What are the limits of arrows I can enchant with imbue arrow? I can't seem to put the 1d8 dmg on most of the arrows I use.

Imbue Arrow
Cast the following arcane spells on basic arrows in your inventory via the Imbue Arrow feat to gain the specified bonus damage (Duration: 1 Hour per Arcane Archer level, Extend Spell is included if applicable):

Ice Storm: Cold
Mestil’s Acid Breath: Acid
Fireball: Fire
Lightning Bolt: Lightning
Enervation: Negative
Sound Burst: Sonic

There shouldn't be a limit to /what/ arrows, considering it should work for all arrows.

Threw in the listed above to help you, encase you want to do other type of damage.

Hey then I think something is wrong with the system because it is not letting me apply elemental damage to most arrows I use. For example I have some dc 20 slay undead arrows and it says incorrect item when I use a scroll on them.

You can't apply scrolls, silly. :P At least, I don't think it works that way. I never played a AA on Amia. I think you're suppose to cast spells onto it.

This is the big one - you need to cast it on arrows with no other properties.

Yeah you can use scrolls and you can use them on arrows with effects just not all arrows with effects. I just wan to know which ones. Also I'm not guessing these things I have an AA who uses scrolls etc.

Think about how pointless it would be to have a 1d8 buff on only naked arrows when you can easily find 1d12 arrows and multiply them. Maybe it depends on the arrow cost or level requirements, the ones I am able to imbue were usable since very early.

as someone that had a rather normal aa build with an ab that got through all ac and did an avarage of around 100 damage a shot...along with a rather large chance for status effects....no buffs please... those AA arrows are nuts

The ability description quoted above says to cast them on basic arrows, so that's all anyone ever figured they could do. Which is why no one bothers and everyone thinks that ability is useless.

So if you're casting (from scrolls...I didn't know we could do that, either) onto arrows that have properties and it's working for you, then all I can say is "WTF? Why does no one know you can do that?"

Which non-basic arrows have you tried it on and it works?

Where are you getting 100 dmg I will only have around 50 on a max roll at lv30. I don't think divine might can give 50 more

+ 10 aa class
+ 1d8 base
+ 5 mighty
+ 2d12 arrow
+ 6 epic weapon spec
+ buffs like divine favor/might

might be missing ish but that's about what it's going to look like

Odd times I hit and roll the hundred or over... as a mundane archer so it is doable!

On a crit or just all the time?

What's your item build or relevant class levels? Where are the numbers coming from?

That would be a crit. I know, Crow hit for 111 just the other day, and he's no longer an archer build. It blew my mind. He was using a Black Ash bow with Blade Thirst, and a Doom arrow, that's it.

Yeah that's critting. Sorry to thread jack, mundane archers seem to hit as high as the AA but it isn't consistent and very situation dependent. Ranger like Crow with all my focus in longbow... and I switch arrows alot!

Well arcane archer gets plus ten arrows meaning they beat basically all DR and a big ab boost as a result. Not to mention imbue arrows.

I know, actually makes playing a 'normal' archer rather pointless, but that's my RP and i stick to it!
