Do we remember why we can't have the CEP or other stuff on Amia? |

That's a good question. ... What's CEP? |

Community Expansion Pack. Adds shittons of stuff to NwN. And it was made years ago. Why can't we have that, or other nice well known addons, in Amia? I don't know if we have a clear answer on this, or an answer at all. |

Some of the stuff we have is from the CEP. But the CEP itself, as a whole, is way too massive to force people to download to play Amia. And then there is quality control, as a lot of stuff in the CEP doesn't fit in with our setting or is downright ridiculous if I recall. |

There's so much good CEP stuff we're missing on Amia. Weapon models, bow models, MORE FEMALE CHEST PARTS <.< But really, some clothes parts are available in fragments. Example would be the female arm part nr. 32 I think. But there's no forearms that are supposed to go with them. |

You are free to make recommendations on what the developers could add to the next hak, though there's no guarantee it will go in. |

I for one always had a love for the Tiger head helmet appearance that was in the CEP. Recently PC Rakshasa models were added to the Amia Module. That type of helmet would be beneficial for any playable Rakshasas. Here's what it looked like.

As for the download... does anyone honestly mind a download anymore? I mean, you have to download the other files for Amia, what's a bit more? |

That's the reason basically, to my knowledge. Also, CEP content could potentially collide with our custom content. 2da files would need merging, etc. So anything we want from it needs to be imported into our haks. It can not simply be added to the list and expected to work. |

It's a lot better to pick and choose what we actually want in our module than force everyone to download everything in CEP. If you see a few things you like(and that are of decent quality), probably good to make note of it and maybe it can be culled the next time we're looking for things to update the HAK. But yes, there's plenty in CEP that either looks dumb or is just plain dumb for us. |

When Pony did the hak updates last, he spent a year (or more) combing through CEP and a massive amount of other things. He picked content based on what fit our setting, as well as discarded certain things because the models were bad, had too high of a polygon count (which causes lots of lag client side and other issues), as well as other things. That is to say... we have a lot of CEP, just not the entire thing. As others have said, you are always welcome to make recommendations for the next hak update. There is usually a thread for that somewhere. |

Richard_Edmund, everyone that can play NwN has a few gigabytes of disk space But the content quality does make sense, and I did not know that the CEP had already been gone through to find some of the best content to add. It was just brought up in Skype and I was wondering why we didn't have it; but it turns out we do have some of it! Thanks for the responses dev/DM team! |

Better question yet, why don't we have the majority of the PRC! Tome of battle, psionics and much much more! http://www.athasreborn.com/prc/manual/ http://neverwintervault.org/project/nwn ... c-pack-v35 |

I'd say quality control, balance issues and scripting conflicts. |

Amia is rather in need of some large scale re-balancing already, and honestly a LOT of the script in use could use a good overhaul. Personally I am solidly in the PRO nwncx/CEP camp, once upon a time when there was a server list it made sense not to have it (or even a HAK pack at all), however with the current situation there is little lost by the additional download requirements and a lot gained. There is already required additional downloads and they are already large enough to be a commitment and yet small enough by almost any storage capacity standards these days that it is a negligible increase in that regard. |

TormakSaber wrote: He's talking about the clientside loader. Are we talking about nwncx then? If so, it can be used and is just a client side choice, just won't preload the hak list. Making it mandatory, to use things like new weapon VFX and open helmets, would leave out people using linux client. |
