They say they stopped the server because I didn't pay their bills for 5 years. Which is true, but they never sent me one and stopped the automatic payment without notifying me. So, I didn't notice not paying. It took a few days to sort that one out, not in the least because I don't believe their side of the story.

Anyway, the bills are paid and the server runs again.

That really isn't something you keep doing for five years in hopes of being paid. That is having such a terrible control over your business that you lose track of financial information for the servers you have in the back. They lost track of a server for five years running in their own server farm. That is pretty bad.

Not a fan of Discords. Skype on steroids. Wrong shit gets spread real fast. Like people saying Disco never owned the server and that the bills weren't being paid. Just blatant lies.

Three of the Tormak accounts in Discord were me. I thought your initial comments about the public Discord in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=87086 were an over reaction and, as MightNMagic rightly pointed out, that made it funny to use your username in Discord.

Don't worry, I wasn't pretending to be you or besmirching your good name.

I gotta say Krin, the evidence is quite compelling. Why would you join a discord server for "Public Amia Chat" from a temporary session you didn't bother to save 4 times with a DM avatar's name if you are not impersonating a DM?

Also, the fact that one of them is "Tormak(notactuallytormak)" might have some insight in that maybe you yourself realized it was not a good idea.

I'd venture to guess that nobody likes to be impersonated, yourself included, much less in a small tight knit community like this one regardless of the medium. It's just disrespectful, and not even funny.

Regardless, maybe we have learned enough from this experience, and can all move on with just that in mind.

Or maybe I just don't want randoms using my name in other communities and making asses of themselves, something I have had problems with in the past, and have had to reach out to admins to have cleared up because I was almsot axed from communities over people's idea of a "Joke".

Next time I think something is funny, but objectively shits on another player and misrepresents their identity, i'll be sure to do it.

Big groups are bound to have shit talking. But all I heard was on facebook that Disco was looking into it and that the company hosting it had some kind of changing in management and that the Amian crew was looking into changing the host. That is a bit more friendly put I say.

A shitty company? Some people have a short fuse. I realize it definitely sucks that they dropped the ball on their end in terms of payment, but maybe consider the fact that they thought the box was delinquent for 5 years and kept it running all that time hoping to have the payment, before turning it off. That's kind of impressive all by itself! Unfortunately, what a big bill to pay in one go, I would imagine something like 1,500€ (25€ * 60 Months)? Hopefully they credited you some for their error, or failed to backbill some of that.

Anyone claiming to be me is not me, and anything they say is not coming from me. I would appreciate being told if people are assuming my name and saying things, because I will be making logs and records of claimed information. I don't appreciate little stunts like this, btw, and if I find out names of people I will be sending names to the DM team. I don't care if it's Discord, if you're fucking around and using my name, I will follow up on it.

Anytime I've seen one of the "Tormaks" say anything, it's started with "I'm not actually Tormak" and done with tongue-in-cheek humor. No one is abusing Discord by pretending to be anyone, from what I've seen. That said, if Tormak doesn't want people to playfully use his name, then that's just as fair and likely won't be allowed to continue - even in jest.

I just did a quick search of the username 'Commie' there and nothing came up, so I think you're clear. EDIT: Don't know about Skype though. I'm not in any of the mysterious Amian skype groups.

As often as you were upset when you felt someone misrepresented you or your position on things, I'm surprised you thought it was a good idea to impersonate a DM in Discord. The evidence is compelling because I wasn't hiding it. That's the point. It was me three times total, including the 'Tormak(notactuallytormak)' account. I don't know who the others are. I thought it was a great idea. I still don't see the problem with it and, given the proper context, I think it is pretty funny. I wouldn't mind someone using 'Krin' in Discord so long as they weren't attempting to make people think they were me. Honestly, the only reason I haven't done it since November of last year is because Tormak and I have publicly exchanged unfriendly words and I don't think it would be okay for me to make that joke anymore. I joined that Discord many times with many different accounts because I was peeking in while at work on my office computer, usually on a lunch break, and I don't have Discord installed on it. This is why there are also 4 'Rumple' accounts in Discord. Those were me too. I think my only mistake was assuming people in this tight knit community could tell the difference between a playful joke in good faith and a covert, malicious attempt to assume the role of a DM.

I can understand the concern, but that isn't what happened. The only time I ever said anything in the username 'Tormak' was just to ask if anyone knew how to use the toolset. I didn't get an answer in time so I assumed no one was active and logged off. Much ado about nothing.

Because your over reaction(in my opinion) to the Discord server in the other thread made it funny. The next time I was on after that was a couple weeks later. I saw that people had mentioned Tormak accounts the day before so I made clear that three of them were me. That's as far as it goes.
