I believe there is more than the two I know about: kama and sickle.

This is sort of a selfish improvement as I have two characters whom would benefit. I would like the kama to be craftable to the claws and the sickle craftable to the punch-dagger tortoise shell. I know that the scripting code is a nightmare so I am asking that this be something a DM can assist with in game when they are not busy instead of paying DCs. Paying the DCs is very expensive over time and multiple weapons even more so.

I would also like it to be something, if need be, that a person may need to request to be allowed to use this as the weapons would be entirely different in use than there noncrafted counterparts.

I have a 'reformed savage' whom would use the claws in combat and an orcblood who would use the punch daggers most likely!

Thanks for the time and consideration. I open this up to others who have other item appearances available in the toolset but are not possible without DCs in game.

Cheers

I can use myhals to craft my sickle. Is that what you have a problem with?

I'd be for unlocking those, because it's sad that more "primitive" or "savage" themed characters would have to shell out a DC and make a request and wait for a weapon appearance that actually matches their overall character better, when the materials are arguably even easier to acquire and make than the default forged weapons.

I'd like to see that across all weapon types for the bone and chipped stone appearances.

+1

Why keep this stuff as request only?

Yup! Should be unlocked. No need for a few things to be hidden away.

I don't really play characters who use primitive weaponry, but I do also agree that such should be unlocked for the very reason Letum mentioned.

I'm not the one that has to cralw through our apparently byzantine craft system to do it, so I'll bow out of this discussion. Obviously we all like more content.

Could these be DM changed in game of a DM is willing and has the time?

As far as I know, it can't be done IG. Items would have to be remade in the Toolset and the appearances selected from there, which is ostensibly why it costs a DC at all and isn't just a free change; because of the time it takes to do it. I don't agree with this, personally, but that's why it costs.

I'll ask our script masters how hard it would be to add the options for these hidden appearances.

If the script proves much, wouldn't it be easier to have a shop sell powerless versions of the kama/sickle and someone with a weaponsmith job put the appears on to the new item?

The Job system works the other direction, I'm fairly sure? It takes from a normal item and pastes into the Job system one, so that wouldn't work.

You can use normal items on normal items.

Whaaaat, that's way cooler. (Clearly I don't actually have a weapon/armorsmith.)

I had a sureforged scimitar get eaten by that system once.... I'd prefer to see these things just get unlocked it at all possible.
