15 million gold lottery!

This is one for the high-rollers! Tickets are available to purchase from Tamus, found either in the Cordor marketplace or Kampo's Storehouse by request. Each ticket costs 1 million gold. You may choose your own ticket number (from 1-20). You may purchase a maximum of two tickets per person. The draw will be made one day following the sale of the final ticket and will be conducted in public. The names of ticket holders will be public for the sake of transparency. Only the assigned ticket holder may collect winnings. Proceeds go toward the war effort.

Consider this - What are the odds that you would find a Tome of Mystra in a pile of loot? Not high. This is the same value, and a 1 in 20 chance of getting it, 1 in 10 if you buy two tickets.

We are just waiting for the last two people to pay for their tickets, or for others to purchase those remaining three. As soon as they're paid for, the draw will take place. Due to a previous arrangement of funds there will not be any refunded tickets. Naturally that would ruin the entire effort. But be patient, good things take time!

The Laws and City of Kohlingen will not be used as a shield or apron for any kind of scam, con or dishonesty. The winner and the holder of the lottery may conduct their business in the Kohlingen docks, within view of the guard, for mutual safety if such is a concern. Optionally the lottery-holder can allow a non-banned individual to recover the prize.

Kohlingen will not harbor conmen, nor allow them to use our walls and laws as their shields to con people. Get your business done and be done with it. Continued attempts to take advantage of our laws to con people will have legal repercussions.

My name is Tamus, and I have been running a lottery recently to raise funds that have been contributed toward the war effort against Amn. This has proven to be an effective method of gaining the charitable contribution of rich adventurers, even some less savoury individuals. I am happy to say this has been a successful endeavour.

I have recently come across a series of notes left by one of your Knights of Kohlingen, Nadya Simmons. I have attached a copy of the note found in Kohlingen. These notes are explicitly naming me as a conman, which I am not. To my understanding, Kohlingen penal law includes libel. Libel, as you well know, is a written wrong which decreases respect, regard, or confidence; or induce disparaging, hostile, or disagreeable options or feelings against an individual or entity. Nadya's words are a groundless accusation which she has posted not only in Kohlingen, but all across the island. She is very mistaken. I am simply going to seek out the winner in another city, so there isn't any conflict with Kohlingen law on my part, nor am I running a scam. Please speak to your knight.

I request that these notes are removed by Nadya, and an apology is made by this woman. Please let me know. I can be contacted in High Gardens, or at the Nomad Returns, Cordor.
