Post subject:  [All Surface Towns] Shifters, and a village for all.

Greetings!

I am Nym, a shifter of Amia.

I am presently gathering any and all shifters to a cause. A simple but large effort to build a home for the often untrusted and misunderstood of these isles.

My goal is a village of neutral affiliation that will provide a safe, free, and fully accepting home to those of many forms, and those that are of races that are poorly accepted in many citys and towns. A village that has homes to suit favored forms, provide education and training to young shifters, and even druids and monks.

As I said the invitation extends to missunderstood races such as shapeshifters, fey, goblin-kind, dragon-kin of all kinds, those of planar parentage, and so on. All that would be required would be a peaceful disposition or at least one suited to co-exist in a balanced, natural, and neutral state of affairs. This would be a home, not a faction or an oath bound group. Only simple laws chosen by a council that any could agree with to be followed.

I cannot do this on my own and I look to my kin for aid. Any whom see fit to donate to a cause such as this are also welcome. Truly while it has a purpose to be a home for those without a common place even the common race would be welcome if they truly wished.

Should you find my cause worthy then please make it your own. Make your mark upon this poster. With enough marks I will make available ways to begin contributing to the cause.

When selecting a name I thought it best to remain as simple and pure as the idea itself.

Thus I name the village to be: Trefor, which in old druidic means "home".

I hope you will join me in this.

Protection to the mother, and may the father walk with you always.

Nym

*A faerie hovers in front of the notice board, studying the note carefully. After a few moments, he darts off, only to return shortly with a piece of paper and a quill. He begins to write in a large, messy scrawl, and after darting away a few times for more ink, the message reads "Silly! How are you going to know who will help if you don't leave room for names!". The rest of the paper is blank, apart from a small squiggle beneath the message, which almost looks like someone wrote the name "Ranth".

OOC: Heh, there is in fact a large length of blank portion left to the bottom of the page. To make it even easier the parchment is thick and impressions and/or wax marks would work well. //

Have you ever BEEN to Cordor?
More fey, shifters, dragons, tieflings, god babys and all sorts of dark drow in that city....

Idiot!

A small kobold approaches the note on the noticeboard in Bendir Dale and after several minutes of pained attempts at reading it, he finally seems to understand it.
"Meekle wonder if theys be accepting animal companions in this new village, yip! Meekle thinks him wait on signing up for anything until him knows more 'bout dis. Yip!"
The kobold tromps off back towards the Amia forest, often looking back towards Bendir Dale with a contemplative look on his reptilian face.

They are tolerated, but not welcome. You have made my point well.

Yes, companions would certainly be welcome.

Shortly after the last signature, male aasimar, in colours of the Dawnguards, adds his name and a welcoming note bellow it:

"You are most welcome to make the village of the true tollerance and peace. You have my gold and support on the matter. May the Morninglord bless this quest."

Not welcome?

They hire them as guards! They work for the damned city!

Be that as it may you listed off each of those races, suggesting that you are not one of them. I feel you have no view from the other side. Can you truly say Cordor is a place for those you listed? Or would you say it is largely the only option...

Make no misunderstanding, I mean no dishonor to Cordor and it's peoples. I believe the next step should be taken for those whom feel as I do.

OOC: It would happen at any time, Nym checking the notices. However he always travels as a blue wyrmling (you can ask anyone who knows him) and would spot you with true seeing for certain once he left town limits. Please pm me online (or here if you prefer) to have that conversation. :)

//Kohlingen, Cordor, Wharftown, and Bendir Dale all would have issues with you travelling "as a blue wyrmling". ergo I suggest you amend your statement.

The Lieutenant merely leaves a notice of her own while wrapping up a patrol about the town.

"Dear writer,

I suggest you check your sources a bit more, because the Cordorian Guard, to my best knowledge, only employs one tiefling and none of the other things you have listed. I know, because I hire them for the division that would employ adventurers. That said, if there are questions about the city's policies and laws, I extend an invitation for any to contact me in Cordor.

-Lt. Nevaeh Tarvencia, Cordorian Guard."

*Yaston shakes his head as he reads the notice*

Such a settlement would only cause chaos and death.

*He goes around Kohlingen and removes the posters in the city.*

// it's a bit odd that you can "take them down" I understand that this is an IG board but I can't really retaliate in any way because this is still a message board. Let's just go with:

*I put them copies back up and place thank yous to those that have written on them thus far, acknowledging their participation*

//I ask you to please not turn this into random posts of I put them up and you take them down as that is all that can truly happen on a message board. I certainly don't have a true way of finding out whom you are in an IG sense but you have my name. Confront me through RP if you wish to take it farther please. Thank you much!

Reading over the notice and the responses, Taelar shakes his head and mutters to himself in Abyssal.

I say let him make his village. With any luck, it will keep those idiotic, arrogant shifters away from our city, and maybe the insane ones will end up causing them all to kill each other off. Which would be a plus, if you ask me.

He walks off, not touching the notice nor signing it, going to his duty station in the square, hoping today would be a relatively quiet shift.

Of course he can, I wasn't challenging his ability to I was just suggesting that the back and forth of forum posts make such actions "no you don't, yes I did, no you don't times ten, yes I did infinity..." sort of things. I always prefer settling things with RP. Even if in this situation the RP is obvious who has the authority and who would win the actual RP taking place is important.

*So...you replaced the old notices with new ones.*

*Considering the fact that Yaston has got more important things to do, he most likely won't hunt down your posters again, maybe he would remove one if he happen to come across with one.*

//Oh I'm not angry in the slightest, please don't think I am. I was just suggesting that there wasn't a great deal that could be done forum wise. It's just much more valuable to me to have interaction over the matter. Not some imperative I would whine or yell about. I certainly didn't mean to come off as such.

It clearly isn't popular with those that have responded besides a few people so I won't pursue anything further here. It will all be done in game.

Thanks much! Cheers.

A gnome or hin in black and white armor, and a feathery black cloak, leaves a message scrawled over one of the posters near Uhm.

The Chromatic dragon disciples, goblin kind and those of certain planar associations have rightfully earned the ire and mistrust they have. While many chromatics roam the roads in metallic-hunting kill-squads and have a history of doing such, many a lower-planes abomination has sought to wreck life for those who live around them.

And let's not forget those dirty goblins, which any person who has stepped outside can tell you are monsters. Even on the off-chance you do manage peace (with dragonkin of all kinds, I find this highly suspect), you basically make you and yours a target when your degenerate, misunderstood greenskins take to highway robbery, vandalism and assault again. And again.

Upon hearing reactions on this matter the same aasimar who placed his signature on the list made a loud comment to himself.

"This island is afraid of new things. They will rather see evil and darkness crawling up their souls, than give it a shot to make things different, better ... Some people are being very unpolite around here. If you don't like the idea, don't sign it. Maybe someone else will."

Those who might heard it, would be welcomed with a smile if they would approach him for debate.

A small child runs up to the note, smiling widely to himself. And leaves a simple note.

When masses flock, they tend to draw unwanted eyes and conflict. Especially when the masses consist of a large variety of personalities.

I wish you the best of luck, my fellow shifters. Although I shall not join you in this. Home is where the heart is, and mine belongs to all of Amia.

-Nasrudin

After the note is posted, Nasrudin simply murmurs to himself, before running off.
"I wish my kinsmen would have shown this initiative, when they were called."
