I have to say the community contributions featured in threads like Eurgiga's and PassionateShadow's have been really inspiring, so much so that I approached developer Polris about a curious desire of mine; to see if Gertrude, Greta Sólveig's bastard sword, could be made to look properly as she should in-game.

Following from nefos' actual CG designs that he made for me for my IC Stories, Polris was able to make an extremely accurate model, keeping to the many polygon limits that NWN (and Amia) are recommended to have.

I have approached the dms about this little custom job and was curious to see if it could be added alongside many of the awesome stuff that Eurgiga and PassionateShadow are creating. Originally it was a private request but its later been recommended that this be open to the community and I agree. The decision is still pending on that front, but it was made quite clear that if any of us ever have any ideas for contributing content like this in HAK form, make sure it is of use to the community as a whole.

If this sword is accepted I'd like to let all you folks know you're welcome to use the appearance partially or fully. As a typical weapon its displayed in separate sections by a Top, Middle and Bottom with choice colours, so you're all welcome to make your own "frankenstein" version of the sword.

So what do you guys think of the sword? Be sure to let Polris know what you think of his cool work. But most importantly, if any of you other folks have ideas for weapon models or wanna showcase them, you're free to use this thread to do so. I've been seeing lots of love for HAK content of clothes, but nothing for weapons, lets see what you folks can do!

While it is a lot more reasonable than other fantasy models for swords, I really cant see that appearance fitting with our general theme. That is my opinion, anyway.

Amia has sword models that look like crystal that are freely usable, this (and especially its individual pieces) are pretty mundane compared to a few options, with the blade section being fairly similar to an existing one and the hilt I could see having good use for some more "barbarian" looking swords.

Even otherwise FR is a high magic setting, and so this sword design hardly appears overly out of place in my view.

I think it looks great! I feel it is more than reasonable for high fanstasy/magic FR.

High magic, not high fantasy. Anyway, those gemstone weapon and shield models are a part of Neverwinter Nights, as opposed to an Amia addition.
