Aeraline travels from town to town, where permitted, stopping at bars, inns and taverns. She slips a letter to the bartenders asking each if she can tack it up in plain sight. Some brightly colored butterflies would flutter near the letter.
"Dear Drunken Sod,
You know who you are. I got a new deal for you. One week forsaking the bottle plus that ring of yours, and you can have my ring. So, up on the wagon, walk down sober street, dry up, and maybe have a salad or two. Just seven days. Just nod to one of the butterflies and she will find me and let me know.

*In one particular tavern a drunken, dumb-founded looking halfling is found staring at the notice for several minutes with a look of utter confusion. After those minutes he looks at all the rings on his person, danging from his hair, ears, on his fingers, then back to the notice. One could almost see the wheels trying to turn in his head as he tries to figure out if this is for someone else, or him and he just forgot what it was all about.
Soon enough he gets distracted by the butterfly, then distracted from the butterfly by a passing lass, then distracted from the lass by a chance to get more rum. And off he goes, the notice likely forgotten to him by now.*

*In that same tavern, yet another drunk looks at the sign knowing perfectly well who its for and shakes his head. Although he ~really~ wants that ring he doesn't want it more than his next drink. No way he's going through them shakes again. Last time he did it was bad. Really, really bad.
He laughs merrily, slaps a dancing girl on the behind as he dances drunkenly around the common room and calls for Tucker to give him a refill*
