We require a deposit for any contract in access of 500'000 denars. Clients are assured discretion and secrecy where required. We are not evil, merely amoral. We reserve the right to decline contracts which may break local laws, or cast us in bad light.

Individuals should be healthy, combat-experienced, and capable of working well with others. There will be penalties and bonuses according to performance during contract. Contract pay will be Basic plus 5% per established skill, up to 250%
Member Responsibilities
The Lords of War functions primarily as a contracting company, sourcing out various contracts, and updating its membership on a continual basis. Contracts are given to any member who expresses interest, and in the case of multiple members desiring a lucrative contract, either bidding will be allowed, or a friendly competition will ensue, to see which party succeeds first. Management will only step in when incompetence, or a lack of progress demands attention.
Members are completely free to carry out their normal activities, and in this case, the Lords of War functions as a guild, or club, rather than a faction. Anyone claiming to work for the Lords of War should be taken with an ounce of disbelief, for except for the management, almost all employees of the Lords of War work for themselves, almost completely independent of oversight.

//Underport. 21 hours from now. Its OK to miss, but there will be plenty of Roleplay. You can come 1-2 hours early for more RP. Our special friends need not be present, this is for a mercenary contract discussion.

Public Notice:
The Lords of War now opens its doors to contracts and bounties. We have completed out business organization, and are now staffed with the necessary personal to handle nearly any task that can be asked of us. With that in mind however, the Lords of War reserves the right to turn down any new contracts, in order to concentrate on existing contracts that require our fullest attention.
We are pleased to announce our first contract with the City of Underport, a lucrative, long term arrangement that involves the safety and security of the merchants, residents and travelers in Underport.

Shareholder's Notice:
Pursuant to Article 3:13, the Lords of War will be undergoing a shakeup, to remove dead weight from the roster. All indications prove a loss of no more than four personnel, offset entirely by new recruitment. Our main subcontractors will be unavailable for the near future, and our first teams have just deployed to Underport, where they will be brief by local guard captains. Actual duty should start soon.
We also have three current taskings, smaller contracts that do not require actual contract negotiation, and has been passed directly from client to contractor. Favorable outcomes are expected.
Our abilities to handle any large contracts are significantly reduced, and we shall only be able to complete smaller, less manpower-intensive work.

Notice to Employees and Contractors:
1. Pursuant to discussions amongst the management committee, it is decided that personal names, current nicknames, and long stage names, will not be allowed for members, who must pick a new name. Stagenames should be no longer than two syllables, to allow for rapid communication during battle. Thus, for example, "Shepherd" is allowed while "Shepherdess" is not.
2. After a long and painful discussion on the matter, the Lords of War has decided to retain its policy of no-discrimination, despite the fact that this island is all about discrimination. We will not interfere with how individual members of our organization carry out their day to day activities, or attempt to force them into compliance with another group's mentality or doctrine.
3. So long as all employees perform up to our very high standards while on contract, they will be retained. Furthermore, there have been several incidents of unknown persons impersonating the Lords of War while committing crimes. Management believes this is the result of a rival organization, and have therefore begun to issue out insignias that real employees and contractors can use to identify themselves.
4. All jobs and contracts are temporary on hold until you receive your insignias. Insignias will be rendered temporarily inert when contractors are not on duty. At no point of time should employees display their insignias or announce their affiliation to the Lords of War while not on contract, unless duly deputized as a recruiter, or a member of management.
5. The Lords of War retains its policy of not acting within any city or town without due authorization from local authorities. The only exception of this is recruitment, unless such is not permitted by local law.
6. The bounty on the individual known as Alton is to be held in perpetuity. This is extended to his associates and others who might work with him. He is the only lead we have to the attacks on the Cordorian Orphanage. He is also likely to have been involved in the attacks on the Eternal Order, resulting in their murderous rampage, that has been referred to the Triadic Order.
7. We will take no action against the Triadic Knights or the Eternal Order unless they prove unwilling to admit that they have committed crimes, refuse to charge the guilty parties, and subsequently punish the ones responsible. Management is aware that an unknown party is attempting to cause a conflict and is unwilling to succumb to this manipulation just yet.
8. If they refuse to do the right thing, then we will have no choice, but to accept the manipulation, and wage outright war against them as just retribution and revenge for attacking the Lords of War, who was not even in operation during the time of the incident, but was still in contract negotiations.
9. Because of the significant number of contractors and employees we have, management is in the belief we outnumber them at least three to one, and can call upon their natural enemies to support us, ironically on the side of justice. Objectives at that point of time, will be to seek an apology for their actions, and the punishment of the individuals in question, after which the Lords of War will cease all hostilities.
10. Our main enemy, however, is not the bigots in Khem or Kohlingen, but the unknown entity that has been manipulating both parties and ourselves. Any contractors able to discover the connections will be awarded up to 500'000 denars from my own pocket, depending on the quality of the information.

