify their evil acts as not being evil.
Ideology: Mask or Cyric would probably be ideal, but other gods could work, too.
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Rogue-heavy build. High Persuade in the skills section and high Charisma (for a rogue, probably somewhere in the 16-18 range). Skill Focus: Persuade would be a nice topper, too. You could even throw in a bit
Miscellaneous: The character could be from anywhere, really.... though in my mind, I picture them coming from a goodly-leaning society. Ultimately tossed out on their ear once everybody figured out what kind of person they were.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: Because evil doesn't have to be "in your face" all the time. Sometimes, someone who does everything they can to convince people that they're not evil in the slightest (and may not consider themselves such) can be the most evil thing around. I also think it would be interesting to see how long the character could last mingling with the goodly side of Amia until everybody figured out the character's true nature.

*cough* I sort of have a character just like that. But i love the tiefer spin, yes yes!
_________________ Whomst've'll'd'mn't I play: Salema Nefahri::A penny for your thots Zrae'a'stra'fryn::That which nightmares are made of Khasir::From the East a storm is coming
General Physical Description: Either a Gnome or a Halfling (Strongheart would make a good choice here), with a beefy build, overcoming the normal racial strength deficit.
General Personal Description: A measured and thoughtful personality. Not necessarily very bright or particularly compelling, but with a certain plodding logic to them.
Ideology: This character could run the gamut, though I can see it being played as a Fighter dedicated to Arvoreen or Yondalla.
Required Abilities:Str & a good starting Dex for WM or Pure Str boosts and going for DevCrit. The intent is to make someone who is slow to act, but by god, when they do you best start running.
Misc Who doesn't want to see a halfling dualhanding a Bastard Sword?
Reason why you should play this: See Misc.

Man, this account is over 10 years old. Where do I get my old man beard?
General physical description: They need to look like they're off to save the world. Fashion sense is optional.
General personality profile: They may initially lack self-esteem or confidence in their own abilities. Failure hurts them more profoundly because they're not just trying to live up to their own expectations. They must have a savior complex, in other words, they feel they have to save other people.
Ideology: They must have a strong moral code, like their chosen hero or worship. When they are faced with a dilemma they often think, 'What would the Hero do?'
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Depends on the hero being emulated.
Miscellaneous: When this person was younger they witnessed a hero saving others or they were themselves saved from danger. Since then they have striven to be like that person, to the point of obsession. They may have studied magic in order to cast spells like them, they may have endured arduous physical training, anything to get a bit closer to the ideal. The hero may be any character that you know well that isn't one of your own. May transition from this concept if they realise that there's more to life than just saving other people, or if they come face-to-face with their hero and have their expectations shattered.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: Initially this may simply look like an excuse to copy someone else's character concept. But actually it's a chance to play a deeply flawed perfectionist character who could flake out at the worst possible time when things don't go the way they hoped. They will never be the same as the hero they are trying so hard to emulate, but they can still be heroic in their own right.

General physical description: Stocky, not very mobile looking, nearly dead-of face and most likely battle scarred beyond recognition,
General personality profile: Seeing others Die around him/her might have made him/her a slight bit crazy... probably insane some way, but gave him/her a Resolve, one to Never be the first to fall, and be the last one standing, you can take all the time in the world so long as you can take it right?... Right? no? maybe? or maybe he/she likes it who knows?
Ideology: Watching others Die, and be Raised alive or as undead, repeatedly, tends to break faith in the goodly faiths of the world, But surviving, Lasting, remembering,Nothings going to bring him/her down bar none...
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: a Very high CON score high Discipline, I invision a DD/PM build (Deurgar probably) with high DR and high survivability (But really just needs to survive where others would usually fall down and Die a lot)
Miscellaneous: Possibly watched his/her village get slaughtered, then found that undead are tough, inspired to be more like the undead? or just wants to Be the last man/woman standing, through everything even on one leg, He/she will be standing
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: Getting to play as a Super tough potentially Insane (or pain-loving) Creep with a thing for undead who wont die? why not?

