// Translation: You can PM me with a message you would like to have added to the town criers, and I will add it and leave it there for the amount of time your PC pays to have it there. You pay in advance, non-refundable, so know that when you make the purchase you've made an investment in the proliferation of the roleplay of your faction. In other words, if you don't anticipate your faction lasting a year, don't pay for a year's worth of advertising. Try a few weeks at first, then, if things go well, a six month plan.

The messages should ideally be brief and succinct, as there is only so much space allowed. 255 characters, to be exact. However, there is more than enough space to provide for important details.

The messages are limited to one per PC, but two per faction. This is to avoid an unnecessary flooding of the town criers. I decided to grant 2 slots to a faction for the following reason: some factions may have a running generic advertisement that they can buy for an extended period of time (six months, let's say) that reads as follows:

"The Chapel of Lathander in Cordor: East is looking for dedicated clerics and paladins of the Morninglord to bring about social renewal and to restore hope to the downtrodden across the island of Amia. If your heart is full of the light of the Dawnbringer, please see Friar Goodmane at your earliest convenience!"

Of course, at the same time, this faction may have a specific "event" that plan on having, and they want to advertise for it. They can, therefore, purchase a second slot for, oh, two weeks in advance of the event that reads:

"The Commonwealth of Cordor and the Chapel of Lathander will be hosting a Dawn Service and Memorial Dedication to the lives lost during the Fall of Cordor on the morning of Saturday, February 14th at 5:45am GMT! The Chapel of Lathander will provide unlit candles that will be lit during the service as the dawn rises. Tithes to the Chapel of Lathander and to the families of those lost during the Fall are welcome and encouraged."

Obviously, in the Forgotten Realms, people measure things in terms of tendays, and a month is three tendays. Also, they do not have our day, month, time, and timezone designations, clearly. However, for the sake of ease, we will be managing these by RL time 7-day weeks, with a consistent updating on Mondays. If you wish to give a specific time for an event in an advertisement, in the case I presented above, you may, if you like, use the RL day and time as I did. If this completely throws off your sense of immersion in the setting, you are welcome to utilize some other clever means to notify people. By directing them to a PC in the ad. Or saying nothing about the time, but an IC reminder to check the public messageboard (the forums) for the details. Or an //OOC line at the end including the RL date and time. Whatever is most convenient for you.
