I have a question about the posting of unsigned notes, especially in Cordor these are rather common and rarely even include a description of the one doling them around. I wonder what the rules on these are as them being posting with what seems to be impunity feels wrong to me. Can you just post them and assume you were unseen even if you spam spread notes all around the city? Can you ask a DM if you want to find out more about the poster of any anonymous note? Isnt it metagaming npc's who might be quite unhappy with someone putting notes lambasting people they may well like/ support next to them? Are people required to walk around emoting the actions with a DM's oversight/ blessing? Any DM clarification would be much apprechiated. Again, this is only for unsigned notes, moreso about notes who dont include any description of the one distributing them. |

But placing it is a different matter. Even if the person PLACING the ntoe isn't the one writing it, wouldn't be hard to see people who place the notices. |

This is why, in my postings as a DM, the only "notes" posted that could be read by the general public consisted either of those going in a very formal way (printed in the newspaper, for example, or placed on the public notice boards with an easy way to know how it got there) or directly spoken, giving players an opportunity to harangue said PC or NPC in person IG as necessary. Therefore, I think "unsigned notes" are just players' way of speaking their mind and making little quips with no fear of reprisal. I don't think anyone needs to do anything about it happening because it's just natural for people to do that, but there's nothing wrong with looking down your nose at those who engage in this kind of littering. Gods, think of all the wasted paper... |

And the wasted time in writing so many replacement notes, and watching for your notices to be torn down to replace them at regular intervals while being unseen, all over a rather large island or several islands. So much time, it is likely a full-time job just to do that. |

Thanks for the responses. Frankly I hope the DM's follow Yossarins train of thought for the reasons Nivo added. I'd like to add that in the setting paper (or ink) isnt exactly a cheap or easy to acquire resource imho which as well which complicates posting en masse even more (I even pondered about collecting notes and trying to turn them into wizards scrolls 'yeah, dont mind the writing on the back. This side is perfectly usable for your scribing'.) Also, the paper press hasnt been invented on Amia as far as I know so writing a hundred or even ten notes is going to take you some time as well unless you have aid which to me makes only mass postings by individuals backed by organisations creditable. Nb: This post is my opinion, not facts, if there is a printing press invented ignore the argument. |

There are a few printing presses, in the control of various NPCs and PCs. But nothing wide-spread or for use of the general public. |

Yes, apparently the printing press is a unique Lantanese invention! Or so I've heard. |

Magehand pin things up onto the noticeboard with impunity. |
