In the Maw of Moander Concept: After the destruction of the Jawed God, his worshippers scattered and were weeded out of the land. Or so everyone thinks. A small group of stalwart followers thrived, seething just beneath the surface: abandoned and forlorn, they waited for thirty years before setting their plan in motion, guided by the last, maddening visions of the Darkbringer and seeking to make Amia the cradle of his rebirth. Note about dead gods and lore: since Lloth inherited Moander's portfolio, we'll play the cult as something similar to what happened to Ibrandulites when Shar took over his portfolio. These Moanderites believe that Moander was -nearly- killed and that the blow weakened him to the point it is up to its cultists to spread its influence once more through the lasting echo of his power. Races: Any Alignment: Evil only Classes: No paladins, powerless (?) clerics only. Whichever the combination, play it as appropriately feral. Goals: To nourish the seed of corruption, creating their own and ever expanding rotten grove. To convert others, even forcibly, to the cult of Moander, destroying civilization and civilized ones if they refuse. Rules: To abide to PVP rules, to provide excellent roleplay for others, and to permanently kill the character the first time they will be murdered by another PC (and not just knocked out, left for dead etc. No resurrections, barring DM intervention). Current players: - A Mystery Clock (Rotbringer Zhalsar Aketar - DECEASED) - Joe15552 (Choggokk - RETIRED) - Kahuna - (Brunor) - Maverick00053 (Umbra Percussorem) - Mojoec (Geberiegyr - DECEASED) - Eurgiga (No spoilers ) - Finwe_X (Agetor) - Magiros (Huth) - Broldi (Nsi - DECEASED) - Zombie_duck (Blake) - Travis (?) Edit: We decided to allow rolling more than one character after the main died. These characters abide to the same rules, but do not count towards keeping the concept alive. When all mains die, we'll move on to the next concept. "Application" for this group is now closed! Use this thread for comments and non-spoileriffic screenshots about the group!

What, precisely, is a powerless cleric?
Also, given Moander died over a thousand years ago, how would current PCs have gotten these visions?

I think he means a fallen cleric? One whose deity cannot/will not give divine power for spells. Visions, delusions, hallucinations. Whatever! They're following them.

Oh, they're probably just delusional then. But one of two things can happen I think. (From past experiences) The god(s) that took his portfolio are giving them powers and visions instead OR The tiny amount of his divinity left that is floating on the Astral Sea (allegedly) sends them said visions, but cannot grant power due to being such an insignificant amount of actual divine power. I'm fairly sure there's a tiny part of him on the Astral Sea, anyway. I'm reading off FR wiki, so take what I say with a handful of salt.

Use this thread for comments please, do not turn it into huge lore fights. Moander died about 30 years before the current IG events take place. Lloth inherited his portfolio and is granting boons but there is no mention whether the clerics know or they do not (this is the case of clerics of Ibrandul and Shar, so it can happen).
We prefer to play a group that believes that Moander is nearly dead, but still granting boons and having an influence on the land. To avoid excessive nitpicking however, playing a cleric is discouraged.
The other questions have largely been answered already. Read better what has already been written in the group concept, please:
Note about dead gods and lore: since Lloth inherited Moander's portfolio, we'll play the cult as something similar to what happened to Ibrandulites when Shar took over his portfolio. These Moanderites believe that Moander was -nearly- killed and that the blow weakened him to the point it is up to its cultists to spread its influence once more through the lasting echo of his power.

Reading the FR Wiki now too, and Moander makes me laugh. He's been thwarted so many times I picture him as the archetypal villain twizzling his bomb-blasted moustache while the stupid henchman suggests their next 'cunning plan'. He's fantastic at evading permadeath, though. 'Only an UNBORN CHILD can free you! Let's see you get out of this one!'... *poof* 'damnit.'

Golly, ain't this positively tingling! I have a character who'd be a good match for your gang and he's entirely disposable. Are you intending to run this like a campaign of sorts, or is it possible to make a convenient introduction later on without mailing a proper application?

It's still possible to jump on board. Application isn't per se needed, but a five minutes talk is recommended. PM me or prod me IG!

According to the Wiki, citing a book 'Faiths and Avatars'; the cult of Moander is kept alive by Lolth impersonating Moander on the surface world and answering prayers to any clerics of Moander there may still be around. Apparently it's motivated by the notion that elves viewed Moander as a more present force of corruption than Lolth was. So you can have Moanderite cleric stuff, just need to take Lolth mechanically.

http://i.imgur.com/QfdeI8E.jpgThe chultan savage came across a drow picking apples, peacefully to his self today. The mother grows hungry. Nsi approached the drow, whom couldn't understand common. This aggitated the savage, causing outbursts of shouting and screaming. He offered to have the drow feed the Rotlord peacefully, he cut his own hand and smeared his blood into the ground at his feet. The drow, took the opportunity to sprint for his life! Poor move, as the woodland raised savage gave persuit, charging after manicly. The chase endeavoured from BEndir, to Cordor, through a lamp to Winya where the chase ended. Surrounded by elves, Nsi and the drow stood face to face, the savage holding the diminutive drow by the shoulders. With out further waiting, the drow had its hand impaled by the savages rusted blade. After telling the drow that the mother will be hungry again soon, and not to make him have to be the man to make the drow feed her again, he left, walking through the elves like nothing had happened. The drow had fell to his knees in agony, the elves watched him suffer as Nsi walked away blissfully into the sunrise of the forest.

The first three characters died! However, not before pulling off some awesomeness. This all happened over the span of roughly two hours. An encounter in the forest, tithing hapless lowbies (like us). http://i.imgur.com/Jvlg33L.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/CRg8wad.jpgWe obviously had our backs handed back to us, until Nsi came back, saving the day. http://i.imgur.com/STr6zNZ.jpgWe then dragged the would be sacrifices into our evil cave, and lecturing began. Two of them managed to break free, and we were too busy chanting odes to the Rotlord to flee. http://i.imgur.com/irDnxZJ.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/ZJKXQlN.jpgHowever, we managed to curse/bless one of our prisoners with rot, before... http://i.imgur.com/EAC5BoJ.jpg... being shot, burned and then shot again, thus ending the tale of Zhalsar, Gerbegeyr and Nsi. http://i.imgur.com/rIIIkl5.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/7xKukvL.jpgRock on in the other world, guys. A special thank to Thorgeir, Eldar and the magnificent Arahae for the excellent roleplay! http://i.imgur.com/3o6z2Y3.jpgMo. An. Der. Ps: The cult isn't dead yet. Moander shall prevail!

As per Broldi's request: Quote: Zhalsar, Geberiegyr, and Nsi... HOLY SHIT! That was fun. My first PvP.. EVER.. and it was a blast! I don't think Eldar or Arahae had a clue what was about to go down out of a simple hunting trip. I sure as hell didn't. Thumbs up guys, that was awesome. And thanks to Leuan for helping us out of a jam. He's the typical Elf's Elf douche, but I still like him. I'd definitely like to see more of this, it was a lot of fun (for all involved I hope). Even getting beaten in PvP wasn't at all bad. Being held prisoner was great. I kind of wish we wouldn't have escaped though, as I think we missed out on some good RP when we left. Oh well, what I got to be part of was very enjoyable. Hopefully I'll get to take part in some more in the future! Rock on guys, you're awesome!

Hey, guys. I'm gonna have to pull out. Got a job, and got Vuz back up and running again, so I don't really have extra time anymore.
