Fae’ryl stood up straight after her respectable bow. Her voice did not shake and her hands did not tremble. Rather her voice was strong and steady. Yathrin Nizzre’tyne watched her carefully. Nizzre’tyne had all but ambushed the jalil at the portal crystal demanding to know what she intended to do considering the command of the voice of the Dread Queen in the Temple.

If Fae’ryl was surprised that Nizzre’tyne, who had not been there, knew of the incident she didn’t show it. Instead she already had a plan. Fae’ryl’s thoughts were to provide proof that she was faithful to Lolth. And what’s more Fae’ryl was making a grab for power at the same time. Nizzre’tyne approved.

They portaled to the rebel caverns. Nizzre’tyne was a spectator only. Although when Fae’ryl set her sights upon something more valuable to Lolth than driders, Nizzre’tyne practiced with her crossbow.

Past the driders and onto the buildings Nizzre’tyne followed Fae’ryl. Fae’ryl was careful and didn’t rush. She was able to approach a group of rebels. There were the cries of anger from the rebels, shouts and curses. Fae’ryl danced, her blade soon too covered in blood to glitter. Fae’ryl jumped over the fallen bodies and moved over towards a priestess whom was attempting to stun Fae’ryl, to no avail. An assassin stepped into her path and she dodged and moved like water as the assassin slashed and stabbed. Yet instead of countering with her blade, Fae’ryl pulled out a scroll and the power of the arcane flew out and the priestess was stunned. As if the assassin was no more that an annoying insect, Fae’ryl dispatched him. She stepped over the body pulling out rope. She pulled the weapon from the priestesses hand and threw down the shield. Then she tied the priestess up before the stun wore off.

Nizzre’tyne knew a blessing from her Queen when she saw it. Fae’ryl had been provided an opportunity from the Dread Queen and she had grabbed it with both hands. They ported back to Edonil then proceeded to the Temple. Inside the jail cell, Nizzre’tyne discussed and demonstrated proper captive techniques along with proper questioning. Not only was Fae’ryls prize a priestess, she was of a high rank named Kocukx'lzje.

Thus Nizzre’tyne was pleased to perform a sacrifice of Fae’ryls prize to their Dread Queen of the Webs. “I, Yathrin Nizzre’tyne, have been witness to Fae’ryls answer to the command You set forth in Your Temple after the escape of the heretic, Queen of Chaos. Lolth tlu Malla!”

The Dread Queen had not been sated by the sacrifice of the priestess.

Fae'ryl paced one of the many walkways of Edonil, her hands over her ears as she muttered to herself. One of the Queen's many handmaidens had begun whispering in her ears once more, naming her a failure, and praising the Queen herself. It was worse when she tried to concentrate, the spider's chitterings and the whispering growing louder until it became unbearable. She turned, making the walk to the Tinnerai Qu'ellar, where she would seek advice from her House, and the new Ust'Ilharess.

Upon speaking to the members of Tinnerai and the Ust'Ilharess, plans were set in motion. Blade was to be notified immediately to begin the crafting of a dark steel dagger, its pommel designed by Nizzre'tyne herself.

(IC definition of the dagger: "This darksteel dagger is blacker than the deepest cavern. The blade is sharp and straight. The pommel is also of darksteel except for the very bottom that is made of silver and shaped into an orntate and lovely spider. The spider is mostly flat as if it may be used as a brand. A diamond is inlayed into the spiders abdomen so that a point juts out just far enough to pierce skin should the spider be pressed into flesh.")

Fae'ryl patiently waited by the leyline node of Edonil, chatting idly with the Ul'Faeruk, Krrja, and Seeress Elvorfilia, awaiting the arrival of Nizzre'tyne and Blade with her branding tool.

When they arrived, Fae'ryl was gifted with the finely crafted dagger that would serve her in her own self-sacrifice to their Queen. Borrowing a scroll from Blade, she heated the steel pommel until it nearly glowed orange with its heat. Nizzre'tyne blessed her blade. All stood in wait for Fae'ryl to make her next move.

Fae'ryl turned the brand so that it would not appear upside down, gave a respectful nod to Nizzre'tyne, and then pressed it to her flesh. Eventually, she spoke. "I, Fae'ryl, answer again in name of the command given in Your Temple, Dreaded Queen."

In a fluid motion, she moved the brand to her right cheek, pressing firmly, and allowing the diamond to pierce her flesh, while its heat seared the wound shut. Wincing in brief pain, the smell of burning flesh in the air, she spoke again. "Lolth tlu malla."

Nizzre'tyne spoke as the brand was moved away to reveal the red irritated flesh of a spider that lay beneath. "Bweal." She simply stated, before departing with Blade and Krrja.
