Would it be possible to have a widget added that can make an Aura effect around your self, which you can set the distance for? The effect could be just like the Knight Commander's aura, just it doesn't do anything (Perhaps only visible to yourself). I only ask since playing a Ranged Rogue it's surprisingly annoying trying to judge the max distance I can stand while still dealing Ranged Sneak Attacks. This also could be useful for certain spells as well for casters.

There's only two sizes of aura VFX - the Dragonfear monster size, and the smaller elemental damage/mummy fear/etc aura size. So unfortunately this won't work.

I might be wrong, but isn't the big fear aura range also the sneak attack range? So, for the OPs idea it would work.

It's 30 ft for a Ranged Sneak Attack, so if one of those auras is that size it could work. Would just have to give up on the adjustable part.

The two aura sizes are 30 ft and 10 ft.

This is something that can be requested under the visualizer I believe. Since it will just be an effect and not an actual aura I don't see the harm.
