... who spent how many hours making that awesome thing for someone else instead
of playing your new game.

... who decided to run an event instead of playing your own characters.

... who could be doing anything else, but decided to try making someone else's experience here better.

We need to remember that DMs choose to do what they do and give of themselves freely.
