Marpenoth the 7th, 1381
An explosion of light comes from over the treetops in the Forest of Despair. It is followed by the low, dull roar of a vortex reaching skyward. Those familiar with the area with would recognize it as coming from the ruins of the Old Mystran Tower. For a few moments, a pillar of energy tears through the sky, visible as far as Bendir Dale and Wharftown. And then, as abruptly as it appeared, it vanishes into silence.
Anyone making their way to the scene would arrive just in time to see Beldor being carried on the shoulders of three young mages dressed in black. They exit without a word through a portal, their expressions ranging from fear, to concern, to breathless awe. There is a gaping hole in his armor and his clothes are drenched in blood.
The ground of the ruins is charred and even more cracked than it was before in some places. Oddly enough, there is an uneasy calm about the area now. The Magic Eater population seems to have been significantly decreased by whatever happened moments ago.
Messages and missives for Beldor go unanswered for a good deal of time.