Journal Entry I. - Day Twenty-Five, Elesias, the Highsun
"The Pieces are Set."
The stench of this city sours the already watered down piss-ale of the local tavern. They fear the monsters and savages in the great Wilds, amassing great legions of knights to eradicate the life within, yet turn blind eye to the monstrosity that they've created on their own. The monstrosity they call home.
I met a man today. The Middleman, he called himself. He's in the middle, certainly, but he hasn't the slightest clue that what he's in isn't opportunity. Rather, it's a pit of snakes in the shadows. And he's nothing more than a deer staring with dull, reactionless eyes. He won't survive more than a month. I'll bet on it.
The Lieutenant was more than I took her to be. "A Bastard Sword and a Butter Knife," I once told her. When in truth, she's a player, just like me. I won't underestimate her twice. I owed her a favor. She saved my life, and she took it once more with her request. But a King doesn't kill a King. He only arranges the pieces, letting the other do the hard work. All he has to do, is simply guide him along. The pieces are set. The City will consume itself.
Some call it war. Others, murder, killing, death, execution.. Here, they call it business. In a few months, this city will be on fire-- but I can't pull away. I feel it rising in me again, the addiction to the chaos. I can't stop, not even if I wanted to.
The Pieces are Set, and one by one, they will fall.
General physical description: Youthful, lithe, a cunning and calculative gaze. Weathered, in so far as clothing and appearance. Mostly clothed in leather and earth tones.
General personality profile: Generally speaking, the man has dual personas. On one: The gambler, the low-life, the risk taker. On the other, the calculative intelligence gatherer, and addict to the Chaos.
Ideology: The art of conning and the art of Lanceboard are all too similar. While he certainly is a master at the gambling tables, what he excels at is the game in which we're all involved in: The Web of lies, the discerning of truth-- and its manipulation. After all, the more difficult and exotic the game, the more intelligent the player.
In dealing with others, he considers them either opponents or victims. While typically keeping his trust reserved- he isn't incapable of the act. When it comes to planning, gathering sources, deceiving, he thinks five moves ahead, determines the likely route of his opponents, and counters it well before it even existed.
But the greatest con he ever pulled was making himself believe that he was in control...
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Rogue. Enough intelligence and dexterity to swindle, to cheat-- to play.
Reason to play: This kind of character is capable of intertwining himself with every kind of of faction, group, city, etc. To add, he's an intelligence gatherer, so you're always observing, listening, and drawing conclusions from the slivers of information you receive. So you should never be short of roleplay.
And the more you play the "Game", the further you'll spiral into an outright lack of control. Until you've got about 10 different problems in your head, men with large clubs at your door, and an empty flask of whiskey.
I could also see this character being a grand thief, of sorts. He's not a killer, but he certainly doesn't mind pillaging people's pockets. But instead of pickpocketing simpletons, he's more aligned with large projects (Larger Games, larger reward). One example would be gathering a crew and conducting a heist on the Waukeen Temple.
Claimed by: Currently, I'm running this character on another server. But on Amia, No one. I personally think this kind of character could be a blast to play on the Islands, so I posted it here for an interested person to sweep it up.
// There's no requirement to stick to the concept I've outlined either. Feel free to use parts and pieces for inspiration. Feedback is of course welcome!
I'm going to defy the conventional post format because I really am just ruminating, but I find this idea to be very amusing.
Ever noticed how no one seems to ever really take the cooking jobs very far? Well, I think that's terrible. Think how much culture can be expressed in food! And artistry! The fantastic dishes that can be concocted from questionably-edible magical beasts. This is what we need, folks. An avant-garde master chef, pushing the boundaries of culinary conventions. They could move to Tarkuul because the world is not ready for their genius! And open up a restaurant! Because Amia only has some 2 restaurants to my knowledge.
Seriously, plenty to be pursued here and no one has done so. It is saddening!
For that matter they should be an illithid, not that the request would likely get accepted. But for some reason the idea of an illithid pursuing the zenith of artistry of any kind is appealing to me. Y'know, like Haji.
General physical description: A face that rarely changes from the ever present dour expression of a man/woman that has lost faith! Their dress should be unruly, perhaps even stained with ale, food, etc, etc.
General personality profile: Thoroughly jaded this character grew up under a strict regieme of faith, discipline and respect for the rule of law that was crushed following his fall from grace. His understanding of his world has fell into an abyss of confusion following his deity, perhaps Torm, stripping him of his paladin boons. He is reserved, stand offish, and generally untrusting. He also harbours a bitter resentment for knights/law enforcers in general.
Ideology: They despise evil, but hold a special hatred for the evil that employs law for protection. They have taken it upon themselves to become answerable only to themselves, no longer adhering to the tenets of their god, only to their own personal code. If evil lives, it should be destroyed.
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: At least four fighter levels.
Miscellaneous: This character was raised as a paladin under the god [insert here] to respect law and fight evil. However, when the character decided to flaunt the law and murder a [rapist/murderer/gang lord] in cold blood, within a cell, knowing he would escape justice through his contacts in high places, or through simple law canniness he fell from grace and served a lengthy sentence in [insert city here] Being surrounded by the scum of faerun for many years influenced him more than he'd readily admit, he no longer holds respect for the laws that failed to met out justice, and punished him for doing what he believed to be his divine duty.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: This character, I believe, could be interesting to play. Sort of like a vigilante that employs brutal tactics to get the job done. Also the character would be faithless, having fallen from grace, he doesn't seek forgiveness or repentence from the church - infact he goes so far as to employ his extensive knowledge of local laws to avoid their justic for the crimes he commits in the name of "good." Essentially hunting monsters has left him, well, a ruthless monster.

