They either still refer to places that don't exist any more (Actand) factions that don't exist anymore (Cordor STU, like 5 drow houses) and both refer to PC's that have not been around in years.

Considering these are stickied and really wrong they should be removed and if necessary new ones made with accurate information.

Nothing SHOULD be made. It is up to the people if they want to update it or not. They don't have to and I generally dislike the idea as well.

I think Commie is actually trying to have all that are not up to date be removed. If a faction does not exist, then why should they be listed? I'm pretty sure STU is not a thing, the Magisterium Mortis is not up to date, leading to people writing to Dead, rather than to LibrisMortis, same with the Living Guard, possibly also Bendir militia, while Broken Road says themselves that they are inactive, that means they do not need a lisiting here, same with the Nec'perya Vanguard, some Drow houses, Eternal Order, Eilistrae Shrine.

Those directly list that they are inactive, and therefore clutter the forum, which IMO should be pretty up to date on stuff like this. Maybe send some PMs to the leaders, and if they don't respond, tell them that their listing was removed. If they want to they can still list it again, if it actually is a thing.

Cities: Cordor isn't up to date, Actand could be deleted, since it is a completely new area, without any living civilized people, the empty post by NinjaClarinet could be edited out, which I'm pretty confident someone has the right to do, Nec'perya is wrong, Tarkuul not quite up to date. Posting something new should be volutary, but things that are not up to date or do not exist anymore don't need to be listed, since things listed are common knowledge. So maybe common knowledge is wrong, but then it should be due to purposeful misleading, but not "we didn't update the forums".

Exactly. If a thread is stickied it should be accurate.

I vote for purging. I don't like a faction directory anyway.

It's up to each faction to keep their things updated, it's not a DM responsibility.

Unfortunately it is, because only DMs can edit the posts (apart from the original poster, of course), the changes just need to be submitted by the player.

Just unsticky them and purge them.

They arn't needed. If your faction exists and is doing work people will find out IG, and you can put up IC flyers for recruiting if you want.

There is no need for an OOC directory at all. Cull the threads.
