The following information pertains to the current crisis on divination. The tower of Mystra, and one Arronax in particular has deemed the populace of Amia unfit to know what is going on, attempting to keep us ''lessers'' from ''meddling in their business''.
I do not agree with his view, as the tower of Mystra and it's mages certainly are not the only authority on matters of the arcane. If you want to know what is going on and what we can do about it, read the copy of the notice below.
As a summary... a time traveling planar being with great powers over time known as the Zeitgeist has been drawn to Amia by the practice of chronomancy, causing the future to be unseen. It's presence may have much more drastic consequences, the dawn of divination is only the start, if we don't find a way to stop it.
What the tower deemed us unfit to know
Quote: I am quite certain that this blockage of divination and even scrying is being caused by the presence of an entity known as a zeitgeist. It is an entity drawn to a realm - or to a specific time, as the case may be - by the practice of chronomancy. If you recall your most rudimentary lessons in resonance, the strange but usually harmless manifestations that occur in areas where certain strong paradigmatic magics are practiced, you may have heard that sometimes resonance can attract the attention of supernatural and other unusual beings. In the case of chronomancy, there is always the small risk that a zeitgeist arrives...theoretically.
I regret to say there has never been any empirical truth that such a being even exists, and is not merely an act by the Material Plane itself to set wrongs right, due mostly to the fact that chronomancy is almost entirely a lost art. Our own island of Amia, in fact, had only one magician known to practice chronomancy - Montgomery d'Cordor, the former Duke of what is now the Commonwealth of Cordor.
Generally speaking, most rote spell formulas and divine invocations meant to deal with spirits would, again theoretically, cease to affect a zeitgeist. These spell formulas are designed specifically to deal with entities that inhabit persons, places, or things. The zeitgeist primarily inhabits a "when", an unrecognized vector by the vast majority of spells.
My sources indicate that the anomalies began and originated within Cordor. And both the government and the people are slowly becoming aware of strange occurrences. Archaic accounts of a zeitgeists arriving at the site of incredible chronomancy describe them as beings that are locked into a sensible, but ultimately futile attempt to rectify the crimps and wrinkles that remain for a time after the practice of chronomancy; it is akin to finding a bump in a rug, applying pressure to flatten it out, and creating two bumps at either side, or merely shifting the disturbance in the rug in some other direction.
These same archaic accounts, pre-dating even the Rise and Fall of the Netherese Empire, characterize the zeitgeist as an entity that reaches backwards through the past and forwards through time and tries to pull everything together into the present at random and chaotic intervals as an attempt to normalize the passage of time. The repeated and exponential creation of anomalies eventually stack and spin out of control, and....again, purely theoretically....the outcome of such a disturbance could have catastrophic results.
Is it my belief that we need to be deeply concerned, or to encourage widespread panic by spouting baseless, unfounded doomsday prophecies? No.
Is it my belief that the Mystran Monolith should step in to offer aid and oversight to the Commonwealth's Ministry of Magic in the unexpected and unfortunate absence of its Minister, Collin Reyes, a former pupil of mine, in an attempt to conduct research and provide any necessary damage control? Yes. Quote: Time is a dimension and aspect of magics not often explored, and for very good reasons.. Most whom dabble in it, loose all concept of time, which is needed for linear beings concept of reality and life. Birth, life, death and so on.. All mages whom dabble in Chronomancy and timetravel, eventually loose this grasp, seeing birth, life, death and all things related to time as one single thing, not past present and future. Like a hallway of doors they can enter and exit as they please.
Time cannot be comprehended or written down into books, like other aspects of magic, or dimensions of the multiverse, as it cannot be fully comprehended, not even by the Gods. It is my belief that any and every possability that can exist, does so, within another version of our world, planes and so on. Creating an infinite number of possible outcomes and bringing some sense of order to all the chaos of life, by branching out any and all directions it can and may go. And what I believe, this creature is doing, is moving trough these "other" universes. This making time, as any other plane or dimension that can be seen and moved to, like portal travel. However as such things is innately impossible to comprehend for those who see it as linear. I believe my view of it is flawed, but may be a good guess, at best.
It is possible that the creature Meriam describes could be drawn to Toril, and Amia. It'd most likely require a large amount of timetravel or chronomancy. Which makes me concerned, as a strong temporal and/or transplanar resonance would be needed.
Resonance is magic of a place, attuning to the ways magic is wielded around it, to try and simplify it. Is something I have a good familiarity with, based on my race and siphoning abilities. And who's been practicing chronomancy, a quite risky secondary spell school, is my main question. Not how to remove this creature. The creature is most likely from a time, we cannot perceive, or may be from a dimension and/or plane we have no knowledge of. And it is my theory that the only possible way to stop it, is to both negate planar travels with a dimensional lock, thus we -may- have a chance at locking it from traveling trough time as a dimension. And we would most likely need a temporal stasis. Both of whom can be easily avoided, if the creature predicts our actions.
What we need to do, is localize who has been meddling with time as a chronomancer, within Cordor, and attempt to stop this person. To progressive life, time gone, should stay gone and not meddled with or changed. This can alter our existences, lives and being. Spells relating to future or the flow of time, are not of worry, as timestops and divinations are quite common. However affecting past time, can have disasterous consequences.
I would ask all arcanists, heroes, scholars and adventurers to do their best and do all in our power to prevent a catastrophe as Amia has never seen it before.

