Firstly, hello.

I just recently heard Amia was 'a thing' and it piqued my interest. I've come by to have a look and see how it suits me, hoping to form up some decent RP with the existing community.

Secondly, I have never done this before.

I've downloaded the HAK and a few extras, registered here and so on. But I can't find any information on what my next steps are. The ones before character creation. I.e. getting in.
I opened NWN, Multiplayer, and tried to Direct Connect to one of the two IPs but, nothing. What am I missing?

And now, a new issue.

I managed to get to Character Creation by using the Favourites method of access I've seen posted about. Only, for some reason I've no portraits. The Amian Portrait Pack is players' custom portraits, correct? So I wouldn't want to be using those. But there's no default/generic to choose from.

What have I missed here?

Did you extract Amia's head pack into your Portraits folder, or your Override folder?

I haven't taken it at all, assuming it's just a collection of folk's own faces. Or is this wrong?
Looking at my NWN folder, I don't have anything called Portraits. Everything I've put in so far has been in Override.

No portraits makes it sound like your install was botched.

I'm not sure why you'd be missing all of your portraits. The game should come with heaps to use, straight out of the box. Sounds like the install didn't quite work properly.

Installing the HOTU Portrait Unlocker might help, as that will either:

Just unzip the file, choose a gender and move the portraits.2da into NWN's Override folder.

Edit: Or, if you want to be boring, I guess just reinstalling the game could work too.

Might have mucked something up along the way today. Single Player was working fine yesterday.

That's sorted it, thank you. Odd, as I'd apparently done it already. But y'know, when once doesn't work - you better do it twice.
