Post subject:  [Cordor] Formal Banning : Church of Bane

Attention Citizens of Cordor

In response to recent unlawful activities performed upon Cordor's soil and within its lands, in addition to previous behaviour of this infamous clergy, the Church of Bane is hereby banned from the city limits.

Should any individuals affiliated with the Church of Bane enter the Commonwealth of Cordor, they will be removed with any required force including lethal if necessary.

Any and all Banite personnel spotted within the Cordorian limits should be reported to a Commonwealth Official or Cordorian Guard at earlist opportunity.

Signed,
General Mark Dorne

On his way to the merchant hall the red headed man pauses to read the poster and gives a deep sigh of relief. "Finally. One place that can be safe for us" He looks it over again and twists his lips at a thought "Course they don't know every member of the church...." Looks to the bottom of the page and murmurs "General Mark Dorne"

He squeezes the amulet around his neck and a portal zips up and takes him quickly without a word

Josalynn spies the notice and curses under her breath

"By the Nine! Now i am going to have to sing my song -outside- of the city. Without city guards to watch, it could make my job a whole lot more dangerous."

With a quick silent prayer to Lliira, she heads elsewhere, humming a tune she -wants- those of Bane to hear.

"Yes!" Xaviera pumps her fist in the air upon reading the notice. "It's taken years, but it's finally happened. I guess having your citizens butchered outside the gates is a bit more important than trade...." She goes happily off to the Temple of Love to make an offering of thanksgiving on the altar of Sharess. "Let's see now if the Cyricists take the hint."

A girl, dressed in pure black armor with only the etchings of a helmed horror over her armor to give her some form for other to speak to stops dead in her tracks as she sees the notice.

"By the gods, i almost cant believe it."

She pulls out a notepad and quickly copies the notice down, and with a very happy spring in her step, she continues on to destinations unknown.

*In the keep of Kohlingen a certain Knight smiles as he reads the copy of the notice which was brought to him by one of his squires.*

This makes things easier....much easier.

During one of his market-visits to Cordor, Dradoc passes the notice and looks at it with mild interest.

With a wry smile and a hint of a chuckle, he makes his way out of the city limits to teleport back to the safety of Tarkuul.

When he arrives in the Living City, he immediately makes his way to his living quarters to write in his journal:

"The 'City of Tolerance' has banned yet another faction from their grounds. This city of illusions is quickly beginning to show its true colors. I trust it will not be long until they ban members of the Church of Velsharoon, not to mention citizens of Tarkuul. I wonder how that will sit with the council..."

He allows an almost insane cackle to escape his lips as he leans back in his chair, thoroughly enjoying the stupidity of Cordor's government.

Bretton Wylde reads the notice on one of his visits to the city and shakes his head to himself.

"I wonder how many bribes it took to pass this, and how many more will be taken so certain individuals are ignored as they go about their business?"

A battered looking Tiefling can be seen walking through the streets with a rather large satchel over his back as he moves for the Docks District, getting ready to leave on the next boat. Yet, takes a sudden stop in walking as he noticed a sign and gives a devillish grin.

"Oh! The wee 'cupcakes' got it in for 'um now, ain't they!? Heheh.... Gits." And at that, Jarden moved on his way, whistling a small country tune as he left the isle.

Weston Carter finally speaks up softly as he looks at the poster. There is a mild smile on his lips and decides he's not overly concerned with whom might hear as he speaks aloud with a tone of approval.

"This is a good move. The city of Cordor has to be willing to make stance. I have heard those whom scoff that this is some show of intolerance, but is it? Do not even the fabled neutrality of druids try to keep away evil or plights that are too much for nature to handle?

I would see this no different. The City of Tolerance, Proud Cordor, has given the Banites plenty of time to hold back on their actions, abuse, and cruelty just beyond the gates in view of the people. They have given chance for conflict in town to be taken away from the danger to innocents.

This is Tolerance. This is when the Tolerance has been given, tested, and abused until broken. Cordor holds a great respect for many people, many creeds, and many races. Cordor gives everyone a chance.

This is the consiquence to those who choose not to take their chance or break their chance. I approve of this, it is logical, it is right, it is for the best as things are now. It is not the people's fault things had to come to this. Tolerance too must have limits."

The handful of concerned citizens who like to follow Weston around Cordor stand and listen to Saint Weston's commentary, nodding more or less in agreement.

Though they all make one minor correction.

"We ain't the City of Tolerance no more. That was the Duke's propaganda meant to keep merchants and nobles fat by letting them trade with people who harangued and murdered us while filling their pockets. The whole City of Tolerance nonsense died when the Duke did, and good (censored) riddance to both!"

They clap Saint Weston on the shoulder and admire the anti-Banite message with some small amount of pride.

"Though we think the City of Water sounds awful nice."

Weston puts his hands up lightly as his shoulders raise, not a motion of quieting anyone, but the soft agreement that this is a new concept to him he simply did not know yet.

"So then it is and isn't," he uses both of his hands to shake the one of a man correcting him. "I hadn't heard this yet, and I glad to know. And why not? The City of Water. The City of Pride. The City of the People. Cordor is changing, who could deny that? So it to have a new name is well indeed.

Cordor, the City of Water. Such a great port should be deserving. Let it have some time. Cordor, the City of Water. Quite nice indeed."

A certain half-elven tiefling, rumored to currently be suspended from the Cordorian Adventuring Guard, happens upon a copy of the notice during one of her increasingly rare "visits" to Cordor. She merely stares at it for a few long moments before walking away without a word....though the slight smirk of derision playing upon her lips might give some clue as to either her thoughts of the ban, or of the affected Church itself.