Current Deployment Plan for Underport:
Patrol Group
To aid and assist indigenous troops in enforcing the quarantine. Engage all elven-sized, shape-shifted, or invisible persons for disease checks. Arrangements are currently being made for Illithids and other natural detectors. Patrol Groups shall be named Paladin, Knight, Templar and Crusader. Patrol groups shall comprise of one Supervisor and two Mercenaries. Patrol groups may be directed by any Illithid in the vicinity, as the Elder Brain watches all.
Reaction Group
To aid Patrols that run into trouble, or for immediate reaction to the rumors of unrest and rebellion against the Elder Brain. Reaction Groups shall consist of nothing less than the elite amongst our members. Its organization shall be fluid, and deal with all manner of situations. Reaction groups may also be directed by any Illithids in the vicinity. Reaction groups may engage in patrols.
Health Notice
Employees and Contractors are required to produce a sample of blood to supervisors before undertaking duties. All personnel deployed into Underport must undergo screening by a cleric, and wear the waxed leather body-glove provided under their armor. Helmets also required. Plague is spread through blood and contact with the body, so use weapons or tools whenever possible, or gloves if not.
Deployment Schedule
Deployment shall be no more than six hours, and no less than two. A mandatory six hours of rest is required between every eight hour deployment, with no more than two deployments a day. Deployed persons are encouraged to be fully spelled up and ready for a full on assault or defensive action.
Contract Objectives
Prevent entry of any and all diseased persons into Underport, by lethal force if necessary. Unless informed by an Illithid, there shall be no exceptions. Our client, is the City of Underport, as represented by the Elder Brain, and its Illithid hive. Offend them if you want to have your brain eaten. Note that your normal medical and restorative fees are void if an Illithid eats your brain.
Aside from plague quarantine, ensure that business continues unabated in Underport, do not disturb the merchants or the businesses, and be aware that bad behavior can literally be fetched from your mind by the Illithids, who shall subsequently result in you being more empty-headed than usual.
React with extreme violence to any attack on an Illithid, unless it is another Illithid. There are rumors of an insurrection, and possible attacks on patrols, take heed and ensure you are well prepared. Support the local guards and patrols to put down any such actions. Remember, they are paying you to be better.
Plague Details
Diseased drow from Ultrinnen are marked with an X, so look for any such clothing or armor. Reject entry if discovered, even if the persons exhibit no signs of the plague. The disease comes in the form of a virulent rash, as well as a terrible smell, which is apparently much more detectable on females. Be aware of people that are fully covered up, wearing a helmet, or smelling strongly of anything. Exposure of the arms and face and neck should be sufficient for checking for plague. A full body check may be conducted if necessary, but only in the presence of an Illithid. The disease is not confined to drow, and may be present on livestock, familiars, and other creatures.
Take note, the Deployment Date is still not set. Do not deploy patrols until given permission by the Illithids.

Attention Employees:
If you have been shortlisted for duty in Underport, Deploy immediately.
Any and all persons within the city, except Illithids, can be asked to remove his helmet, or partially disrobe, in order for employees to detect if he has the plague. Remove by force anyone who refuses to do so from the boundaries of Underport. Remove by force anyone who has the plague, and refuses to depart. Eliminate (without OOC rezz) anyone who attempts to return.
You may eject from Underport, any undesirables who are: Threatening the Lords of War, Threatening the Elder Mind or any Illithids, Seeking to disrupt businesses or trade by violence, intimidation or coercion.
You are required to wear the full body glove provided.
Failure to do so will result in termination in case of infection, rather than claims on medical benefits.
You may call upon local guards for assistance at any time.

((OOC Guidelines:
Take note that this is all about the RP, not about the PvP.
You can RP arresting infected PCs of course, just make sure to dump them outside UP when the RP is concluded. So they can continue playing their characters.
you are allowed to do anything IC within the limits of the IC contract. Just remember that you generally shouldn't force people into situations where they wont be able to play their characters, like detaining them for long periods of time against the player's will. You can always ask the player involved how far is he prepared to go along with your RP. If he's uninterested, or unwilling to participate, just keep things as short as possible.
Consider that your characters are working for the Mindflayers, and with the consent of the mindflayers. So the guards would allow them to do their jobs within the stated IC limits of their contract. When in doubt, ask a DM. Any DM can help you settle unclear situations.
The guards would likely help you guys out in hostile scenarios, when another PC is not allowing you to carry out one of the duties detailed in your IC contract, or when handling plague victims. The Guards will tell you to stop, only in situations where you'd be hurting the business of UP, stepping outside the limits of your IC contract, or doing something wildly inappropriate. When in doubt, feel free to ask any DM around to decide the actions of the guards.
Overall, just keep things within common sense, and with that in mind do whatever would be IC for your characters to do. Try to have fun, make sure the RP isn't a drag for the other party involved, and you should be fine as far as OOC rules go.
For the moment, if things turn into PvP, consider that if we lose, the other party simply has to flee from Underport, chased out by the guards, especially if they exhibit plague symptoms or are openly insulting the Illithids. Do not go "Oh, the guards jump you and now you are our prisoners"))