This is sparse for a reason, as the concept is general and really is supposed to be applied to more than one character. It's meant to be a group concept, sort of.
Quote:
What's in a name?
General physical description: Doesn't really matter too much.
General personality profile: This character is essentially someone that believes in solving the issue of disbursement of 'epic items'. They work great in a group, and should really have some others of the same mind to help with their common goal!
Ideology: Doesn't really matter, likely a 'giving' sort of deity, though.
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Open to interpretation, for the most part. A healthy ability to survive epic encounters would make sense. Some social skills would be handy, but nothing overboard. CHA is nice, just a few points in the least, but not needed (see social skills). They should at least be friendly, as no one likes a gruff merchant!
Miscellaneous: This would do best in a group of like-minded individuals.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: Because, well, who doesn't like irritating the 1% by undercutting all their prices on things? An almost guaranteed RP-generator in that you and your band of merry (legal) thieves will be sticking it to the Man in style: with epic gear! You'll be like a Robin Hood of Amia, except without having to mug anyone.

I wish I had the time to play this character, I would love to start something like this up! But, alas, too many characters to play and too little time, haha!
Addendum: If may be persuaded to get a character involved if one of my existing active characters would mesh well. Just saying.

STOP PLANTING IDEAS INTO MY BRAIN.
Very tempted to try a hand at this, although I'm revamping my app. for an Archon, so I'm not sure whether or not now would be the best of times to do so.
Miscellaneous: This character is LE, but is absolutely convinced that they are a LG paladin.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: You will be able to enjoy the irony of playing your character almost exactly the same as any other paladin, whilst being evil and never having to fear the fall.
General physical description: Early levels: Weak, feeble looking, cloaked, a large dark red and black tattoo on left forearm. Later levels: Strong, armoured.
General personality profile: Likely TN, subject to change as time goes by. Conflicted likely displaying traits from each alignment in turn, devil influence corrupting an otherwise goodly soul.
Ideology: Believed in doing anything for <insert city here> a scholar and advisor, slowly being corrupted into a being of evil.
Required abilities, skills, feats, classes: Possible Blackguard levels, definite fighter levels, possibly Sorcerer or Wizard levels.
Miscellaneous: Once an intelligent scholar, and advisor to <insert leader of <insert city here> here> this character had a promising future in the politics of <insert city here> until it was plunged into a seemingly endless war, one which they were slowly losing, sickened by the sight of the dying, and starving he took matters into his own matters.
He had read of devilish pacts, and although wary of them he was willing to sacrifice himself for the good of his city, no matter the consequence. He offered himself in servitude to the 9, if they aided the city's plight. It was a decision that was to save and destroy the city in one hellish moment, their enemies were broken by hellfire, and <insert name here> thought he sacrifice had saved them all.
And that's when they turned on the city itself, wicked creatures ran through the streets, murdering those who refused to forfeit their souls for their freedom, setting buildings and men alight.
And so <insert name here> ran. He didn't want to share their fate, nor did he wish to face what he had done. He thought that he could outrun the forces of hell. That he could hide.
But the fiends of the nine are not so easy to avoid.
Reason why this concept is amazing and you should play it: Because I've always thought the sort of internal conflict kind of stuff is cool, and if I had the time I'd sure as hells (Pun intended) play it myself. Though I'm pretty sure this likely isn't lore correct if anyone cares to make it so and play this, feel free, I think it might bring something pretty cool to Amia, and be fun to play too!
