So, this is something I've been wondering about for a short bit, since actually getting the ability on Aedan. There's very little in the way of actual information on how it works. Especially given that a Master Scout could easily not have a magic using character as the base. So, it would then have to be something different from alchemy or magic, right?

Since getting the ability, I've been RPing that Aedan kind of makes the potions in a similar way to how it's done in the Witcher games. Hell, even at higher levels when getting the ability to make bombs (that can also be oils to put on a weapon *wink wink*) can easily be compared to the Witcher games, imo. So, using a strong alcohol as a base and putting in various... whatever. I feel it does have to differ somewhat, as people on the server don't exactly have Witcher mutations. XD So mostly just been going with dried up herbs and other plants, as well as sprinkling in powdered gold (to explain the 500 GP cost, even if it's not quite that much), then adding some water. With Aedan specifically, I decided to throw in a single muttered word or something, that causes it to take effect. But, overall, I'm actually finding it a bit difficult to really make it make sense. Especially since the potions have an even longer lasting time limit than the better stat boosting potions you can buy in shops.

So, how do other people RP out the idea of crafting these potions on the fly, at any time?

I honestly haven't thought about it in any depth. I normally don't craft them when others are around though interestingly i don't use them all the time and ICly buy others in shops and use those first. I guess if i was pushed on it i would take the line that i'm not making them but taking what i have and mixing to make them better. ICly Shana has no real potions knowledge so making them from scratch , for me, makes little sense in relation to her. Now living in the wilds and being alone one might figure out how to extend or mix potions to get a better effect from them.

As for the other craft-able items... hmm yeah not thought about that one yet!

The items are clearly described as alchemical and magic in origin, in their descriptions, so keep that in mind.

Oh damn. I strangely didn't even notice that. Well alright then! Though, I suppose the method I've been using can still be used, in any case. Just a couple minor tweaks to the RP. Then again, I haven't really explained, IC, what the ingredients /really/ are. But ah well. Still works! Thanks for the heads up on that, Tormak.

So.... A seemingly magical power or process of transmuting... to quote a dictionary? Technically transmuting then? For RP sake then does that mean a character should really have an understanding of some magical processes? Or are we thinking more chemistry minded individual?

I guess really there should be some level of similarity in how this is RP out among those who use the Master Scout crafting.

I'm not making any huge statements to force your RP, just saying that the items are pretty clearly more than "just mundane".

That's okay, i don't mind forced RP at times as it can help to keep things clear! lol ... but that's fine!

I keep it as an alchemist thing usually. Any of those gears can be made with alchemy without any magic involved, save the potions maybe?
