The company that owns the building where our server is in went bust. Our hosting company has to move its clients to a new spot, which they will do sooner or later. That will obviously result in some down time, but we also get a new ip-address. Unfortunately I don't know anything more substantial atm. So, if amiaworld.net is down, it may be the moving. If the forum runs, but you can't get into nwn, you may need to change the ip-address. I'll make a big post about that, of course. |

Yep, website up, servers down. Just found Amia and now it has been denied me. So very unspiffy. |

You missed the fun last year, otter, when the whole shebang went down for about 2 weeks. Pretty sure some of us were planning homicide by the time it came back up. Sacrifice to The Great Chicken, don'tcha know? |

Just out of curiosity, and without any intention of being a nag, do we have any idea of the rough time frame we're looking at here? Hours? Days? (Hopefully not) weeks? |

I have no idea if it's even been moved yet. I'm going to just boot the servers back up for now until I know what's going on. |

I think I still have screenies of a bunch of us sitting around the entry to B, which was used as a "placeholder" so we could at least meet up and talk, all in cloaks and helms, bowing and scraping to an effigy of Disco. |

Sorry for being unspecific, but my idea of 'sooner or later' was 'somewhere in August'. So, nothing has changed yet. I doubt it will be a matter of minutes anyway, as the server has to be moved about 20 km.... |

Alright, the server gets moved in about 2,5 hours from now. Mind that we will get a new IP address, which you'll probably need to change while trying to login to the game. I'll obviously post that when I know what it's going to be. |

... and the new ip-address will be 185.29.203.11 Write it down now if you want to play as soon as possible after the move. |

Sorry if I'm being a dimwit, but whats the address for B? Can only get to A and the portal wand says "no". EDIT: 2 seconds later I notice the address in the top left corner Amia forum status box thingy: 185.29.203.11:5122 Ignore me. |

There's a little tail to my tale: the server hasn't moved yet. I was a bit puzzled how they managed to move the machine over 25 km within 3 seconds (and without stopping the game), so I asked about it. They're probably moving it this weekend. Hopefully that also deals with the connection issues. |

I've got a few people who can't access the forums, what do? For me I just had to delete cookies and then I could googlesearch amia and got in from there (or just had to wait a little bit). Is that all it takes, a periodic cache update? I can't seem to figure out how to initiate the fix though. |

Go through the usual stuff: clear cache and cookies try a different browser, etc. If it still doesn't work, reset your router. If it still doesn't work... well. |

I switched my DNS server to the Google one. Then changed it back to my normal one. And Amia's forums were accessible. Deleting cookies, clearing cache, none of that stuff I normally do for this issue did absolutely nothing for me. |

It's some session issue, I couldn't login as well. A little trick: try "amiawowlrd.net" instead of "www.amiaworld.net". I'm not sure if it's on a to-do list somewhere or not, but I've noticed that since the IP address change Amia has been missing from the NWNCX server listings. I think it would behoove the administration to list the server again (as if I recall correctly, when I initially started using the NWNCX client Amia did appear in the roleplay servers section) for the sake of facilitating both new arrivals and for the convenience of anyone who happens to use NWNCX. |

| Post subject: | Re: Incoming downtime |
From what I understand (and from what is detailed in the link) it is a change/override to a reference in the nwserver file that will redirect it to another listing's server hosted by a party other than gamespy. I'm guessing I probably noticed Amia in my history tab rather than the actual listings now, but I think it still is worthwhile to make sure Amia is available there, as Arelith and the other big boys seem to have made sure to keep up with the evolution of good old NWN. The submission based methods like NWN Scry and what not have nothing to do with the client extension, as far as I know. |

Ahhh, didn't read. Edited the host file. Now we just have to wait till the nwn servers restart. I passed Scry stuff to Terra, perhaps he can add it. |
