Something is occurring.

A single Mind Flayer clad in flowing red and black robes bearing a belt decorated with the miniaturized heads of a variety of sentient creatures emerges from the portal and broadcasts its presence as an envoy of Underport, seeking an audience to any near the gate lacking mental protections. Its invasion of privacy otherwise stops there as it awaits to hear from those that may speak on the city's behalf.

The visitor would soon be greeted by the Magistrate of Tarkuul. Informing the creature of the laws of the city it is then allowed time to consider before entering.

Soon enough the High Arcanist emerges from the Tower and approaches the gate,
inclining his head to the Mindflayer, immediately counting the tentacles silently.

"Welcome to the Living City."

A cowled figure adorned now with a thin layer of permafrost across his battle plate echoes footsteps towards the gates upon the Illithid's arrival.
The muttering of a Ancient language is heard, Forgotten by many.

The cold voice echoes throughout to the entrance at the Illithid.

"It is pleasing we are graced by such intellect to visit the Living City. Welcome."

Later on, after exchanging a few words with Lucius, the Illithid
follows after him into the Tower of the Damned.