Warrick looks at one of these notices in Cordor and facepalms, promptly bringing it to the Council's attention and awaiting any orders which may come.
---
Meanwhile, Vaelmith likely getting word of one of these notices somehow, narrows his eyes.
"Who the hell posted these and what right do they have to lie about the Monolith?"

Additionally, as an Afterthought Vaelmith issues the following orders to any and all Weave Knight personnel and Support golems.
"Do not allow anyone to bug Meram, or cause trouble at the Monolith because of this. As well, if anyone can provide information on the identity of the person who posted this information, please come forward to me at once."

The notices have been put up by a young horned man with golden skin and azure blue eyes, quite obviously a dragonkin to anyone familiar with his kind.
Arytiss saw no reason to keep his identity secret and should be easily recognized as the one behind the notices, putting them up in public places easily accessible. If asked to leave any particular place, he would comply without complain and find another.
Notices removed by local authorities are not replaced, only ones that would appear to be subject to unlegalized vandalism.

*a few simple notes appear once more, this time on public notice boards*
It has come to my attention that a few adventurers encountered the Zeitgeist. If you are one of those, I would ask you to either contact me in person, or leave a note describing the encounter in detail as well as any additional information you feel may be usefull.

Willow notices one in Kohligen, tears it down and looks around with narrowed eyes. She stuffs it in her bag and walks off to the docks, taking a vessel to Cordor.

A large man in red armour reads over one of the notices, scratches his bald head, squints at the notice up close, then speaks aloud to himself.
If it exists, it can be fought.

You've failed to state that you copied all of that directly from publically posted messages at the Monolith. And I never said lessers or meddling in "our" businesses.. I said I do not want your aid. A response like this, where you go and copy our public boards at the monolith, open for all mages to see, and post it in the general public, because of a bruised ego, is something I would expect from a child. Not an adult dragonkin monk.
Your lies here, is not excused by your wounded ego, because I did not want the aid of someone without understanding or ability to use arcane spells. As you are a monk, I find it most curious why you would spread lies and chaos, simply because of a bruised ego. My door is open if you want to schedule an appointment with me, and we can try to find the why by exploring your childhood or other major events in your life.
I have a comfy couch and everything.

After being kicked out of the local tavern for starting several fights and over-intoxication, Jack finally stumbles across some people reading the notices.
"Fething Arcanist filth. The world hates you, take a hint and leave before you screw everything u-"
After throwing up all over the readers, he passes out in the muddy gutter of the street.
