Ah, the Cold War...Hiding under desks won't do shit when you get nuked.  Also, I worked with a former marine who was in Afghanistan in the 80's all hush hush. He told me he had to pull dog tags off of dead Russian bodies. Most people don't know much about that stuff. On topic: I push r+2 constantly so I know how much time I have. It's a good habit to get into. |

All this new stuff happening in Syria is a blur to practically everyone. Are there a lot of secret things happening? I can't uncover what the US and Russia are really doing, and that place is a hellscape. I can only assume weapons are being sold to unaffiliated factions that serve as proxy armies for some greater purpose(?). The whole thing frightens me- I can just feel bad stuff from it. |

ISIS wants to bring about the apocalypse and bring about the return of the Mahdi, they're a fringe sect of Islam. Syria's government was oppressive and dick-ish as most Middle Eastern governments seem to be in one way or another (because most of them are theocratic in nature.) Fighting between the government, rebels, and ISIS, is all happening. I think that's the short version. |
