*As the library clerk replaces his quill into an ink well, he blows softly on his papers to ease the drying of his text, he sighs, his breath curtailing into a shiver looking up before his desk as he does - his sigh turning into a startled gasp. Before him stood a tall hooded figure, clad in black cloth garments which contrast his pale tattooed skin. The clerk stammers as he attempts to begin his sentence.* "Ah-hh'yes, wel-welcome to Cordor Library, how can I help you?" *he shuffles on his high chair awkwardly as he looks around for others who may be witnessing the man's arrival, still confused as to how he did not hear him enter in the silence of the library*, *The hooded man's head remains lowered as he speaks, his voice raspy with a slight slur to his words* "A book. Your index lists this.. 'establishment' as containing a work of.. interest to me, however, your inventory suggests that what I seek has been loaned to a patron." *he pauses* "'Dragonkind', a submitted title, I require a date of it's returning and an assurance that I will have it upon it's return. If you are unable to provide me with this, I will have it that you grant me the name of the patron who currently has what I seek." *his head ascends slightly to reveal an angle that offers only two murky eyes, similar in colour to that of a blind man, he awaits the clerks response, his gaze fixed*. // I realise this information is available in this thread (viewtopic.php?f=80&t=59626), but I require this book IC and I'd rather add some difficulty in obtaining it than simply "having" it on hand. I can do this one-sided if no one is interested in offering a reply (DM or player, which ever is required), so thanks for reading if nothing comes of this. |

The clerk goes through some catalog and frowns a little. "Mhmm... let's see. Hmh. I see. I'm afraid that item may have been lost. It was borrowed and returned twice soon after it was published, but there's no new documentation since. That's not unheard of, but it suggests it hasn't been available. If you can't find it in the shelf of natural history and bestiaries, it's been either misplaced or stolen. Both happen, unfortunately." The librarian scratches his chin and then snaps his fingers. "I believe that particular tome was in the list of acquisitions which the Oghmanyte priest prepared. You should speak with him. Joon he's called, he comes around here quite often. I think he also teaches at the Blue Skies Academy, so you could try there." ((Posted without any permission whatsoever! Yossarin might slap me but I'm a daredevil.)) |

*The figure stands patiently as the clerk's immediate hesitation wears off as the request for information lubricates his tongue, his gaze does not falter as the librarian rushes his words out. As his sentence comes to a end, the hooded man allows for a pause before speaking* "The name is sufficient enough. Should your words prove to be false, I will return to you and you will explain to me as to how it was that untruth found it's way into your mouth." *he stares blankly at the clerk, catching his eye, in that moment he would shiver unexpectedly as if to walk in to a cold room or for a breeze to draw upon his back, suddenly becoming uncomfortable once more, the clerk turns looks down at his papers nervously.* "Ahh well yes, I am cert-" *His words come to a halt as he looks up, the hall before him empty of the figure that stood before him moments ago*. |
