Need to maintain greater setting immersion and leave the real world at the door. Evaluate your use of language and take a little more time before hitting enter to ensure it flows with the setting. Take a greater amount of time when planning out a character rather than hopping onto whatever trope/archetype strikes your fancy that month. Write out a relatively simple backstory with a timeline and flesh it out as your PC 'remembers' or discusses those events, and include a personality and a set of character goals they hope to accomplish. Playing a memorable, influential character takes quite a bit of homework I find.

Like what the Shadow Ninja is saying take more time to really think out a character that really speaks to you as a player. Whether they be good or bad, lawful or chaotic or just sitting on the fence with the rest of the neutrals. Their little quirks, hobbies, likes and dislikes, things that drive them. Make long term goals for yourself, have them be as ambitious or simple as you like. It's all about having fun and I promise from experience you will have a lot more fun when focusing most of your time on a character you truly enjoy playing. You will see a story unfold, your character changing, growing and becoming someone else or reaffirming who they always were. This is a novel and your character is the protagonist, don't worry about the ending of the story because the path you take to get there is what it's really all about.
I think you're a blast to play with - between RP and tell conversations I always have fun chatting with you. It's a game and we're here to have fun. My impression.

Im not certain why you would make a thread like this and deny any wrong doing.
